Ok, why cant we just do away with the reserved list now that there's a new face to the cards, AGAIN, and change the art?
Name one card that was reprinted in new face with new art that substantially decreased the cost of the original printing?
I think its stupid to keep the reserved list around, and it simply limits new (and old) players from playing fun and exciting formats, apparently forever, unless they want to mortgage their houses, or deny their children free college educations, win the lottery, or just happen to be well off.
Look at the way Legacy and Vintage are booming on MTGO if you need a simple example.
I'm attempting to update the Daretti 2014 Commander Pre-Con, remaining true to the concept of the deck from the box, focusing on artifacts and abusing the graveyard via Crucible, and Scrap Mastery. I also included Aggressive Mining, utilizing the 'put a land into play' artifact toolbox of Walking Atlas, Burnished Hart and Solemn Simulacrum as well as Terrain Generator to circumvent the 'You cannot play lands' effect in order to gain some more card advantage in order to balance out red's lack of natural card advantage.
I had included Ruination and From the Ashes to try and create a white-prison sort of effect, I thought using about Smokestack, Sphere of Resistance, Tangle Wire, Winter Orb, Static Orb and Unwinding Clock, having the whole disruption suite created an uncomfortable atmosphere where I was the immediate target in most games I sat at, toning down to this more 'passive threat' attitude created a lot more room for political play, though now I'm considering Howling Mine and Font of Mythos to try and create indispensability. I feel as though Daretti allows me enough permanent-based card-draw, that, when combined with the graveyard abusing theme of the deck, seems to give me enough card advantage to pull games. I would be very open to more graveyard and artifact abusive card suggestions.
I am on a bit of a budget, though I am planning on acquiring a Staff of Domination and a Metalworker for this stack soon, I am more than likely never going to be able to afford a Mishra's Workshop.
I am probably going to scale things back a bit and try and fit within both the Multiplayer and the French lists, as most of the cards in the deck from the French list allow for a bit of unfair speed, as well as being prohibitively expensive. (Looking at you City of Traitors, Grim Monolith, Ancient Tomb.)
(Currently Working on acquiring foils for the whole deck, eventually all Japanese and/or foil, this is the current project status, for my records, feel free to PM me if you have any of the cards I'm missing for sale/trade.)
Land (38):
18 Snow-Covered Mountain (5 with 3 incoming, paying $5)
1 Homeward Path (Japanese non-foil incoming)
1 Sandstone Needle (English foil)
1 Temple of the False God (Still need, paying 18)
1 Ancient Tomb (Torn whether or not I'm going to play FTV foils.)
1 City of Traitors (Need one of these, but $60? Idk about that.)
1 Buried Ruin (Still need)
1 Mishra’s Factory (Judge foil is like $50, gonna wait on this.)

1 Scrying Sheets (Need, paying $10)
1 Phyrexia’s Core (English Foil)
1 Darksteel Citadel (English Foil)

1 Great Furnace (English Foil)
1 Dust Bowl ($60! Gonna wait)
1 Encroaching Wastes (Japanese promo foil)
1 Tectonic Edge (Looking for the promo foil, $6)
1 Ghost Quarter (Looking for the Innistrad foil, $5)
1 Wasteland (I want the MPR Foil, but $300? Gonna wait.)
1 Strip Mine (Again, debating the FTV foils, $20 if I do)

4 Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient (Need, $3)
6 Hellkite Tyrant (Need, $8)
7 Rimescale Dragon (Need, $10)
Here is a deck that was printed in Inquest way back in the day (like 2000, 2001 I think?)
It's designed to be the most annoying deck ever.
Artifacts
2 Feldon's Cane (So you can reshuffle Shahrazad and cast her AGAIN!)
Blue
2 Arcane Laboratory (Because playing more than one spell a turn is boring.)
3 Capsize (Bounce with buyback)
3 Forbid (Counterspell with buyback)
2 Time Elemental (Because bouncing permanents is fun)
Red
1 Chaos Moon (Read this card, its hilarious!)
2 Fork (Double your Shahrazad shenanigans!)
1 Soldier of Fortune (Because making someone shuffle their deck every turn is irritating.)
White
1 Divine Intervention (Because playing a half hour long game full of annoying crap isnt fun enough, lets make sure no one wins, EVER!)
