Your artifact hate comes in the form of wear away. Currently white is really lacking depth in the arcane spell department, so, red or black is the better way to go.
Dont forget about emberfist zuberas, tend to go at a 2 for 1 trade. Card advantage yummies.

As much as you'd think, no. Wear Away is sideboard; Viridina Shaman is T2 maindeck. Though I wouldn't suggest running this is T2, it's too fragile and too succeptable to affinity, black, and any control.

    1. None of those are viable block decks, let alone T2 decks. The splice deck goes like this:

    4 Hana Kami
    4 Soilshaper
    [4 Sakura tribe elder]
    [4 hearth Kami]
2-4 Kodama of the South Tree

    4 Glacial Ray
    4 Kodama's Might
    [4 lava spike]
[2 Soulless revival - black splash combo deck]

add Lands, Landsearch, utility, arcane spells to your liking.

Obviously the Genju's are at the edge; they're inferior to soilshapers unless your opponent has burn. So the green and red one MAY be sideboard material against red.

Frostling is almost an automatic 4 of for the deck.

    __________________
PS, Kami of the Hunt and Dripping-Tongue Zubera should NEVER be considered for a deck. Kami's too slow against red, white, and blue. Green's Zubera is boring and sad.

Note: This is *NOT* the G/BLACK block control deck, or the T2 rock. The T2 version of this adds BOP and artifact hate.

    what if is something like
"put a card with cmc equal or less than X from your hand into play"

some sort of mixed pipper's ability?

So... either you want me to be able to pitch a shoal and a green orochi patron to put a 7/7 into play first turn (IE, no), or pay XGG to put something into play at instant speed.

I'm going to say not likely and broken.

Betrayers NEEDS splice cards. I wouldn't do much in the way of alternate splice cards, but colorless splice costs would be nice.
    Example G
    Instant - Arcane
    Splice onto Arcane 3
Put a 1/1 colorless spirit token into play.

Heck, I'd almost call that broken.
Alternate splice costs might happen as well:
    Example 2 G
    Splice onto Arcane G
    Splice onto Arcane 4
Put a 1/1 colorless spirit token into play.

Blue's counterspell is bad, but will be played in block, and likely in T2 once the average cmc settles down.

Reds is the finisher that makes you block. Free Shrapnelblasts aren't fun, and when they come with unblocked creatures, you know you're in trouble. Extended might even like this for RDWs...

Black's removal is just one way red's won't get overpowered, but is a mighty fine card beyond that and will see play in both block and T2.

White's is likely life gain or +1,+1 counters to blockers for each damage out o the X is prevents. WHere as the latter is kind of cool; it just makes the black remover all the more needed.

But green... green houses the best artiact hate in T2, and the best mana creatures and fatties in betrayers. So; the question is; what is green's shoal?

    Not a chance:
    1/1 colorless spirit tokens. 7 1/1s turn 1? No.
    1/1 green snake tokens. No.
    Destroy X artifacts.
    Destroy X lands
    Destroy X enchantments
    Destroy X creatures
    Destroy X of anything.
target creature gets +X,+X. Inferior to red = no.

    A chance:
    - X lands become 1/1s. Almost useless outside of it's free casting cost, when used late game it's a small rude awakening.
    - Gain X life. Good in standard; it gives tooth and nail a way to gain back the life Red and affinity and WW have taken away. Nobody needs two tooth N nails anways.
    - destroy target artifact/enchantment with CMC = X. This sounds too red and not green. Green just doesn't do this.
    - Tutor creature = X. Very likely, Useful if there are more legends with the same cmc out there, and useful normally.

why do you want the eradicate for i thought the combo worked with splinter and myr landshaper or eradicate + land animation, not landshapper plus eradicate.

BUt if it does works once betrayers become legal it can be pulled as soon as turn 3: t1 forest->bop; t2 forest -> landshaper; t3 forest, tap soilshaper and splinter any land. And since it can be used in mono green i dont think affinity will be such a challenge.:sunny:

The idea is to have a backup.

    4 Landshaper
    4 SPlinter
    4 Spellbomb
    4 Erradicate

    4 BOP
    4 Kodama's Reach
    4 Sakura Tribe Elder

Then we have about 12 cards to be artifact/creature/land destruction. I'd suggest 2-4 Creeping Molds, to get rid of those lands still in play, 4 viridian shaman, black removal, and Sensei's divinging top.

Precedence is a perfectly suitable method of evaluation. If you've posted cards confirmed to be fakes beforehand, then I have the right to believe these are fake, along with the right to inform other people.

