I tried the loam and ghost quarter, and I found it more damaging than helpful, but it is probably because of the lack of cloudpost decks in my area. Sorry for misunderstanding your deck, I always have the T2 picture of jund where you where trying to cast Putrid leech, thrinax and BBE in consecutive turns. I am still trying to make that mindset change from T2 Jund to Modern Jund.
After a bunch of playtesting I got to this list and I am contemplating with traveling for a modern open in another city near by.
I wanted to play the most amount of 2cc Creatures that would be aggressive to be able to have a decent clock against most decks. Kavus where originally dark confidants, but I never liked them in multiples and they killed me many times. The Baloth In the side board is just holding a spot basically but it helps against Zoo and BGx decks.
I am considering dropping either BBE or Kitchen Finks for Eternal Witness
Thoughts?
I would take out the loams before I take out a BBE or finks, as a matter of fact I would take out the loams and up the count of BBE to 4 and play one more land.
I would also be intersted to know how are the ghost quarters working for you. Jund is a very color intensive deck and having 3 sources of colorless seem like they would give you problems.
My meta is full of affinity and other aggro decks. Combo is the second most represented with 12 post being almost non existent. I want to change the hemorrhages to Rise//fall when I get them. I already play 3 thoughtseize, 2 inquisition and 4 Blightnings main deck to fight combo and control.
SOme nice tech I was able to get a glimpse of from his SB was Sudden Death. I found splinter twin decks very hard but that, and a combination of enchant hates, made it winnable post board.
I know it is not as insane as most of these stories but I had Koths emblem a geopede equiped with sword of feast and famine and 5 mountains out. My oponent was plating UBr tezzeret and he decided to use his 2 tumble magnets to tap my geopede and another rando blocker I had and attacked with his 5/5 chalice and wurmcoil. He then taped out for Jace and I thought it was over because he would just bounce the geopede and I would not have enough mana to equip my other dude and deal 10 damage with my mountains. Again he misplayed and decided to brainstorm. I untaped taped my mountians for 5 damage atack with everything untaped my mountains and killed him for exact lethal. He then got mad because of all the misplays he made all i had to say was "Reading is tech" and he just went away.
I think mirran crusader + equipment give boros a plan B that dose not involve overextending. Whenever I play him I feel I have an edge and people are always trying to get rid of him ASAP
@Marximus: I tested against UW with Sun titan finks combo and that is the big problem. I dont know how bad stoneforge + swords might be and I doubt anynone will play that here. Like in everything else third world countries are slow to adapt to new tech and even then there are probably only 2-3 players who can build UW and play it well so that is why I am not very concerned.
@AlmostMercury: I have slave of bolas because there is many Cruel control deck here and they all play wurmcoils as finishers and nobody else plays slave so it is always a blow out for them if I have it. I never thought of sadistic sacrament but I cant help find that triple black is going to be hard to cast. It is a good sugestion and I will test it in the next days.
About how the deck works it is basically a swarm aggro strategy that dose not die to sweepers. I wanted Blossoms and leeches against control decks so that is how they got in. Nest invaders are good in combination with elfs and ruinbalasters which I find to be very good with so many non basic lands running around. There is not many ways to get rid of thrinax and I like the fact that I can overextend with him blossms and finks and not loose much if they wrath. Finks used to be blightning but with leeches and blossoms I was hurting myself too much, so I dcided to play baloths to help in mirror matches but the 4 slot was too cowded so blightning became Finks. Skinrender is basically against oposing finks that are very anoting to play against and they also fit in the 2 for 1 theme of jund decks. Torrent of souls is there to have a good surprise kill and it always retuns something good, with so many 1/1 the deck can produce it helps push the deck when it needs to alfa strike.
Well the only paper PTQ I will be playing is this saturday and after playing this deck since after worlds I am very confident with it and how it is going to play out. I will shar my list and see if I can egt any feedback becuase evrytime I posted here it was just a waste of time.
Most of my choices are based on having a very aggressive deck that can play a race against other aggro and have various threats to combat control deck. After 2 months of playtesting this is what I came up with and the only two matchups I found that are bad are Tempered steel and UW. Valakut is a bad match before side and you have to try to race them. Fae is by far my easiest match and have only lost once against them in sanctioned play due to double mulligan in 2 games. I hope to get some feed back and I don't mind tech getting spoiled as I doubt anybody from my country who will play the PTQ will read this thread
Bolt not close. The card is never dead and I have never complained of having more than one copy in my hand. I think people fall in the trap of over valuating two fore ones when in reality the better card is Bolt, the most effective burn spell ever created and the bench mark WoTC uses when creating other similar spells.
Jund is such a versatile deck and has such a rich pool of cards that I don't understan why people are just giving up on it, you just have to find the perfet build for a specific tournament and do that over and over. That is how I played Jund when it was T2 legal and it got me an invitation to worlds. We just have to keep in mind what the metgame is and what we can play to beat it, even if other people say that it dose not work. As long as savage lands, lightning bolt, putrid leech and bloodbraid elf are in the deck I think everything else is good to try.
Thrinax is just too good at blocking vengevines, naya being a very popular deck online, and is defenietly not bad at blocking mono red creatures. I also play the thrinax because it's built in synergy with torrent. I would prefer to play Baloths over finks if I was to worried about Mono red because it is good in the mirror, blightning still ons the mirror match and baloth owns blightning
I played my torrent Jund list in a daily last night to a 3-1 finish (I split with the UW player that made 4th place). I really like the list and have been tweaking for the past month and having progressive results over the past weeks. My MVPs are marsh flitter and Bituminous blast. Something that I found interesting is that the two best jund lists in this event did not play demigods or fauna shamans.

I think the big problem wit the deck is the mana base. I'm hoping that that we get more dual lands to play 2 colors because I still think this deck has a chance.

Because they are not legal in SOM block
