Yeah, you can't justify be playing black Infect without Skittles. He would top off the curve pretty well IMO. All in all looks pretty cool, I might have to proxy this deck up and give it a spin
Well I use Inferno Titan cause we dont really have any other good 6 drops asid from wurmcoil... I could take him out for something but dont know what. Also KOTH DOES NOT NEED TO BE PROTECTED! Play him, bash em for 4, and if he lives a another turn or not doesn't matter. We are playing red, we dont have a lot of ways to efficiently protect him... unless your suggesting battle rampart or some such wallish thing? The thing is this:
In this deck, KOTH AND CHANDRA ARE DISPOSABLE RESOURCES! We shouldnt give 2 ☺☺☺☺s what happens to him as long as he resolves. He resolves, then he's done his job: applying pressure and forcing the opponent to answer him or get ☺☺☺☺wrecked. Same with chandra. You guys need to stop with this weird logic that the only way to play walkers is if you can protect them adequately (except jace cause you can just brainstorm and forget about him)... maybe in other decks this is the case but in this deck they are just a disposable resource much like our burn.
Oh and I'm not playing Searing Blaze cause.... Idk... thats actually a good idea lol. Ill slap that sucker in and take out the random 3 dudes I have.... and again, I played them cause I had them. Tuktuk is actually not terrible, neither is Kazuul but the Charger does suck.
cbus05, you just posted a bad RDW list in the Mythic thread... try the RDW thread. Removing Goblin Guide from any ol RDW deck does not a Mythic Red deck make.
Since your deck sucks I'll post a good list Lord Contierre posted a few pages back:
Yeah I hate to break it to you, but Koth is nutso. If you can afford him, then get him. I've been playing 4 and hes never failed to help me. I've only tested agianst U/G/R Turboland Destructive force and a cute lil Kor Spiritdancer deck thats about to lose o-ring, trace, mesa enchantress, hierarch, etc. so its really not very competitive. Tomorow I will try to battle a Mimic Vat control deck and some RDW. But yeah, this deck is playing pretty sweet so far.
Hmm this looks very interesting. Deprive is a good suggestion, also maybe Mana Leak? You just need something cheap to stall/protect the Architect until you get the combo together.
Eh Outside of limited I don't think he'll see any play. While 3 -1/-1 counters he dishes out dissuades chump blocks and 3 poison counters a turn is nothing to scoff at, It seems to me that hes just a little too slow. Maybe if he costed 1 mana less or had a 2 toughness.... but as he is I just don't see a need for him. Especially in the 4 drop slot with the Hand, arguably our most important card.
Some of you are forgetting that outside of Putrefax and Skittles, the Infect creatures are all either very tiny or 1 or 2 mana overcosted. Besides with Doom Blade, Bolt, DoJ, Clasm, Journey, and the plethora of removal spells I didn't list here most decks wont have a problem with Infect creatures; either their Vengevines and Baneslayers are big enough to block favorably (Baneslayer, at least for a bit) or don't care about dying (Vengevine). Seriously people settle down.
I really like this idea and I applaud you for thinking outside the box. Honestly with Path, Pulse, and Terminate all rotating out of standard soon, I think this deck could actually have a chance. That being said it seems very "goldfishy" and a bit gimmicky, relying on a hand with demon to do anything; otherwise your stuck with a bunch of crappy little guys. I think you should expand on the vampire subtheme with Captivating Vampire to give them some more oomph in case you dont draw the big D right off the bat. Pretty interesting idea, keep me posted.
Well most people have said it but I'll chime in anyway. Comparing Garruk and Koth is like comparing a sports car to a pickup truck. Yes the sports car is faster and the truck is tougher, buts that not the point; they are inherently different cards, with different abilities that are not related at all. So theres really no point to this, as you will never see a Deck Tech with LSV or Chapin and hear him say "Well I like Koth but Garruk is just better, so I took him instead." Hopefully at least lol.
Goblin Tunneler is a bit of a trap card IMO... he is the same cost as fiend so either your delaying the bashing or your playing him later; in both cases Goblin Guide is better. My build currently:
Yeah, Chandra's Spitfire deserves at least some testing. I'm not sure if its better or worse than fiend, but neither of them are as bad as ritual. At least they don't give your opponent 2-for-1s like your example above.

Since your deck sucks I'll post a good list Lord Contierre posted a few pages back:
3 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
21 Mountain
Creatures
4 Kargan Dragonlord
3 Wurmcoil Engine
2 Inferno Titan
1 Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs
1 Tuktuk the Explorer
1 Hellkite Charger
4 Everflowing Chalice
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Staggershock
4 Burst Lightning
4 Koth of the Hammer
2 Chandra Nalaar
2 Comet Storm
There ya go. The 3 1 ofs are some random big red guys I had lying around. So far I have drawn these conclusions:
-Wurmcoil Engine is actually a lot better than I imagined. Trading with Primeval Ttian and getting some additional dudes is nice.
-Koth is sicknasty. old news, really. Definite 4 of.
-Chandra 1.0 is MUCH better than I remembered... t4 Koth t5 Chandra is like a dreamteam... so yeah. At least try her.
-Inferno Titan kinda sucks... just so far thats been my experience. He comes down, bolts something, then gets pawned.
Just my 2 cents
4 Scalding Tarn
2 Misty Rainforest
2 Arid Mesa
9 Mountain
9 Island
4 Goblin Guide
4 Goblin Arsonist
4 Kiln Fiend
4 Plated Geopede
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Burst Lightning
4 See Beyond
4 Distortion Strike
2 ??
Sorry this is off the top of my head... See beyond is for regassing, and its been pretty nice so far. I'm looking at preordain and fling mainly....
