    You like adtr?

Anyways, good article, although it seemed a little early to me. I doubt any of the five blue cards you listed would be reprinted. Also I agree that whammer needs to go.

Random question here. Does anyone else on MTGS enjoy the Wild ARMs series of RPGs? If so, which ones are your favorites?

We just picked up Wild ARMs 5 a week or so ago and I have to say...it's a near-perfect entry into the series. I did like WA4 for what it was worth, but it left me feeling unfulfilled in a lot of ways. WA5 has rectified that ten times over.

Agree entirely, enjoyed 4, despite it's obvious problems, and agree that 5 feels like a big apology from the developers to the fans that didn't like 4, even though I thought 4 was alright anyways.

Besides all of that babbling, I like the third game the most. Second game is also of high quality.

    The movie was insane.

However, it will probably be really stupid if you've never watched the show.

In the top 8 of SCG Power 9 Chicago back in 2005, I'm playing in the quarterfinals. I'm playing UW Fish against an Oath deck I'd beaten in the swiss.

We Wasteland each other until I'm left with just a lone Flooded Strand to work with. I draw Black Lotus, and decide on my play. I have Meddling Mage and Standstill, if the Mage resolves I'll play the Standstill. If not, I'll burn for 2. It's weak, but I have to do something. I decide that I need a basic land from my Strand in case he has another Wasteland.

I activate Strand. I put Island into play. I activate Lotus for White. I panic. Something went wrong. I quickly ask the judge if I can make Blue. Before he replies, I say "no, I don't want blue!" I panic some more. What a dumb screw up, I'm sure the spectators are all thinking, "who is this idiot kid playing Fish?" So I play Meddling Mage. It resolves. I name Oath of Druids. I burn for 2 from the WW floating.

Meddling Mage attacks him enough times to win. Neither of us play a relevant spell for the rest of said game.

I usually avoid the News channel. Once I start reading things on it, I continue, and then realize that I've wasted half an hour reading news stories. So I guess it does its job.

The Virtual Console was what finally convinced me to buy the system. While it hasn't fully lived up to my expectations, I'm certain that it will continue to get getter and better as time goes on.

I play my signed Guru lands as much as possible. I have two plains and two islands, so whenever a deck plays 1-2 plains or islands, those go in. If there are 3+ of either I'll play something else, since they all must match.

    Other land choices:
    -Russian 9th, John Avon pictures
-Portal/Portal 2 (the ones with good pictures)
-Mirrodin Arena (all but the swamp)
    -Kamigawa Arena
    -Ravnica Arena

    Foils suck.

Speaking of the wii's virtual console, I've played at least 15 hours of Wario's Woods. For some reason it's like a drug..

Also, Twilight Princess. 42 hours, fairly close to the end.

Wii Sports annoys me a little, at least the tennis game. I never gain any significant points, and I can't figure out how to aim very well. But, it's still fairly enjoyable.

    May sound silly.

I'm playing Final Fantasy 3, SNES. People I know keep telling me it's actually "6," but it says "3" on the cartredge and the title screen. I'm playing the game with a console, a controller, and a tv screen, unlike lame people I know that emulate old games.

Clearly I should have played this game ten years ago, it's really good.

At the Vintage Championship at Gencon this year..

Flooded Strand, activate, Tundra. Black Lotus. Ninja of the Deep Hours. Go.

That Ninja drew me two Force of Wills. I won that game.

I'm playing something that beats Dragonstorm. I plan on boarding 8-10 cards for it.

I don't like losing to random idiots because they have triple Seething Song in thier opening hand.

    Ancestral Vision (inconsistant, poor topdeck)
Magus of the Scroll (encourages overcommitment to the board, leading to wrath related blowouts. it's either a 1 mana 1/1 with no ability, or the user has to bend over backwards to use it. non-bo with Dark Confidant, as well.)
Browbeat (it can't kill the opponent. it can't impact the board. far worse than every other playable burn spell in the format.)
Jaya Balard, Task Mage (3 mana 2/2. worse than most guildmages.)
Lightning Angel (at least in control, it doesn't fit at all. there maybe be a place for this in a tempo-based aggro control deck of some variety, but giant solifuge is way better.)
Unstable Mutation (card disadvantage. aggro card in a non-aggro color.)

  • posted a message on Yet another draft deck a.k.a. Gaze of Justice sucks
Once I had three Icatian Criers and 2 Gaze of Justice, and I never assembled the "combo" of both of those cards together.

It looks good, since it costs 1, and has flashback, but it is actually terrible. It was hard to evaluate, for me at least, as I am a very weak limited player.

I've drafted twice so far. Here's what I've seen..

    -First pick Looter il-Kor.
-Draft lots of Suspend cards (Errant Ephemera is stupid good.)
-Search for Tomorow and Greenseeker form the basis for multi-color green decks.
