Here's the perspective from a female (for whatever that's worth):

People do make some mistakes/bad choices in their life, and perhaps that's what this girl has done.

You haven't told us much more than the basics--she's been with X amount of guys in Y amount of time. Was she dating each guy, or just hooking up with them? If she's hooking up with them, she might not want a relationship. If she dated them...well, sometimes people don't learn after the first mistake. Or the 5th.

To me, she doesn't sound like a good match for you, as far as dating goes. She could be a good friend, but not much more than that. The way I see it, the amount of people she's been with in such a short period of time..she doesn't seem like she's looking for a relationship right now.

Good luck, whatever decision you make.

Currently, I work at a mini-golf/pedal-kart/batting cages place near my house. It's okay, I guess. I get paid minimum-wage (which is fine with me), work two nights a week. We're fairly busy because it's summer, so there's not a whole lot of downtime.

The only part I really, REALLY cannot stand is the part where the owners watch their security cameras all the time and call the place if we make a mistake. They don't even give us the opportunity to catch and correct the mistake ourselves, they call right away. I realize they have cameras to help protect us (and their investment) in case of a robbery, but I swear to christ they watch us like we're some kind of TV show..

Starting next week, I'll be working a second job at the Blood Center of Wisconsin. I'll be working in publishing, printing up the fliers for blood drives and whatnot. I've wanted this job ever since I interviewed, so I'm pretty stoked about it. Grin

During the school year, I work as Editor in Chief of the school newspaper. It's essentially a full-time job. It's demanding and frustrating at times, but I love it and wouldn't change it for anything. It doesn't pay nearly enough, though, so I'm going to have to find another job on top of that.

    wellll,

it's around $4. give or take 20cents. I'm still driving my same car since the last time i posted. Heh, back in the 3.25 range wasn't it? lolz.

I'm getting 24mpg (kinda 1/2 city and 1/2 highway mileage when i drive to work each day) from a '95 chevy z26 beretta. (V6 engine)

now imagine if i was driving a 4banger. (4 cylinder for you non-rednecks) that would probably hit close to 30mpg.

My boyfriend always looks at me funny when I say "4-banger". Grin

Seriously, the next car I get is gonna be a 4banger. I want a smaller car, both in physical size and in engine size.

Though for something on the older side, that's pretty good. My '97 chevy lumina gets about 22mpg (combining freeway and city driving).

Correct DD. The Dice Chuckers and Cards Flapper's war was chronicled by Inquest back in the day.

    Welcome Roja.

On an unrelated note I'm, voting republican.

    http://www.imvotingrepublican.com/

for some reason, "Card Flappers" makes me rofl. Perhaps I don't sleep enough...

O hai Roja! Welcome, pull up a bean bag.

On a somewhat related note, I'm not voting. Really, I don't give a **** about politics, and it's all a bunch of high-school drama, as far as I'm concerned.

I suppose that makes me an example of "What's wrong with kids these days", but...my take on it is that it doesn't matter who we put in office. They'll screw up once and we'll go from loving them (or at least tolerating them) to hating them overnight.

In unrelated news, I'm kind of pissed at Parkside's housing. They won't let me break my contract with them for fall. I want to live off-campus, but I can only withdraw from campus housing if I'm not enrolled at Parkside.

I know for a FACT that they have a waiting list for housing. So why not let me withdraw (keep my deposit for all I care), and let someone on the waiting list have it?!

    Argh.

Wow, never knew so many WI people were here.

Thankfully, the water seems to be going away, albeit slowly. The shop I play at has been carrying a rather odd funk due to wthe water that got in. They had some forewarning and got the potentially damaged goods to higher shelves.

@Leilani: Did you by chance see the intersection of 116th and Janesville during the first major rain?

I know, right? Wisconsin must be a magnet for people who are interested in Magic...

Actually, no I hadn't. I was in Kenosha visiting my boyfriend that weekend, and only found out about the freeway exit being closed when I tried to get off the freeway on that exit. Rolleyes The rest of the flooding I heard about through Facebook and whatnot.

Why, was it completely under water as well?

    $4.30 a gallon?

    Oh dear god.

Currently, the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin is hovering between $3.90 and $4.10 a gallon. It really just depends where you stop, it seems.

I think if it hits 5 bucks a gallon, I'm going to stop driving. With no job and a not-exactly-fuel-efficient car, anything more than 5 bucks isn't worth it.

