I'd have imprinted dig, thirst turn two, still have tutor for the inevitable black mana source at some point. But that's only if I kept, which you could easily mulligan this hand.
My understanding is that it is Hasbro and not WotC that is forcing the reserved list to continue. They don't want to deal with the legal issues if the Reserved List is scrapped. Even if, as others have said, they would win a court case brought by investors/card speculators, it's money wasted and bad PR for them.
They would not win the court case. And no CEO is going to sign off on a plan to intentionally get their company sued for 10s of millions, while answering to angry shareholders who want to know who agreed to such an idiotic scheme.
You sure know a lot of specifics about something that no one seems to know any specifics about
This would actually limit deckbuilding to a drastic degree since almost every deck should be nothing but mana accel and counterspells/removal; just use any two generals who infinite combo together as your win con rather than diluting your deck.
There are definitely a few legends I feel should have some sort of exception, such as the two halves of Brisela, Voice of Nightmares, but as a general rule of having all legends combine with all other legends this is only fair at the very most casual level.
Is a good thing we are talking about casual play then.
fwiw, I've been brewing something called "the odd couple" where every legendary creature has partner, but your two commanders must share a creature type but not a color. This was born out of wanting to pair ink eyes with higure, but had proven fun otherwise as well
I would play a bonnie and Clyde format. I think the most precious thing I've ever read was commander players passing on a format because it's too aggressive.
I didn't realize you played for "a dozen of years". That's a long time, though it doesn't seem to qualify you to declare legacy as a healthy format which is in no danger of dying. You know what else we used to have? Extended. And vintage. And about seventy five casual formats that no one plays anymore. You know who doesn't care that no one plays any of those formats? WotC. Say it with me now, standard. Standard is the format they care about. Standard. Stop being naive. Or if you insist, then at least spare us from it. I've played magic for dozens of weeks, so you know what I say carries a lot of significance....
I cut Teferi's Puzzle Box about 1,5 year ago I think. There aren't that many combo players in my meta, and I found that it was handing my opponents the solutions to the problems I gave them. For me, it was very counterproductive.
I see that. I may have been over valuing the box based on my meta
The box is must have for me. Much too often I'm looking at a hand full of irrelevant cards and the box does remarkable things for that. I originally built this deck in 2012 and I remember it being a boss. The list struggles to keep up with my edric deck these days, mostly due to just looking at so many derpy cards. Anything that refreshes our hand continually seems like it should stick around.
Edit: I thought I had quoted someone about using the puzzle box. My post made more sense that way.