3 Enlightened Tutor (So you can find Divine Intervention/Humility/Worship.)
2 Flickering Ward (Because Peacekeeper with Flickering Ward on it and Worship make the game so interactive.)
2 Humility (LOL)
4 Mother of Runes (See flickering ward.)
4 Peacekeeper (Because attacking is boring, and Moats are expensive.)
1 Replenish (Just in case Divine Intervention gets countered.)
1 Shahrazad (Yeah, that *****.)
2 Worship (Because INVINCIBLE!)
Lands
4 City of Brass
5 Island
2 Maze of Ith
3 Mountain
6 Plains
4 Tundra
So, yeah, this is the first deck I ever managed to finish. That and the Halloween deck in the same issue.
You should take a look at some of the duel commander Arbiter lists, it'll give you a direction to go. It just seems to me there isnt much synergy going on here.
More in depth card analysis in coming weeks.
Just trying to get this build down in text.
I'm trying for a Changeling tribal deck, one, to take advantage of Reaper King's 'Lord'-ship, and the sick citp vindicate effect, and two, because they form an interesting tool-box with the tribe specific creatures, 'lords', etc.
I'm most proud of my budget 5-color mana-base, only splurging for Urborg, Mutavault and a pair of Shocks.
I am trying to explore the utility of Urborg a bit more, though I find myself wishing for more versatility out of Crop Rotation.
Any/all suggestions or conceptual ideas are welcome!
I hope you've enjoyed my idea.
I'll try to address each swap card by card, sorry if I miss anything..!
Moat (I've tested this, and I've decided that it is simply to crippling against an aggro deck, and it seemed like a less proactive, just as redundant effect as Gideon, so this came out. That and the one I had was italian and I'd rather have the $200.)
Crib Swap (This was in the original 200 card Winston pile, just time for it to come out!)
Resurrection (Somebody mentioned this card was crap, and I should put mother of runes back in, so I'm trying it... Nice to see it mentioned here)
->
Mother of Runes (The most AMAZING one drop white has ever seen is back, arent you HAPPY?)
Soul Snare (I saw this in the commander decks while I was opening my 5 and decided it might deserve testing over condemn. I dont recall if I removed condemn or not...)
Oblation (It says "target permanent." It also says instant speed divination. I've liked this card since drafting two of them in on/on/on)
Secluded Steppe (I'm trying to power Loam decks up a bit.)
Ajani Goldmane (I tried to cut down to two planeswalkers in each color, but nobody noticed that tezzeret got cut, just that ajani was omitted. So he's back... Nobody cares... My playgroup barely squeaked when I mentioned it, and he sat in a sideboard, BOTH drafts we've done since.)
Decree of Justice (This card has done work three times now, since its inclusion, including a mirari's wake/time walk/decree turn that won me a game.)
Vedalken Anatomist (Local player *****ed at me about this card, it came out.)
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir (Somebody mentioned this guy coming out, and then somebody local ranted at me about how many 3 blue cc cards were in the cube, so this finally come out.)
Mystical Tutor (I never enjoyed casting this spell, though it may go back in)
Impulse (I am honestly trying to slow down blue a bit, control overall, simply because aggro never seems to have enough redundancy, or consistency to be able to put up a really good fight often enough for my preferences)
Condescend (Like crib swap, this was in the original Winston pile and just needed to be removed.)
Tolarian Academy (Never has enough artifact support, and recently went 15th pick...)
Upheaval (After enough rallying locally, this card started seeing less and less priority, until I was finally convinced to put in another 6 drop creature in its place)
Ancestral Vision (This card has been on the chopping block for a while now, it just finally got cut.)
->
Merfolk Looter (Cheap blue creatures, people love them, apparently...)
Magical Hacker (This card combo's with Daddy Jace/ Baby Jace/ Garruk/ Chandra/ Koth (Kinda)/ Venser/ Planeswalkers! READ THE DAMN THING!)
Serendib Efreet (The call was put out, and he came back to the cube!)
Spined Thopter (More efficient small blue guys!)
