I'm super stoked for this, because of Eye of the Storm. Anything that grants haste, untaps creatures, steals creatures and make extra mana seems great with that.
True, but you still can run it as a commander instead of a companion, and get around the deck building restriction. But yeah, look for the colon in the ability.

I guess legendary would be too much of a restriction, since they already enter the battlefield tapped, unless you control a land with the appropriate subtype. The flavour problem is they point to specific locations, instead of a generic one like "island" but at least you can run 4 and not have an extra risk in mana issues.

Where does that ruling come from? Commanders aren't part of your starting deck, right?
