Pretty good suggestion; I will let the rest of the staff know and make a decision.

Jan 31, 2016The first one (IMO) would be more helpful, but you need to "advertise" it as to get as many users as possible to make it relevant.Posted in: Mobile Apps
The second, is just a trade app (the way you describe it). It may be more helpful in the long run. Good luck to you!
Jan 25, 2016Duxx posted a message on Pauper - Is it possible that in influences prices?I was against Grenade being banned. Now that Cloud is, it's s bit easier to swallow. I pretty much agree with the ban list, albeit it being so short. As much as other's will disagree, I believe Gray Merchant belongs on that list. He is too powerful for the format IMO, and I would't be surprised if his (online) price keeps trending upwards.Posted in: Market Street Café
Jan 25, 2016Duxx posted a message on Pauper - Is it possible that in influences prices?Chainer's Edict is used in a few pauper decks. Great card as it comes back late game. I've had it played against me in decks from Elves to Tron. If you can splash it usually gets a spot in the 75. I believe it's a staple in MBC now and also UB Delver.Posted in: Market Street Café
I can see pauper having some impact on card prices (paper and MTGO) as casual MTG is still one of the most popular formats out there. Obviously it will never have the impact that standard or modern have, but I'm positive you can find cards that have gone up in value due to pauper. Hell, Nettle Sentinel is 3.5 tix online, and over $2 (median price) for cardboard.
Dec 9, 2015By all means it can be discussed, as long as the topic stays on track. For the MLB, it is the Red Sox/Mets (Yankee fan here) Just wondering how the Yankees "bought" their Championships in the 90's? Those teams, for the most part were from the farm system/trades. Sure we paid Jeter, Rivera, etc handsomely but they weren't "bought" in free agency. That was all homegrown talent. Thank You Gene Michael & Buck Showalter.

Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen is a thing even though it doesn't work so well with Collected Company I think its still probably playable as like a 2x of. Not everything has to be playable with company. The idea is to keep the targets high but a few misses are still optional with company.
Daen could work, but it still costs one more that the Archdruid, and he does double duty. I still feel ramp is the most important to get the finisher into play.
Jun 30, 2015I love the concept, but I feel the deck needs (is missing) 2 important things:Posted in: Standard Archives
Ramp and a Lord for the pump effect
Gaea's Revenge can end the game if you can ramp out. Elvish Archdruid would be another awesome addition to put the deck over the top.

Still, it's a crap shoot. This deck is fun but it isn't the WW decks of yesteryear. The deck is missing a card or 2 to put it over the top. FNM? Yea, 2 tons of fun to play, so many variations with different splashes. T1? Not yet, but it isn't that far off.

Did you pay with Goods or gift? If gift, take the half and run, if goods, you have a legitimate shot at recouping your money or getting replacement cards.

This is an excellent decklist, the only change I would make is swapping the seizes and the SiB. I would rather have the seizes MB, so you can see what your opponent is playing G1, then make your adjustments for G2&3

thanks for the fast reply btw
Not to sound like a jerk, not enough lands is a new players biggest issue with deck building. No one likes to draw mana when you need an answer, but FlashLepord22 hit your biggest issue. Playing creatures/spells that cost 5cmc+ usually need 23-25 lands to make the deck successful. You don't want to have high costing things in your hand without being able to play them. If you look at the rest of the decklists posted in this thread, most of them max out at 4cmc (Whip) and decks like that can get away with playing 21-22 mana sources. This deck is fast, but not hyper-aggro, so if your going to play 2+ Gray Merchant's yea, you need to have at least 23 lands, and I feel 23 is being greedy.
Jan 10, 2015Posted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from Kekule_the_Magician »
What I meant earlier was how could it possibly matter for a person to have a few cards over the curve? By definition everyone is going to have some cards in their deck that are above their average cmc for the deck. That's just how averages work. It reminds me of a headline I once saw that said, "50% of schools in America are below average." *facepalm
I don't but that's just the way I built my deck. I built my deck so that 4cmc is the "top" of the curve. So, if I'm holding a 5cmc spell/creature and I'm stuck on 3-4 mana, it's essentially a dead card. You are correct that it's how averages work, but you don't want to leave it up to "averages" You want your deck to perform better than average on a consistant basis.
But, I can see how keeping a lower average overall will help the tempo of the deck. That's why I wanted to throw in more Gnarled Scarhide and Despise. That gives me more options turn 1/2. I have the 2-drop minotaurs too (Deathbellow Raider & Felhide Brawler) but I have a hard time justifying their use. I can never imagine a situation where I'd actually activate Deathbellow's regen for 3 mana. The whole point of him is to get out as a 2-drop, and then I plan on using future mana for more minotaurs. Felhide Brawler isn't very stellar with only 2 toughness too. So both 2-drop minotaurs just come with extra baggage.
You usually wouldn't use the regen, and just looking at Felhide & Deathbellow they are just "vanilla" creatures. But look at this:
T2 Deathbellow swing for 2
T3 Rageblood, swing for 6
So, by T3 you just smacked your opponent for 45% of his life total. A 2/2 for 2 is pretty good in a tribal deck.
Still I'd be interested to hear opinions on Oracle of Bones. Would people be more apt to pay tribute or not, and what factors would affect your decisions? I know one person above mentioned that they would never give their opponent the chance to cast things for free.
Thank you all for the suggestions so far.
I don't feel the card is that good. Even if the tribute is paid, it's basically a vanilla 5/3 without evasion. Is it terrible? No, not in the least, but there are better options.
Jan 9, 2015In an aggro deck, unless you have ways to vomit mana, you really want to keep your CMC at 4 or below. Lava Axe & Flurry of Horns are both at 5, hence above the curve. But if they are working for you, then by all means play them.Posted in: Standard Archives
The Ragebloods, Petrifiers, Ragemongers and Scarhides should all be 4-0f's. The rest of the deck can be fiddled with.
Tonight my all star in 2 games was Mogis's Marauder. Although not a Minotaur, he just wins games. I made a late decision to add them in place of Deathbellow Raider

