My BW tokens, RDW, and RG werewolves are completely unaffected by this card. That means only my competition is being slammed. Less variety in tier 1 decks = less varied responses, loosens up my SB, etc.
IMO, standard play is for competitive players. There are plenty of other less expensive and less strict formats where having fun is more important, standard is about winning. This card helps my decks do that. Go play commander if you want to have fun/socialize/show creativeness. That's where I go when Im not wanting to flex my nerd muscles.
If standard is meant for competitive players and you are one of them why are you playing RG Werewolves?
Ive had too many bad experiences using wurmcoil engine lately only to see an Ancient grudge tear apart the tokens. Also, our new land makes the LL/DT on the tokens somewhat redundant, again degrading the value of wurmcoil. As stated though, time will tell if red remains a prevalent color among the top decks.
I still dont understand why youre trying to push Bkeeper so hard. Everyone else seems to have agreed that in our current aggro based meta he is lackluster. Even in a control based meta, he will be destroyed, exiled, or bounced back to your hand before you can even think about reaching five tokens. No evasion on a 3/3 body for four mana. No thanks.
Yes against aggro he is lackluster but against control and ramp he is great hence why he is in the sideboard for those matchups.

How is that a powerful play?.
Please try to add more to the conversation in the future. -- Sabett

So if Hero isn't good enough for most competitive RDW lists how is this good enough?.
I'd imagine will see it in alot of sideboards in the near future in all formats.
But Hero has evasion this is just a vanilla 3/3 with haste so Hero is still better in RDW.
Regardless this card is utter crap and will end up in the $1 bin along with most of the other rares in this set.
Yes in RDW Hero of Oxid Ridge is just going to be better most of the time.
Overall I think there is a good chance it will at least see some play in standard.
Disgustingly good will see play in every format.
It shuts down Dredge in Legacy and Vintage as well as all Reanimator strategies in all formats.
The fact you can tutor for this with Trinket Mage makes it even more absurd.
