The reason Modern flourished is because Legacy had a reserve list that made it impossible for price control and deck prices went through the roof. Nothing in Modern is on the reserve list (just like this "Frontier" format), so you don't get any real benefit from switching to Frontier from Modern. Frontier is only budget right now because it doesn't have a following.
If it ever gets as popular as Modern... it will be just as expensive. (from what I understand, it's this pricing that is driving the whole "Frontier" movement)
What about playing Stitcher's Graft from the new set? For 2 colorless mana, you can unequip and send a creature to the yard for recursion. Additionally, if you attach it to Court Hussar/Sun Titan, the "unable to untap" aspect is not a big deal because they have Vigilance.
I had Zo-zu in my sideboard because I love playing surprise cards that nobody expects that can have a crushing effect on the game state. I was primarily thinking it to be Scapeshift Tech, but I sided it in against an opponent using the Coralhelm/Reliquary combo. Plus I was thinking that if I made Top 8 the card might shoot up to $15 and I could sell all my Zo-zus for a cool profit
My use of the Bridge against Abzan was a complete surprise for my opponent... I won the first game, so I sided them in hoping to catch him off-guard. I don't know if I would have left them in if the match went to game 3 (because then he would have known to side in removal at that point, and I would have been on the play so I could play more aggressively). Afterwards, my opponent admitted to siding out Abrupt Decay during the second Game, so when I dropped the Bridge, his only hope of killing me was playing Siege Rhinos (it almost worked). His Voice of Resurgence/tokens sat there helplessly until I drew into all the necessary burn.
I honestly wouldn't have made it as far as I did without it. The Bridge literally won me two matches (Abzan and Merfolk). Both opponents had me dead to rights with a gajillion creatures on the board... then I dropped this beautiful artifact on the board. I was in complete topdeck mode against the Merfolk player, and his creatures sat there helplessly while I drew (and played) three consecutive lands before casting the game-ending Lava Spike.
The tournament went 10 rounds (I can post all my matchups if anyone actually cares), but I wanted to add that Mardu burn is extremely underrated...
I prefer Bump instead of Atarka's Command simply because Bump is a one drop. I missed out on a Top 8 once because I had a Boros Charm in hand with 3 lands on the field (opponent was at 7)... and I topdecked a two mana burn spell. That one mana can make all the difference.
While 50$ isn't that much cash, let's do a bit of math.
Top 8 gets some amount of money, 9-16 get 100 bucks, 17-32 get 50$, that's already 1600$ outside top 8. As I don't have info on the tournament fees, I can state that 600 player room can easily cost 5-12k$ in rent, and most likely top 8 gets 3.2k$ in prices, if the prize structure is even. Judges, scorekeepers and other people who make the tournament tick also need to be paid, so that's additional 5k$.
So considering it's regionals, I think that while the pay-out vpropably could be better, it's still reasonable considering that regionals are supposed to be a step below GP. It sucks that some regionals are 600+ players wehn others are 100+, but them's the breaks.
Considering that I had to pay a $40 entry fee and $15 to park my car... the fact that I technically lost money after grinding out 10 full rounds of play feels like a slap in the face. StarCity should either up the prizes, give out more SCG points, or do something when certain quotas are hit.
The FoW on the left is one I've had for a while... and the one of the right is the card I suspect is a forgery. If you look at the font, you can see that the letters are thicker on the card on the right where it says "Interrupt" and "Force of Will".
Was this a common inconsistency in printing? Or is that a bona fide fake?
Excuse me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't that guy get first priority?
If as soon as his beginning phase began you said "I'm casting Silence" without giving him ANY opportunity to play anything, I think he should be allowed to say "well I didn't have a chance to assert my first priority yet" and cast the elf

I'm confused if it rotates this Friday or if it's the last day you can use it. Thanks.

What a joke.

What happens?
Zap
damage dealt by the creature also causing its controller to gain that much life...
AND
whevenever the creature deal damage, you gain that much life.
I'm told that the wordings somehow make a difference.