Jan 9, 2015Maurauder & Boon or Erebos (IMO) is the most important cards in the deck. I don't run Herald of Torment in my 75, but depending what you have in the deck, I would either cut Tormented Hero or Pain Seer.Posted in: Standard Archives

Jan 9, 2015For starters, the decktags work when you put your cards vertical:Posted in: Standard Archives
4x Card 1
4x Card 2
3x Card 3
Now as for your suggestions:
Flurry of horns is above the curve, as is Lava Axe. The Whip is an auto include of at least 2, I run 3 and shoud be the top of your curve. You are correct by saying Fanatic of Mogis is "lackluster" It was a powerhouse when Boros Reckoner was legal in Standard, but not so much now. Kragama Warcaller is a 5cmc beast, but with Ragemonger on the field it's is a 3cmc finisher.
Jan 7, 2015Posted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from Kahmos »Here is my Minotaur Devotion list, please tell me what you guys think!
Aside from what I already wrote on this, I actually like how the tribal lord makes the fanatic a five power creature, which makes it better on the ground versus siege rhino. Having access to Fated Conflag is also good against Siege Rhino as well.
Your list more resembles a Mono Red Devotion list then a Minotaur tribal deck. With that said, a mono version will not survive in today's meta. I feel that a 2 color list (B/R) is the optimal deck to play. doesn't have access to the removal that does. Also Whip of Erebos and Felhide Petrifier are auto includes in any Minotaur deck.

Pain Seer is the best creature of the deck(as Bloodsoaked Champion and Herald of Torment), I'd never use less than 4... Ok, he has a target on his head, but it provides too much advantage to me...
Yeah, sometimes the self dmg is a problem(against Mono Red), but against tier decks it is not too bad... A Fountain is not a bad idea, I already used it on the past... removed because sometimes the colorless mana was a problem(needed 2 black manas for turn 2 play two 2/1 dudes, this was not uncommon situation), but I'll try again...
Whip? Does it works good for you? I did not had so good experience with it... It deals 4 dmg with Pain Seer(against mono red it is bad, after side pain seer goes to side), costs 4(really slow, sometimes I just dont cast it because the 4th mana delays too much), the reanimation hability is really weak on this deck(c'on, pay 4 for reanimate a 2/1 dude that dies on EOT?). Well, I dont see how it can be better tha Herald or Master(unless when I'm on red zone and have mana and creatures for abuse it)?
Urborg is bad, helps to fix 3 color manabase(that uses black, obviously).
Dec 19, 2014If you ask me, there's too much life loss in your deck; Pain Seer, potential 8 from Thoughtseize and 4 from Boon. With only getting a possible 4 back from Pharika's Cure, I don't see it working out too well for you. Before Pain Seer, I would play 2-3 Sign in Blood, as you can potentally send the last 2 dmg to your opponent to finish them off.Posted in: Standard Archives
Just my .02, I would add 2x Whip in the Main for Herald or MotF and maybe a Radient Fountain or 2. Your not playing Leeches so the Fountains won't hurt you. Maybe a land base of this:
2 Radiant Fountain
1 Urbog, Tomb of whatever it's called...............

I haven't had any extensive testing with it, but that's the biggest issue I see with it. If you have to pick up even 3 lands, it sets you back at least 2 turns. I know (and seen) people have success with this deck, but it's way too fragile for my liking
