I've gotten a few pop-ups blocked recently that come from here, obviously I see no details because I don't open them, but they link to ar.voicefive.com with an incredibly long URL.

In competitive Magic, it's not as good as other options, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

As far as your question, I usually do that until I think of a new deck idea. I've got boxes of cards all over the place, so whenever a new deck idea pops up I have to go through all of them before heading to a store to make sure I'm not buying too many cards I already have.

If the spells made their way to the stack, they have been cast, and the werewolves will trigger.

I've played with it, it's pretty fun, but not something I'd regularly buy over packs unless I need a few extra lands and mini deck boxes.

  • posted a message on [INN] So, how did your prerelease go?
I built a fun BW aggro deck with Mikaeus, the Lunarch to back up nice fast creatures. I enjoyed the set as a whole, and especially enjoyed that while my deck was fast, the overall format seemed a bit slower and more enjoyable. I went 5-1, and won 10 packs out of it (4th place).

Love the concept of this, saddened by a 'level cap' at the end of it. But hey, I'll take what I can get. Hopefully more will come with this beyond a new way to show off that you both play a lot of magic and are good at it.

    Quote from Aluren
IMO, color indicator is just plain dumb. If they "made" a rule and added more things to a card, why not just make the border of the card "oficially" represent the color of the card?

Gimme a break... THE COLOR OF THE CARD... IS THE COLOR OF THE CARD!

I know this presents problems with multicolored cards... but so does the dot... do they really intend to fit tiny little dual colors in there?

Seems to work for mana costs, and looks about the same size.

I'm not disagreeing with changing the rule to how you put it, but still, it's not a huge leap.

This is terrible for casual. Competitive players won't care, it's a proxy anyway in their deck, but casual players won't always have enough proxy cards.

And yes, it's a fixed flip. I like the idea, but I'm not happy that it requires you to carry more cards. This is a failed mechanic in my book.

I've had 103/103 Elf Warrior tokens before. About 40 of them. It was fun. The other method I've used is the combo with Khalni Gem, Filigree Sages, and Training Grounds with an Obelisk of Alara.

  • posted a message on How many times have you quit/restarted Magic?
I started with Odyssey block, and the closest thing to a break/quitting that I've had was during Mirrodin/Kamigawa, since I only played a couple people and at the time I didn't hang out with them as much.

  • posted a message on Possible werewolf mechanics
Obviously they'll have something along the lines of, "If you are playing ~ during a full moon, ~ gets +3/+2 and has protection from everything but Karn, Silver Golem."

Joking aside, I'd expect flip cards, because any other mechanic I can think of involves an additional card to make use of them. I'd also expect an enchantment as the werewolf 'lord' that references a full moon. Spreading a werewolf infection could work, but it seems awkward.

  • posted a message on New Phyrexian Language
    Quote from XenophanesFX
Ok, so I know I run the risk of necro-ing this post here, but seriously what in the heck came of the Phyrexian language?!?!

It sure seemed like WotC went through a lot of trouble to create the language, create a version(s) of the cards using the phyrexian language and...... nothing?

Do we think that the fact that the god book was spoiled removed the utility of the constructed language as a spoiler device? Did they ever consider using the language beyond a single spoiler card and on some promo videos?

I honestly believed that they were going to put in Phyrexian language cards randomly into boosters (maybe in place of the land?) similar to the Timeshifted or hidden treasures thing. I felt it would have been a really sweet way to communicate the take over of the Phyrexians, however this never came about.

I waited for all of the New Phyrexia stuff to simmer down, but now I am sitting here scratching my head wondering what happened.

Anyway, I am not going to be satisfied until I have all 5 praetors in Phyrexian in my collection. Slant

I'm pretty much in the same boat here. When I get the chance I'll write a phrase or two on a chalkboard as I pass by an empty room, but beyond explaining that one of the words means perfect it's getting kinda boring. I sent an e-mail to Wizards asking for something, but no response (duh).

I doubt we're gonna get anything out of them at this point, but maybe when they bring Phyrexia back they'll tell us more. But really, I expect that the godbook leak killed any plans they had for the language.

would it be possible to tap 4 mountains geosurge geosurge then cast something for 12, or would my mana from my first geosurge go away after i cast my second?

"Add to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast artifact or creature spells."

No, you can't cast it that way.

But to answer your question about mana going away, no, it doesn't disappear during a step. At the end of each step or phase, all mana pools are emptied.

    Quote from Lord of Atlantis
That's like saying destroy and sacrifice break uniformity. or cast and play break uniformity. In the long run, people will get used to it--players already use it colloquially.

Sacrifice and Destroy are mechanically two different things, so that example doesn't work. The other one does, however, and like that dies will be accepted.

I'm still against it, but I think that's mostly because I've been playing the game for so long. Same reason I can't say cast without forcing myself to, or the battlefield.

    "Dies."

    Wow.

    Really, Wizards?

That was pretty much my thought, but since I still say comes into play and all those other changes, I doubt it'll change how I talk about the game.

Hexproof is nice, much easier than explaining trollshroud or opponent-shroud.