Yes, but you insinuated that I'd waste my time posting cards I thought were fake. For the record, I haven't thought any of these were fakes. I've thought they might not be real, but I say that about everything I haven't seen; from Frostling to the rest of the shoal cycle.

Saying "boy howdy, that twintwist has posted cards that turn out to be fake in the past, so these are fakes" is a somewhat jaded deduction, but saying "boy howdy, I guess he LIKES doing that" or "that he does it on purpose" are both insults, and I won't stand for them.

    Well, I'm useful after all.
Yah, I coulda sworn I'd seen the name before.
Really, what's the point in posting fakes? I just don't get it.

    1. Thanks alot. That really makes me feel good after posting cards that may be real. I thought we weren't supposed to call others name, but apperntly you can claim I post fake cards for fun w/o getting warnings.
    2. If I didn't make them up, I don't know they're fakes, do I? No. So if they are fake, blame the author, not me.
    3. I trust the guy with the artifacts. Not the guy with the wurm. But the wurm guy had "betrayers wording" before we ever saw the red thing posted by R_Elf.

After reading all these posts about Crystal of Forgotten Memory, I have one word.

    Flashback

HA! On wording 1, flashback is eternal. On wording 2, flashback goes on as normal.

But really, what's so broken about flashback every turn? I mean if Wonder gives all your creatures flying for free EVERY TURN, I think it's only fair I can sacrifice a mountain to do that EVERY TURN! HA!

    Quote from Ranma »
I think these cards are fake. This card should remove the card from the game to go along with the Shoals. Pluse its almost as good as chrome mox and mox diamond. NO

Silly card that I hope will never see the light of day. The abilities don't really make much sense together in the first place.

Wow another Kodama to go with the other two fake kodomas. Seems to be an easy target. If it is real then the wording seemed a bit dumb with the hole dealing one damage to its controller.

To be fair, Chrome mox isn't broken. It's just overplayed due to Affinity, which also occasionally runs it. But affinity CANNOT run THIS as effectively. Sure, I can pitch anything to this like I could a chrome mox to get it into play on turn 1, and it'd be slightly more useful than an unimprinted chrome mox, but COME ON! I could see Big Red using this over Chrome Mox, or maybe in addition to it.

Well, I assume the second clause is to prevent nasty recursion. WAIT! Flashback is playing a spell, so if you use a flashback cost, it returns... and you just can't play other spells. Playing only one flashback card a turn would suck.

And yes, I hate this so much. I mean, we need a spider, but not this.

I say these might all be true. The wording might be a bit off with the 2nd artifact, but I see wizards printing this. They have been bending every possible rule since Scourge (with Upwelling) so why not bring cards that were removed from the game back. I thought they mentioned this before.

EDIT: and since that artifact makes it impossible to play spells that turn, I don't think it's broken actually.
Looking at the cards again... the artifact has number 164/165. This means we might have only 1 land!

Depends. On wording 1, it hoses Madness and imprint; which is bad. It makes astral slide a kill condition (hey, you've wanted Astral Slide in Extended, right?), and makes flicker an uber-terror (though otherwise pretty useless). Worse still, it makes a 2 card lock with the graverobber. On wording 2, it doesn't hurt most imprint, but it does still do the astral slide kill.

Now that I think about it, I really think the artifacts may be fake just because of the 1cc one. I mean, in extended there's paralax wave (I'm sorry, 5 terrors on either reading isn't ballanced), and in block, there's the combo with Hana Kami/6cc spiritcraft demon/arcane raise dead that would make them unable to play spells (of course that combo also makes them have to spells to play, so...). And in block it's useful with removal and the 2/2 planar void bushido guy; glacial ray a bear on their turn, they can't play spells.

I could see this going into affinity sideboards to work against the white deck, who will oddly side it out in T2; because it's not their lock anymore. It hurts them more than it helps.

I really hope we get a west and an east tree. The north and south were really good both flavorwise and playability wise.

To be fair, if the west tree's like this, I'd just as soon not get one. I mean, I like craw wurms as much as the next guy; but I expect more for 7 mana... legenary 7 mana. I have better things to Tooth and Nail out, thank you very much.

the two artifacts seem broken...in a way.

soulsphere has combo written all over it...it's like a chrome mox that costs cards

the crystal completely hoses yawgmoth's will, makes parallax wave 5 targeted removal spells that can't be countered, makes you able to recur cunning wish (and other wishes), hoses madness, etc. Just seems too nutty to only cost 1.

edit: and it breaks imprint. i say fake.

