Adding black to Boros decks in block is something I'm allready toying with. I could see this being good there with both doomed traveler's and occationally fiend hunters that want's to be sacrificed.
Both art and flavor text is pretty sweet for what it's worth.
Not sure if someone else posted this but BRW stax seems completely legitimate with disciple of grislebrand and falkenrath aristocrat. y'know saccing fiend hunters and the like in response to there ability. then getting huge like ecksbawks village cannibals. and remember, we havent even seen a quarter of DKA yet.
Well. this really comes with two questions I guess. Do any of the topdecks get ruined by similar hate cards? and if so which of those are modern playable and how can we best utilize them? I truely hate the inability for most control decks to hold up against the combo and beatdown decks clogging the meta right now, and the best way I can think of to deal with this is making a deck that can during or after game one throw down enough disrupt to slow down the combo deck while keeping pace with the fastest decks in the format.
Does anyone have any idea how one could go about doing this?
I'd have to agree here; I think Extraction is the last card in my sideboard that I'd run against RDW.
I find it to be decent vs RDW. it doesnt take an awful lot to slow them down and make it hard for them to keep up the pressure. and one of the ways to disrupt them the hardest is make them draw more of those probably only 20 mountains they are playing.
Here is a plausible situation.
Starting hand for RDW: stromkirk noble, 2 mountians, 1/1 bloodthirst for 2 (2 copies), and one piece of burn and a sided in who really cares.
He plays stromkirk. you wring flesh it when he attempts to attack. he plays the first bloodthirst guy. you removal it and follow that up with a surgical extraction. You have for three cards removed 3 of his cards and severely(sp?) increased his chance of drawing a land and stalling out while you get your deck moving. I dont see any situation in which that is a bad card for any deck that has to deal with a meta that includes hard as hell to remove creatures or combo, or control.
@apocolypse. crazy find. I dont see the staff being worth it even though I SOOO want it to be. if your rockin that I think flayer husk due to it being a body would be better spent. but Im far from being a great deck builder. or even decent really.
@ zephynoir: I've been playing it with your whole land setup and with very few things changed. and it has been beaten some face for me on MWS.threw two of the metamorphs in sb. took out the fog thing and put curiosity as a 2 of in sb and brought in 3 zeniths and 4 of the delvers without cutting any of the stalkers and I personally have had a pretty good showing with it
delver beats the dog**** out of metamorph. for one mana you most likely recieve a 3/2 flyer. how you could see that as not amazing in this deck where you can sit back and counter everything and just beat in with him and whomever you drop on your two slot just doesnt make any sense to me what so ever. it might not get all 3 (after flip) from the dagger, but it is an all around more solid creature in a U aggro deck.
As for the 2 mana instant or the prospective sweeper I dont get why you would rather take away 2 from each creature rather than use your draw power and card advantage to its fullest and win on the back off it after blowing up the board should they over extend then draw a ton of cards make more attackers faster and such.
What is the logical reason to not play those cards?
my typing is effed up because my right arm was dislocated for the first time two days ago and im ridiculously high on roxicet.

Is it just me, or does it seem pretty weird that in the total 183 cards we have seen as of this post there are only 11 cards that are technically removal not attached to creatures. 4 are rare or mythic rare making them something your probably not going to be able to find. another 4 of them are extremely narrow such as Victim of night or dont really count as decent removal like geistflame. and the last 3 are Into the maw of hell, brimstone volley (The only decent one imo) and corpse lunge (extremely dependent on your graveyard and having fatties in it).
Is it just me or is there a decent chance that the removal in this draft set will suck balls?
I properly patched my mws with this patch but now, whenever i try to play my WW human deck, it shows no deck in the loader when I try to play with it. I can load ANY of the other decks I have with cards from INN and they work just fine, but it seems INN is broken. Anyone have any ideas?
I love this deck. It seems like the nuts. also if you added stone rain BBE would be a great inclusion. could also put in the engine for burnwillows. Nothing really comes to mind for me for any draw engines.
Yes, you can fire off the Urza lands but can you answer the Blood Moons, Tectonic Edges, and Ghost Quarters aimed at them? Plus you have no forest in your list.....
Just wondering, that is all.
With the yavimaya coast the signet and the breeding pool i've been having NO problems gettin it. I understand it looks kinda janky but in all honestly I think I did VERY well with this list. Recently I added in Pestermite and deceiver exarch
I was wondering, do you know of a better SB card than angel's grace though? preferably in U or G.
Well, after having spent a ridiculous amount of time lately combing through this forum and seeing all of the decks built I started to get curious as too why I was the only one who I'd seen with this idea, maybe I didnt see the post containing this because it was buried, or maybe I FOR ONCE have found something that could be very awesome. so now the list I am using
In this deck there are three ways to combo off. firstly there is Kiki,Jiki and Blightsteel against an open board or pull out kiki, jiki and primeval titan. Or alternatively I can just pull out mindslaver and academy ruins and hard lock them out.
Reasons for why I chose my sideboard cards: Angel's grace: can save your butt against dragonstorm and ad nauseum combo decks, and elves if you can slow it down enough. repeal: Its an amazing card against a TON of different decks, from artifact combo decks to zoo decks in the form of bouncing there goyf and going off next turn, can also get rid of pesky Vedalken Shackle's Ghost Quarter: NO YOU BURNWILLOWS! also can force a Mana screw if the opponent was silly and played too many nonbasics. can also sneaky cheats some more tron parts into play:cool2: Mindbreak Trap: Elves and storm decks just cant deal with it most of the time. it can be just so monstrously back breaking. Trinisphere: Ruins zoo's day.
If anyone has any form of constructive criticism or anything too add in any way please say so! I would truely appreciate it.

Reason why I'm not playing deceiver exarch.
1. I've had Kiki,Jiki, Mirror Breaker killed far too many times at instant speed in response too it.
2. I would not be amazing If it started getting some serious sideboard hate sometime soon, what with everyone on that combo's nuts.
3. So I can be a cool kid (I guess.)

You create ridiculous card advantage with Grove of the Burnwillows and Punishing Fire. Then hopefully you get a Quirion Dryad to stick around for a turn or two all the while going through your deck fairly quickly with the preordian and the ponders. Its kinda like the old miraclegrow decks except with a jankier mana base and I'm sure some suboptimal card choices.
Any questions or statements are much appreciated as long as there meant to help in one way or another.
Honestly im not sure if this has been posted yet or not because i made it to page 2 before i had to say this but...
IMO broodmate isnt as strong in this deck as sphinx of jwar isle.
The sphinx is immune to any removal they could attempt to cast on 1-3 lands and broodmate is not. of course it will cost them 2 cards to do it but might as well keep those cards dead in there hand. If your only gonna play 1 playset of a creature IMO sphinx would be better for ya.

agreed. It would probably help me out a ton.
@Rahnihl: I disagree. The urza lands are helping me out a tons and i'm able to hardcast it pretty early in the game