Sphinx of Jwar Isle (Shrouded Finisher, you asked for him, as did others)
Frost Titan (Upheaval replacement)
Vedalken Shackles (Love this, I simply moved it from artifacts and took the proxy out.)
Opposition (This card seems like it was just missing the whole time it wasnt in the cube, I've loved the effect its had on U/G in the cube!)
Snap (I felt that midrange needed more of a chance, everything was pointing at heavy control or speedy aggro.)
Gifts Ungiven (Intuition is in, and it helps reanimation themes)
Lonely Sandbar (More support for Loam)
Time Spiral (I bought one.)
Sheoldred, Whispering One (Complaints about 7 drops get taken seriously)
Yawgmoth's Bargain (Too slow)
Doom Blade (Snuff out)
Consuming Vapors (Too bulky)
Yawgmoth's Will (Loud mouth with nothing to back it up)
Smallpox (Two black, this card was difficult to place in a deck)
Sign in Blood (See smallpox)
->
Nezumi Shortfang (this was mentioned, apparently people like black 2 drops)
Order of the Ebon Hand (Somebody gave me one of these, it's got an honorary/nostalgia spot!)
Bane of the Living (its like a mini wrath of god, or some bull)
Skinrender (Like ftk, isnt it?)
Juzam Djinn (I bought one.)
Ob Nixilis, the Fallen (5 drops, black didnt have any.)
Necropotence (I love the skull, deal with it.)
Snuff Out (Free is good, right?)
Barren Moor (More support for Loam)
Damnation (This card is just good.)
Unearth (Help out that aggro strategy)
Goblin Wardriver (I hate this card, too many red mana for no real effect.)
Viashino Heretic (Too many artifact removal cards.)
Cunning Sparkmage (this might have been a mistake)
Manic Vandal (Redundancy is nice, but not too much)
Lightning Dragon (Echo made this card bulky)
Crater Hellion (Again, echo)
Hammer of Bogardan (Sorcery, this is no longer the game changer it used to be.)
Earthquake (I felt that starstorm, pyroclasm, and firespout make this card unweildy!)
Slagstorm (Too slow)
->
Keldon Champion (Late game 6 dmg finisher, plus it has synergy with recurring nightmare.)
Bogardan Hellkite (Flash, and synergy with RN)
Rivalry (This card is just fun!)
Sneak Attack (I bought one)
Splinter Twin (Now with twice as much combo!)
Blast from the Past (Isnt this card funny, I like the flavor text!)
Forgotten Cave (More Loam support)
Wheel of Fortune (Draw 7's never go out of style!)
Oracle of Mul Daya (People dont like 4 drops that dont do anything.)
Ant Queen (Same with 5 drops that just trade with 1-for-1 removal)
Indrik Stomphowler (Unwieldy with slime and wickerbough)
Primeval Titan (not as good as other green fattys)
City of Solitude (Just too narrow)
Mwonvuli Acid-Moss (Again, too narrow)
Overrun (idk, another possible mistake?)
->
Scavenging Ooze (Love this mechanic)
Tarmogoyf (Isnt this the best green 2 drop ever?)
Berserk (Love this effect)
Tranquil Thicket (Loam support)
Rude Awakening (Great green finisher)
Ice Storm (Better support for ld strategies)
Symbol Status (Great for U/g)
Tooth and Nail (Always a good finisher, esp with terastodon/clone)
Mortify (Hate this card)
Putrid Leech (same)
Putrefy (Again.)
Trygon Predator (Too clunky?)
->
Stillmoon Cavalier (Bad ass headless zombie knight with a sword instead of hand... why not!)
Spiritmonger (6/6 for 5 with regen?)
Simic Sky Swallower (Shroud finisher, top 3 UG cards ever...)
Cruel Ultimatum (I just think its fun to see this hit the stack.)
Tariel, Reconer of Souls
Karador, Ghost Cheiftain
The Mimioplasm
Runhan of the Fomori
Riku of Two Reflections
( I decided to move around my gold cards, and support one card from each of the 3 color combos...
Lodestone Golem (This, like juggernaut, masticore and phyrexian processor, just seemed like 4 drop artifacts that werent doing enough for their mana.)
