NO I am not net decking. I just like to have some ideas before I randomly throw 100 cards together.
Sure you are, just be up front about it and move on.

Haha depends on your definition of net decking I suppose... there are just so many cards that go well with new commanders that I have never heard of... for example dual nature. I am looking at quick ways to find said cards.

So is building derevi somewhat like playing Bant goodstuff then? It seems like as I peruse these, its similar to what I would do if I was doing that....

    Quote from cryogen
There's like 100 of them in the multiplayer decklist subforum. I would start with this one, as it is one of the higher traffic ones. Also, scoeri had compiled the most commonly used cards of Derevi decks in the forums here.

Thanks! Those are very helpful Grin I will take a look at them!

I ran a bant enchantress list piloted by Angus before Derevi came out. Once he came out, he went right in and the whole thing just became one big combo machine. It's strikingly similar to the phenomenal list here:

Hmmm I like how this one looks. I have bant enchantress built but I want shy away from that just a bit if possible.

Hey there. Do any of you guys have a decklist for a competitive multiplayer Derevi deck? I'm talking no holds barred basically.

All the ones I see are somewhat cute and casual with explosive/nut draws. NO I am not net decking. I just like to have some ideas before I randomly throw 100 cards together.

Please let me know Smile Thanks!

So I have the chance to grab this lot up. Now, this lot is DEFINITELY a snap buy for any of us that enjoy wheeling cards. The thing I am asking, however, is when to cash out:

    2 Boros Reckoner
    1 Liliana of the Veil
    2 Dark Confidant
    1 Snapcaster Mage
    1 Cryptic Command
    2 Mox Opal
    1 Scalding Tarn
    1 Verdant Catacombs
    1 Arid Mesa
    3 Windswept Heath
    1 Horizon Canopy
    1 Karakas
    1 Scrubland SP

All for 475$. Again, great buy, but wondering when to cash out of them.

I rarely get opportunties to play Modern or Legacy tournaments and am incredibly unlikely to go to any SCG or GP events. Should I be selling my 4 Tarns, 4 Rainforests, 3 MM Tarmogoyfs, 4 Arid Mesa, and other Modern staples? I bought in at much lower prices and cashing out with all this hype seems reasonable. Any thoughts? I for sure think it's wise to unload the Modern fetches with reprints looming.

Should you be thinking about selling? Yes
    Sell them now? No

Wait until modern season starts in june or july. They will be even higher by then.

I plan on selling mine around that time as well because they have to reprint these to keep people interested in playing modern.

I agree with this post. I will likely be doing the same (selling all my extras around May-ish when people are prepping for modern PTQ season).

Courser of Kruphix has a demand in Modern, not so much at the moment in Standard, in Modern it's played as a 2/3-of in Jund and BG/x.

Wait what? You realize courser is a 4-of in standard RG monsters and various standard BG/Jund/BUG brews right? This cards is a house in standard.

Prophet is just insane-o in EDH. I would hold on to foil copies like winning lottery tickets. I've been snapping up non-foils whenever someone offers one to me at bulk rare value.

I've totally been snap trading for certain foils from the past few sets aka prophet of kruphix, progenitor mimic, etc. Definitely worthwhile at such low prices!

Are you guys expecting this card to be worth more than $20? Seems odd that you say foil copies should be treated like winning the lottery...

Have you played with the card? It is ABSURD in creature based strategies and what UG deck isnt somewhat creature based?

Will they go to 50$? No. But I could see them climbing from 7-9$ up to 20 or so.

I say can for certain that mimic can get out of hand really quick.... been on the wrong side of it when it copied sun titan. Oh boy...

I was saying more in regards to prophet (it being a rare). Mimic (being a mythic) is another story entirely. Not to mention that dragon's maze was a TERRIBLE set to be opening so likely less are in circulation.

Karmic Justice is also a good card to discourage people from attacking you.

How does this help people NOT attack you? It just makes them not want to remove your noncreature permanents.....

As for the OP, I run a UW pillowfort deck:

Depend on how much you like to **** with peoples mind Grin
Wydwen allows you to go "I don't have a counter right now, but I'm going to play this an fetch one".
Also, Wydwen is NOT a control deck. It's a pure tempo deck, walking the fine line of killing them while barely surviving.
But she's tons of fun to play imho Grin
(I'm playing Wydwen, Pike, Sword Fire/Ice + Feast/Fam, trinklet mage package, counter/draw/edit/bounce. Bounce is of utmost important to deal with some nasty permanents)

My only concern is to how viable a wydwen tempo deck is at playing a multiplayer game. Seems like it would be much harder to pull off.

Like some have mentioned, green gives a LOT to an EDH deck (recursion, lands, ramp, artifact/enchantment destruction, etc) but if you're utilizing those anyway (meta doesnt need it or you just can play without) then theres no reason to be in that color in my opinion.

If you're ever playing a deck and don't use a color at all...its prolly time to just cut the color in my opinion.

  • posted a message on Deadeye Navigator and best blink effect creatures!
    Quote from Pook and Pie
In UB I don't think there's any way to beat Deadeye Navigator, least of all with things like Peregrine Drake and Palinchron.

You can, of course, run Palinchron with Phantasmal Image and that would give you another outlet for infinite mana (and, um, if your commander is in play that'd kill everybody too if unanswered).

Anyway, Mulldrifter is one of my favorite blink targets in Magic; I started playing right around the end of Time Spiral and my second Standard deck was Reveillark combo (before that, it was Pickles). He's incredibly good and gives a lot of value if you evoke and then flicker/blink him (as you won't have to sacrifice him when he comes into play the second time as that trigger will have already passed). Anyway, Shriekmaw, in the same vein as Mulldrifter, can be extremely helpful. Mournwhelk can control hands, Rune-Scarred Demon can find you anything you need- use Rune-Scarred's first trigger to get Deadeye. Then use Deadeye to tutor up every single card you want to win. Duplicant does work, too, and should probably be in there if you're trying a blink/flicker theme.

Love doing this too! Blinking evoke creatures. Essentially with DEN in play, mulldrifter reads, 3UU, draw 4 cards and get a 2/2 flyer!

As for targets to bounce for the OP, things like Grave Titan and Frost Titan are good offendors as well.

    Quote from bakgat
It will die out when people realise that pooping out a token every turn while tron plays karns and eldrazis is not going to win you games. If it does do something degenerate it will not be in a fae build. Maybe something with swords or sac outlets and some blood artist builds. If it is going to get there it has to do something more novel and strong than just playing old fae decks.

Yea I think BB will do just fine. With things like tron, mistbind clique and vendilion clique do WORK. Turn 2 BB with Turn 3 countermagic into turn 4 clique locks will win games against tron.

But in the end, it'll still take time to prove but I think it can be done!

time spiral and land tax didn't get this nutty when they got unbanned - and they eventually calmed down. I expect BB to do the same if fairies doesn't put up results.

Modern speculators and buy outs are a little more volatile than legacy. Also, people kinda prepped for bitterblossom jumping and TCG already had a semi buy out. Then when it got unbanned it had a total buy out and BOOM goes the price. With the cards you mentioned, people didn't truly see it coming so they only had the one jump.
