Well, because Emrakul has protection from colored spells, you can't just target it with Path because he's not a legal target to begin with. If you really want to use Moonlace to get Emrakul with something, you need to target something else, then Moonlace it, and then use some sort of Shunt effect to make it target Emrakul.
If you're going to run 'tron (the Urza lands), I'd reccomend having some way to get them out of your deck (Tolaria West or Expedition Map are all I can think of right now).
If you're worried about dredge, lay with maindeck leyline of the void (in place of the lotus petals).
Sinkhole isn't particularly good if your opponent are playing competitive vintage decks.
Neither is nantuko shade in this deck -- you'll notice that the dark confidant will keep on givimng you spells to cast, tying up your mana. You will almost have next to no mana to pump the nantuko shade but rather puring your mana into casting spells.
Negator is fine if you're playing against a lot of Ad Nauseam Tendrils. Otherwise, not so great. In a casual environment I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
Thanks for the suggestions, but what could I replace shade/negator with?
Death's Shadow is too dependant on having a low life total, and I don't want this deck to have to depend on that. Carnophage is too small to be a real threat and doesn't have any abilities that compensate for that.
I put casual in quotes because I have friends in my play group who like to like to play legacy/vintage level decks. I want to make a deck that can consistently play against them. I chose Suicide Black because…well…I like it. This deck is a project, so budget isn't an issue. Just don't go suggesting I get P9. That's just not gonna happen. Anyway, here's the list I'm contemplating right now.
There's my list. I'd also like to put together a sideboard for this deck. The decks I'm worried about are my friend's Polymorph and Dredge decks, and another friend's Tendrils storm deck. Thoughts?
If they make a draw 1 rebound card, I have this sneaking suspicion it will cost 2U. One would hope it would be instant. That seems like it could be common.
A card I've been testing for my monored control deck for card draw is Seer's Sundial. I'll need to do more testing to come to any solid conclusions but I suggest you try it out.
Edit: Double 'Nathed.
Auriok Steelshaper
Loxodon Punisher
Umezawa's Jitte (if you can afford them)
Kitesail Apprentice
Skullclamp (if you feel mean)
There are a few more suggestions.
So…something kinda like Wrench Mind?
Mana Echoes adds 1 for each creature the shares a type with the creature that came into play, not just 1 mana.
