    No, it becomes a Permeating Mass. Just like if you attacked your land into a deathtouch guy, it would die.

    But note this isn't just a form of deathtouch, as posted. Sure, you normally don't want to attack into it in the same way that deathtouch affects your decision, but this makes more of itself, which is very interesting. There may be cards which make this not so silly.

    And this dies if you attack into it with your 7/7, but your 7/7 will turn into a 1/3 after.

    I am disappointed at this mechanic. It is another draft anomaly, which the pros won't do the same, which is a bad part of DFC in SOI already. And in the volume we are going to see, it isn't suitable for draft anyway. It is also almost a perfect example of one of the "mistakes" Maro wrote about in his article: Don't do it because you can, do it because the game needs it. The game didn't need this.

    However, I do approve of their risk-taking. I just think this one is a dud.

Thr leaked new mechanic/card has no context, a small, vocal contingent of the online community gets needlessly mad and starts doomsaying, and a potentially decent/good idea goes sour before we even know how it works.
    Perhaps, but I would rather have this than the control. They need to understand they will never have total control; they are the ones creating the "pressure" to leakers.

    I find it very interesting that this does not use colorless mana. That implies no wastes, and no colorless-required other eldrazi, either, since surely they would have gone kozilek on us. Or maybe the "13" text was too tempting?

    When I filter on SOI in the Card Collection, I see cards not in SOI, such as Champion of Arashin and Spined Wurm. These are cards from the Starter Box I guess, as they have the "D" set symbol. There are also SOI cards in the Starter Box, which properly show up in the SOI filter list, also with a "D" symbol. Of course, these don't appear in SOI booster packs. Does anyone know why the filter includes non-SOI cards?

    I haven't checked all sets, but the OGW filter does not include non-OGW cards.

    I am seeing lack of reward for completed quests. I completed the 15 GW spells one today and got nothing (should have been 50 gold).

    I just did "Duplicate" of my old GW deck and changed a few cards, and it worked just fine.

    Glad I didn't see the Prism Array. I managed to get through both new story lines with one loss, that being the Gatewatch one, but I got it on the second try. I did feel that it skipped giving me a chance to play something a couple times, but I can't be sure. I wish the timer was adjustable. I need more than 5 seconds to think.

    I can confirm the missing lands bug. I played a Sylvan Ranger on my ramp deck (from two dual lands), and surprise, it found nothing, 37 cards in the library to start. So a huge bug there; it makes constructed unplayable. I had edited the deck just before, to put in some new cards and take out those stupid Perilous Myr replacements. In a deck I had not edited since the change, I had a full 60.

    I have seen no crashes on my iPad pro. This is a big difference from the prior build, where I was having lots of crashing issues. But this is only after a day or so of occasional play.

    I am pleased with some of the changes and fixes. Being able to shrink the huge dialog boxes so you can see your hand or battlefield is a plus. The subtle changes to UIs to include all sets and colorless lands and so on is good.

    Thanks for the reply. I got the "we heard you" response from Wotc, but nothing after that. Curiously, my system succeeded in starting a few hours later, and I was able to use it before the update. But the next attempt to start repeated the same crash. Then during the day yesterday, I was getting "could not connect to server", so I hoped that was a good sign. After about a bazillion retrys (once every half hour or so), it got through and updated. I haven't tried to restart it since then! It has been pretty stable, I have done all the story lines and bought 4 boosters. Crossing my fingers it starts the next time I have to kill it. But usually, if I doesn't kill itself, I leave it running in the background.

    I am seeing a lot of game bugs in the new release, but that is for another thread.

    Thanks, this was quite enlightening. I am very surprised by the cards that are missing. I took my pile from the paper pre-release, and found a bunch that were not in that image. Things like Dual Shot, Magmatic Chasm (is that already in Duels?), Gibbering Fiend, Skin Invasion, and so on. Not cards I would have expected them to drop. I can't find any particular pattern, but discard outlets seem to be lighter in particular.

  • posted a message on Magic Duels crashing on startup on iPad
    Over the past few days, every time I have tried to start Duels on my iPad pro, it crashes on the initial screen (where the two vendor logos are). The little spinning fireball takes a couple moves and then stops, and poof, the whole thing is gone. I was seeing crashes like this before, but a second attempt always seemed to clear it. Now it is permanent. I upgraded iOS to 9.3.1 to see if that would fix it, but there is no difference. Since I know of no way to diagnose this on an iPad, I just wanted to ask if there has been any Duels server glitches or anything that might cause this outside of my machine.

    I will also be complaining to customer support, but I am wondering if anyone here is in the same boat.
