I'm the worst player on my team as well, by a fairly wide margin - Silver IV player (only Silver tier player) on a Gold III team. It can be pretty harsh - but if they want you to play with them, that's good, right? Also, you're probably playing one role on the ranked team, which gives you an opportunity to learn that role really well against much better competition than usual.
My approach was basically - the role that I play on the team, I main that in solo queue. Because I get to practice it against much higher tier players on a regular basis, I'm much better at it than is implied by my Silver IV ranking. I've fallen out of practice on other roles, so I tend to lose as them (Jax is really strong right now, though!), and sometimes lose when another ADC main lands on my team, but tend to win when I get ADC. Result: I'm a reasonable contributor on my team and stable in solo queue.
This is what I do. I've been maining top as Singed, with a bit of Yorick, and I plan on trying AP/Mpen Mundo for the lulz to see how that works. It just sucks to suck and not feel like you're getting any better. And I know that in Solo Q if I end up being the one to ban we are losing.
We look at the Elos of the opposing teams during the loading screen, see that they have a lower average Elo, then don't take the game seriously. That's the sort of behavior that got us to lose a few game 1s of new ranked teams
I'm also pleasantly surprised when I find out the Elos of the opponents are much lower than expected for the amount of coordination/skill they displayed in the game. Just goes to show how much people skill/psychology has to do with the game.
The problem with *my* ranked team is that I suck but they keep trying to get me to play with them and I always end up feeding because I'm Bronze III and my team is Silver V (which I know isn't super good but it's still better than I am). Then I get yelled at. Feelsbadman.jpg
I won't bother going into a diatribe about it though, i think I am a minority. I wouldn't have minded GW1 all over again with updated graphics and larger/more elaborate instances.
I agree! I feel like I would have just wanted more of the same, but I'm also loving GW2.
I'm having a blast. My guardian is level 56 now and I'm still going strong. The storyline is kinda weird at first, but around level 30 it picks up and gets super good.
The first guy to level 80 made it through crafting. It kind of irks me, but the game is designed to give you about 10 levels worth of experience for putting a trade skill into grandmaster levels.
WHAT. HOW ARE YOU ALREADY LEVEL 56?!
I mean I know there's already a few 80s, but good god man.
Playing a level 22 sylvari necro atm, loving the game. Taking my sweet time and clearing zones.
Actually the guy who hit 80 leveled to 60 normally, then crafted to 80 while his guildies funneled him supplies.
And August 25th is the date for prepurchasers! I can't contain my excitement for this game. Last beta weekend is July 20-22nd, and I think I'll stick to WvW for that one.
Gonna have to call off of work the week of the the 25th, time to drop outta life.
How are any of those 'not old' pokemon when they were in the very first generation games ಠ_ಠ
Sorry for the lack of clarity. I meant it should have just more 1st gen ones, probably just because those are the ones I loved as a kid. Never really cared for the newer incarnations of Pokemon.
I wish the first 'super epic awesome' skin was for a champ I played. It's so cool though, I'm considering buying Ez just to buy the skin.
Yeah, me too. I might have to get him before they release the skin on sale, it's just way too cool. On sale it's only about $15, and I've never spent money on this game so I don't feel *too* bad.

....and I have to work tonight.
Making my sweet way through the content, loving it.

Got to see a lot of great poppunk bands. I LOVED Transit's set.

I would only consider a handful of those to be truly "old" pokemon. Needs more gen 1 pl0x.
Hopefully I'll have a DS by then.