Masticore (Just outdated, isnt as efficent a finisher as it used to be.)
Juggernaut (again, outdated.)
Phyrexian Processor (Doesnt do enough quickly enough)
Crystal Ball (too expensive for the effect)
->
Chimeric Idol
Triskelion
Karn, Silver Golem
Darksteel Ingot
Mind Stone
Winter Orb
Scroll Rack
Obelisk of Alara
(Mana artifacts people have been asking for, and other artifacts that either were already proxied in, or were meant to be in for a while now. Karn is the exception, he's in as an experiement.)
4 Lotus Petal
3 Intuition
4 Enlightened Tutor
4 Brainstorm
4 Stifle
4 Hedron Alignment
4 Ponder
3 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Force of Will
4 Scrabbling Claws
4 Flooded Strand
4 Polluted Delta
2 Tundra
4 Island
4 Ancient Tomb
4 Wasteland
Just an idea.
Haven't even fished it yet.

The image is WAY off from what I'm used to seeing.
The font is wrong, and the picture is too large on the card, plus the quality of the image itself.
Any idea what this is worth?

->
->
->
Keldon Champion (Late game 6 dmg finisher, plus it has synergy with recurring nightmare.)
Bogardan Hellkite (Flash, and synergy with RN)
Rivalry (This card is just fun!)
Sneak Attack (I bought one)
Splinter Twin (Now with twice as much combo!)
Blast from the Past (Isnt this card funny, I like the flavor text!)
Forgotten Cave (More Loam support)
Wheel of Fortune (Draw 7's never go out of style!)
Oracle of Mul Daya (People dont like 4 drops that dont do anything.)
Ant Queen (Same with 5 drops that just trade with 1-for-1 removal)
Indrik Stomphowler (Unwieldy with slime and wickerbough)
Primeval Titan (not as good as other green fattys)
City of Solitude (Just too narrow)
Mwonvuli Acid-Moss (Again, too narrow)
Overrun (idk, another possible mistake?)
->
Scavenging Ooze (Love this mechanic)
Tarmogoyf (Isnt this the best green 2 drop ever?)
Berserk (Love this effect)
Tranquil Thicket (Loam support)
Rude Awakening (Great green finisher)
Ice Storm (Better support for ld strategies)
Symbol Status (Great for U/g)
Tooth and Nail (Always a good finisher, esp with terastodon/clone)
Mortify (Hate this card)
Putrid Leech (same)
Putrefy (Again.)
Trygon Predator (Too clunky?)
->
Stillmoon Cavalier (Bad ass headless zombie knight with a sword instead of hand... why not!)
Spiritmonger (6/6 for 5 with regen?)
Simic Sky Swallower (Shroud finisher, top 3 UG cards ever...)
Cruel Ultimatum (I just think its fun to see this hit the stack.)
Tariel, Reconer of Souls
Karador, Ghost Cheiftain
The Mimioplasm
Runhan of the Fomori
Riku of Two Reflections
( I decided to move around my gold cards, and support one card from each of the 3 color combos...
Lodestone Golem (This, like juggernaut, masticore and phyrexian processor, just seemed like 4 drop artifacts that werent doing enough for their mana.)
Masticore (Just outdated, isnt as efficent a finisher as it used to be.)
Juggernaut (again, outdated.)
Phyrexian Processor (Doesnt do enough quickly enough)
Crystal Ball (too expensive for the effect)
->
Chimeric Idol
Triskelion
Karn, Silver Golem
Darksteel Ingot
Mind Stone
Winter Orb
Scroll Rack
Obelisk of Alara
(Mana artifacts people have been asking for, and other artifacts that either were already proxied in, or were meant to be in for a while now. Karn is the exception, he's in as an experiement.)
Dust Bowl (for numbers.)
Horizon Canopy (Again, numbers)
->
Stirring Wildwood
Mutavault
Golgari Rot Farm
Orzhov Basilica
Rakdos Carnarium
Boros Garrison
Izzet Boilerworks
Simic Growth Chamber
Azorius Chancery
Selesnya Sanctuary
Gruul Turf
(Adding the RAV block Karoo's seemed like an easy way to help multicolor decks.)