I live just outside of Milwaukee (Franklin, if anyone really cares. I doubt it.), and earlier last week several major portions of our roads were underwater. The local river swelled up like crazy, and forced law enforcement/the local government to close down an exit on the freeway leading into the city, because the exit was under water.

After a day or two, the water on the roads disappeared and now it's like nothing ever happened. I would imagine there's a fair amount of flooded/damaged basements, but where I live is fine. My house is on a giant hill, so the chances of us having a flooded basement are slim.

Down in Kenosha, where I go to school, there wasn't much that I could see. A good chunk of the farmland by school is still underwater, a week later. I don't think much of the crops planted this year are salvageable by this point.

While I quite like storms (yay, lightning and rain!), I think Wisconsin has had enough for a while. If the lakes are overflowing into rivers and then flowing into streets, causing fish to swim down a street, it's quite enough rain, thank you.

Though the guy reporting live from some southeastern wisconsin city was completely speechless when he saw a fish swim past him in the street. That was actually pretty funny. Grin

Howler: I can honestly say I've never heard of any of those movies (except for Elf, but I've never seen it). Nice HGotW, though. We haven't had one in a while, and it's nice to see it get mixed up a bit.

I haven't posted in pages...hah. Not too much of interest on this end...the storms over the weekend put 3 major parts of my city underwater. I'm still job hunting (sigh), and..yeah.

    end random post!

When you're banned, you're gone. Kaput. Outta here. Forever. Even if we don't remember exactly why or what led up to the banning, that means something--that means you couldn't be reasonable enough to follow the rules. Even if you or others come back saying 'they've learned their lesson', by the time it gets to the point of banning, they should've learned their lesson. It's not like we ban people left and right around here willy-nilly. That's what suspensions/infractions/warnings are for.

I completely agree. From my understanding of how the system works, you have to actively TRY to get yourself banned. If that's the case, they were probably done with their stay here anyway, and want to act out and get banned so everyone knows they're leaving. Basically, attention-seeking.

    Quote from Zith
The very idea of banning a person is to ensure that they don't come back to us. Why should we let people come back under a ban through the use of an alternate account? You speak of banning, and of "permabanning," but fail to see that there is only one flavor. This isn't a suspension, another punishment we utilize, this is full-on expulsion. If you'd like us to reconsider a ban with proper evidence, you may call for it, but until the ban is lifted, you cannot come back. It's the entire purpose of a ban. The idea of soft banishment and hard banishment undermines the idea of banishment in general.

    Also agree with this post.

Banning is permanent, regardless of what label you give it. You're not making sure these banned people have learned a lesson by banning them for a few months/a year and then letting them back. They need to stay banned.

But obviously, I don't make the rules. I just live here. Wink

I honestly have no idea what you are trying to tell me.

We are not hacked, we don't send spam and we certainly don't try to access your computer or install anything on it.

I agree with Hannes on this one.

Obviously, I'm not an admin or mod or anything of the sort, but I like to try and help people.

And I've been trying to help you, drakescree, but I'm not sure what you want. The possibility exists that your problem has absolutely nothing to do with MTGS. Just because it blocks your login doesn't mean Salvation is the problem.

I'm sorry, but...none of us can help you until we know what you want.

I don't see a problem with the way things are run here. I think the rules are fair, and if you can't be bothered to take the time to read them you probably shouldn't be here in the first place.

I think it could be even stricter, as far as spelling and grammar goes. But I don't make the rules.

Thank you everyone for the responses.

I can get on www.vbulletin.com/forum/? with no problem while the firewall is active.

When I get blocked from sites it is beacuse they are tryign to access my computer in some way. With the local train website for example, I cannot log in beacuse the Transit Authority is trying to access my computer and PeerGuardian blocks it. I do not know how to check to see if PSI is on my computer through another program, but I do not beleive this to be the case.
I will try Zone Alarm, but then I will still get accessed my PSI. I am surprised that no one uses PeerGuardian, it is an amazing program.... I beleive that if someone tried this program out that they would have the same problems accessing these forums.

If it's so amazing that it's blocking your access to certain websites, I don't think it's doing its job at all.

The best solution I can think of is to just switch to a different firewall. I really don't know what else to tell you.

I don't recommend doing that. Obviously they're trying to steal your information, and if you disable your firewall, it'll just be that much easier for them.

    Try Zone Alarm instead.

That's what I use, and I've never had a problem accessing anything.

I definitely recommend you scan your computer for viruses, spyware, adware, anything evil, on a regular basis.
