Personality: To sit in the presence of Purphoros is to be inspired. He forges the most ornate and delicate items only to dash them into flame and start again. He is reasonable yet ultimately follows no rules save his own creative and destructive impulses. Sometimes, this can mean covering a whole area with lava to make way for something new. His main flaw is that of frustration, of feeling limited and constrained. He is forever pushing against the barriers of mortal imagination, sensing that there is much more to express. This can cause him to plummet into despondency and then lash out at the world with raw destruction.

May not be the mana ability, but it sounds a lot like Pyroclasm or Volcanic Fallout.

Perfect for my bloodrush/bloodthirst deck. A trigger for Scab-Clan Mauler, and he only costs R? Excellent.

It's missing the "and loses all abilities" part of its text.

If this is true it's much better. Cyclops becomes an 8/4 dragon with flying? Nice. Still not great though.

This isn't Electrolyze...how disappointing. Another janky "xD so random!" Izzet card. Pls don't be real.

Why isn't a lifespindowncounter (tm) or whatever they are called a fair dice?

Because numbers are grouped together. It is more random in groups of numbers than it is on a single number. For example, 20 is very close to 19,18,17. If the dice happens to land in that general area, you are going to get a high number.

I'm really surprised the forum is so heavily against this card. He's bad, no one is going to play it, and that's fine. I'm glad the card exists. He describes Izzet as a guild really well, and as a standalone card it communicates itself perfectly. Top-down at it's finest in my opinion.

Ahahahaha. Spot-on with Izzet's design: ultimate casual unplayable jank. I love fun cards just as much as the next player, but R/U constantly gets the shaft. I seriously hope Wizards reprints Electrolyze instead of printing more OP selesnya/golgari stuff.

Pretty garbage in limited, all abilities except for destroy creature are really narrow. 1cmc return? Unless you pull some good 1cmc in a draft or have an aura-focused deck, I don't see it being very useful. Would go nicely in my B/W mimic deck with edge of the divinity, but I'd put this in gruul-charm tier.

And of course all these people saying its FORMAT-ROCKING, while trash-talking every other card spoiled. Absolutely disgusting.

By that logic all humans should just shave their heads.

    You're missing my point completely.

Idk, i've seen some people pull off the beard look.

It's not necessarily about the look, it's the fact that some people attribute a huge degree of manlieness to beards based on stereotypes. It's the man that makes the beard, while they seem to think it's the beard that makes the man. Having a beard doesn't make you a man, it's quite a lazy thing to grow.

The whole "disintelligence" culture, in which people brag about being stupid. "lol im so bad at math XD never gona use algebra anyway!!!xD". And everyone cheers them on, it's like a race to the bottom of who can outdo the other in crappy math skills. Math is one of the most important skills you can learn, and good math skills are the easiest way to get a good job.

Also, memes. How many times can reddit superimpose some cliched impact-font text over a ripped image from 4chan before it gets old?

    Edit:

Oh, and beards. They're literally the least manly thing you do, the only thing holding it up is a reputation. All you do is exist and bam, it grows out of your face with no ounce of manlieness put into its formation. I guess it makes all the slender manchildren feel better about being a slender manchild. And when you're talking to them they like to think they're on a higher plane of reasoning than you because of their beard. It's absolutely disgusting.

I'm not too sure as to what an ability to interact with replicate would be, but they have been printing a lot more cards (a good amount creatures) that return instant/sorcery to your hand. Works good with the new cheap bounce spells too. Maybe RTR will give an ability that functions as both? Probably would be too op.

  • posted a message on Wikileaks US Embassy cables release
    Quote from Amadi
So, apparently Wikileaks has gotten their hands to some fairly juicy information that is being released today 23:30 GMT+2. US Embassy cables or so. United States government has contacted the following countries prematurely, regarding the information to be released: Denmark, Russia, Australia, UK, Iceland, Finland, Israel, Iraq, Turkey, Norway, Canada.

Exact information is not released, but there's a lot of speculation going on. Most common theory is that US embassies have been gathering information in illegal ways from the countries. If so, I expect a lot of class-action lawsuits coming up soon-ish from everyone involved. (Somewhere along lines of 365929000 people. Assuming a fair compensation of $1000 for everyone, we are looking at 365 billion dollars.)

Wikileaks was also under a DDoS-attack two hours ago.

So, in what ways the US government has decided to try to play world police this time? The files are seven times the size of the Iraqi war diaries, so it's a lot of stuff to go through. Whatever it is, they have done a good job at it so far.

No foreign government in their right mind would sue the US government at a time like this. We're heavily in debt now and the public wouldn't be very happy about it either. If anything, it would be some under-the-table deal.
