I've been trying the cycling lands out. I took out some basics for them. I'm starting to miss the basics though. Between reach, cultivate, elder, and solemn the deck wants to have enough basics to make it worth it.
I actually forgot that you made this thread and didn't expect to see it on the front page again. When looking at the list I thought someone had just copied your exact list. I'm a bad after all.
I'm not sure about Vampires being beaten by U/W control.
I have gone 2-0 against a U/W control deck.
Did so at last FNM.
I run a very aggro version of Vampires.
Well, that's all the proof I need.
On a serious note, that really isn't a large enough sample size to be able to claim that you have a good match up against a particular deck.
So we should arbitrarily weaken our decks because other people feel that the cards we play are too expensive? I don't think very many people will like this plan. People were ok with it when they were banning cards based on power level, but to restrict cards based on there rarity is a bit much. You would end up with almost an entire rarity that isn't used in any decks. I don't think I'll be putting in my one tech Cast Through Time.
I think the affordable price of Ajani V. is rather caused by the fact that he, compared to the other walkers, is just bad, than by the fact that he was available as a Prerelease-Promo.
What? Ajani V. makes superfriends work. He is so brutal. How can you say that his low price is due to being bad?
I miss the days when Magic was an affordable TCG to get into, before the end of Lorwyn block as a matter of fact. I could care less about the balance between regular rares and mythics, I see a problem when people who are playing competitively in Standard seem like they're spending their college funds entirely on Magic.
The mana bases for Lorwyn standard were a few hundred dollars alone. The mana base for UW control isn't nearly that much. The cost has shifted from several moderately expensive/expensive rares to a handful of expensive mythics. Either way, the game was expensive.
If a General would be put into a graveyard or exile from anywhere, its owner may choose to move it to the command zone instead. Details
* This is a replacement effect; the creature never goes to the graveyard and will not trigger such abilities.
* Generals will move to the library or hand as normal; only transitions to Exile or the Graveyard may be replaced.
The person who has been slaver'd is the owner. Even though his opponent is taking the turn, the owner of the card selects what zone it goes to.
EDH is essentially a legacy highlander format (all sets available with a banned list). Thus keep what is currently banned, and in addition, ban the entire legacy banned list. The cards are banned for a reason, and if a card is so very broken that it is necessary for the card to be on the legacy banned list, then the card should not be played.
Sol Ring, Strip Mine, YawgWin, Necropotence, Tolarian Academy, so many are the worst offenders already, and people know it! Look. Demonic Tutor is BETTER since your deck is highlander. Necropotence is BETTER since you start with 40 life! It's such a simple solution, I find it absurd that it hasn't already been enacted.
If they did that then many people would just go play legacy. I am playing this format specifically to play the spells that I have that I can't play in other formats.

Thornling doesn't have regeneration.