Ha! It does, doesn't it! Sweet. Then again, name an imprint card outside of Chrome Mox that gets played. Duplicant? Fine. Name 2.

How's it hose madness? Maybe I suck on rules, sorry.

but yeah, it does turn all sorts of astral slide abilities into removal cards, doesn't it. Nasty.

Soulsphere is actually kind of interesting, if its real. It actually seems like it could be real with the dependence upon what your library gives you. Crystal of Forgotten Memory just doesn't seem real. Its very powerful when combined with Nezumi Graverobber and I'm not sure what to think of Kodoma of the West Tree. All of these cards could potentially real but I just don't know.

Come to think of it, I really don't need more Orim's Chant on a stick, let alone from a frickin rat; but the rat's nasty anyways. Makes me wonder if the he gave me was a little off (he seemed stingy about what he'd typed, and his enGRISH is terrible). Maybe it's removed from the game from play...

The first two are from a guy in hongkong, who works in a "black market" of sorts. He's my contact (formerly of ebay; but his computer scanner was stolen 3 months ago and we conduct business by email nowadays) to get transformer prototypes and test shots early, and generally can get most anything from hasbro. I asked him if he had any magic cards, and he said he had a few left; though at his prices, they really aren't worth it.

    Soulsphere 2
    Artifact (rare?)
You may discard a card rather than pay Soulsphere's converted mana cost.
Tap, remove the top card of your library from the game: You may add 1 mana of any of that card's colors to your mana pool.
    Artist: Tim Hiddebrandt
    164/165

    Crystal of Forgotten Memory 1
    Artifact (Rare)
Whenever a card would be removed from the game, instead put it into it's owner's graveyard. That card's owner cannot play spells for the rest of the turn.
    Artist: Steve Tappin
    161/165

[Edit: CofM may be "would be removed from the game FROM PLAY"... never liked translating engrish, sorry. Note: If this is the case, then it's a lot less broken then I thought, kind of bland instead.]

This is from a much less reliable source, I suppose, it's someone who "saw the card" and was taking about it with his friends at FNM. Where as I'd trust him as far as I could throw him, he was arguing about the rules text with his high-ranked friends. At first I thought it was completely fake, but after seeing R_E's Red Aura card (enchantments deal 2 damage + etc), I thought I'd run it by the experts.

Kodama of the West Tree 5GG
    Legendary Creature - Spirit
Kodama of the West Tree may block as though it had flying.
XXG, Tap: Creatureds with Flying deal 1 damage to their controler, then deal X damage to themselves.
{this is what I recall of it from last friday, sorry)
    7/6

    My thoughts:
Wow, can we go a block without having a Mox varient? This one seems odd, as it's kind of like a shoal, but not as it makes you discard the card. But I guess that's the idea, right? Pitch a colored cost, then remove it turn 1. the bad news? Well, you remove the TOP card of your library, which means if it's an artifact (like 9/10th of affinity), it's useless. Same with land (how often is that in the graveyard though?). It's got an anti-thesis with Soulshift and other graveyard loving cards.

As for Crystal of Forgotten Memory, I don't know what to make of this card. On the surface, it's an anti-shoal device, stopping them from playing spells after the alternate cost, and it stops players from removing cards from the game entirely; which is all well and good for 1 mana I suppose; but there HAVE to be BROKEN STUFF you can do with this in T1, right? Also, it has an odd reaction with Soulsphere; returning the removed card to the graveyard. If you have an artifact ontop of your graveyard, you'll never be able to get rid of it. Also, I think this stops Planar Void-tricks against affinity... I think.

The last one? Well, a Spined Wurm with Web isn't too exciting, and the Huricane on a stick seems weird; but when CHK staff create odd wording, you just know they barrel through with it as far as possible (Myojins for starters).

I expect I wouldn't be too happy to draft any of these, save maybe the last one; though I'm sure I'll need a playset of the first two for some weird combos or something.

BLACK Legends in T2: Black Dragon, Horobi (sheesh... like anything doesn't kill this guy already), black flip rats (1+2), black Ki flipper (unknown right now, but he MAY be good...).

Given that the Rats will run rampant in a rat theme deck in T2 and will play a big part in many black/X control or monoblack decks in CHK, they're very hard to kill (Rend Flesh does it, but a turn later).

This card's good, not overly powerful, and should have 3 in the sideboard and 1 maindeck in any monoblack CHK deck, and probably in most B/X control decks in CHK block.
