It looks like Brian "Ace" Byrd has created a new facebook page and business. I'm not sure how much of the info he has ever given in regards to why he disappeared with a large amount of commissioned cards is true, but in the interest of spreading info about him here are some links to other forum discussions about the situation and a link to his new Fb page
Goofy question, guys. I have been doing alters for almost a year now and this is the first time that I've come across this question. I have a friend who recently acquired a magic card collection including some altered cards. A few are radically altered Legacy staples that would be questionable to run in tournaments (all non-text art is covered in completely different art).
He was wondering if it would be possible to un-alter it. I told him that I would investigate this, but that I doubted it would be possible (if the original art is even still underneath the paint is questionable because many alterists erase before painting).
I imagine that this is a nigh-impossible scenario, but has anyone tried to remove a heavy paint covering from a card before? With any luck?
Might have to just get aggressive with a toothpick if they didn't go over it with a seal coat Q_Q

I usually try to talk people out of getting power altered but sometimes dedicated vintage players/pimpologists just can't be talked out of it.
Those moxes are definitely painted on, I think the Recall Time Walk and Twister are buried under there also

I like Vallejo Game Colors more than Gw paints, they're a bit trickier to get ahold of but the colors are better.
