Sep 2, 2015Talore posted a message on The Magic Street Journal: Glitter, Gimmicks, and Glamours - Wizards' Reprint ShenanigansPosted in: ArticlesQuote from halahel »Magic is not, and was never intended to be, a game for the budget-minded. Luckily, thanks to its excellent design, you can still play on a shoestring; but the complaint that all players "need" to have access to SDCC or Zendikar Expeditions promos -- when the normal, equally playable versions are available at a fraction of the cost -- is ridiculous. Wizards intentionally makes these products scarce to appeal to their most valuable customers: the people who order cases and have been sinking money into this game for 20 years.
- Pretty sure Magic was originally intended as something that you could play during the breaks of a D&D session, and thus budget-friendly. See also Arabian Nights almost having different card backs.
- I really don't think the author was making the argument that everyone should have SDCC promos and the like. She was just observing how many players feel regarding those sorts of promos.

A few years, at least. It might have been with either M10 or M11, but I wasn't able to find a citation.Quote from NinStarRune »Oh. :x When did they change that? -

M14, and thus Garruk, Caller of Beasts, is Standard-legal until Khans of Tarkir enters Standard. Core sets only rotate with Fall releases now.Quote from NinStarRune »Also...Garruk, Caller of Beasts isn't in Standard any more. Sorry. -

Hello, and welcome to my first EDH deck! I haven't played EDH, so I don't really understand the dynamics of the format. Anyway, the concept is to use Zur to beat for 21 damage. I try to make him invincible to removal, with vanishing/Flickerform, Pemmin's Aura, Steel of the Godhead, and various other pumps. I have no clue what ratio of colours I should have, or how many lands I should have. Could someone help?
Noel deCordova's friend just pwned every nonbeliever in this thread. Obviously you swing for 23+ damage.
Did anyone realise you can stack the order of cards that mirror places into your deck?
Try to get any Mishras workshops if you can, also a darksteel forge? =P
