Oct 23, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on Notes for a Pauper MBC PrimerJust wanted to say you got really ripped off on those Chittering Rats. Online or off, a single one is no more than 7 cents, so you shouldn't have spent more than 30 cents for an playset.Posted in: Zelderex Blog

Sep 28, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on Magic as Art.Art comes in many forms and I believe the design of Magic cards qualifies. Not only is there the raw art portion of a card, but there is also a more mechanical design, as well creation of flavor which is a writing aspect - and writing can be considered art. From this, I don't see why it wouldn't be considered art, even if only vaguely.Posted in: Zelderex Blog
Also, on the last part, Draftmagic.com is looking for writers:

Sep 28, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on Why I hate GideonLet's also noy forget the fact that, when Gideon is a creature, it's pretty hopeless to do anything but chump him, since even on power creatures can't trade since he has a prevention shield -_-UPosted in: Zelderex Blog

Sep 28, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on Why I hate GideonTo be honest, this is the kind of card I hate so much that even if someone gave me a playset to use for free, I wouldn't use it. I'm not going to contribute to Gideon being played more and would rather contribute to a decline against him.Posted in: Zelderex Blog

Sep 27, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on Why I hate GideonAgreed on all counts. Gideon Jura is my nemesis of ALL the planeswalkers. He's just completely unfair and unflavorful. Not to mention he's completely unfun to play against. I'm still hoping he'll eventually get the banhammer or my wet dream would be seeing him replaced in the next coreset with my favorite Planeswaler, Ajani (Though that is indeed only a dream, as most prefer Elspeth even over Ajani).Posted in: Zelderex Blog

Sep 24, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on The Vault SkirgeI don't see Skirge reaching near the same potential price as Hawks. Squadron Hawk was so good because one Hawk fetched up three of it's buddies so that, even if one or two hawks bit the dust, there were still more to take up a sword. Skirge's only assets are lifelink and not dying to Doom Blade or Go for the Throat.Posted in: DOLZero Blog

Sep 20, 2011NacatlFleetfoot posted a message on Mill - Block ConstructedCould probably go down to 22-23 lands. Also, I'd replace Grasp of Phantasm with some number of Jace's Archivist. Also, the bound idea is fine, but I think you're really better of countering stuff instead of bouncing it.Posted in: FuneralofGod Blog

I see your point on Might of Alara and Spring Cleaning.I could sack the Might of Alara and Spring Cleaning for one each of the charms. Any opinion on where to sub in the Vexing Shushers? Maybe in Progenitus' place, since it takes so much collectively to play?
As for card draw, any opinion on which might be best?
Clarion Ultimatum could pretty useful. I must not of looked hard enough when making this. Thanks for your suggestions.
4 Lone Wolf
4 Tel-Jilad Wolf
4 Wolf-Skull Shaman
2 Tolsimir Wolfblood
2 Wren's Run Packmaster
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Scattershot Archer
4 Fable of Wolf and Owl
4 Sound The Call
2 Glorious Anthem
2 Overrun
4 Spring Cleaning
3 Ancient Ziggurat
3 Plains
3 Terramorphic Expanse
14 Forests
Uses Wolf-Skull Shaman mainly to generate wolf tokens, along with Fable of Wolf and Owl, and Sound The Call. Use Llanowar Elf to fund a large many pool to easily play Wren's Run Packmaster's multiply times. Bulk up wolf tokens with Tolsimir Wolfblood, Overrun, and Glorious Anthem or decimate opponent's creature base with wolf tokens with deathtouch from Wren's Run Packmaster.
Terramorphic Expanses to be used mainly to find Plains for Glorious Anthem.
Basic idea is to overwhelm with strong wolf tokens/wolves bulked up by Tolsimir and Packmaster. Weak point is any kind of mass removal/destruction or mass burn (Damnation, Wrath of God, Volcanic Fallout). Please no suggesting Birds of Paradise. Sideboard is still up in the air.
As for suggestions, I'd prefer to keep away mostly from Tenth, since it goes out in, if I recall right, sometime mid-July?
4x Nacatl Outlander
4x Valeron Outlander
4x Vedalken Outlander
4x Zombie Outlander
4x Goblin Outlander
2x Progenitus
3x Unsummon
3x Negate
3x Story Circle
3x Might of Alara
2x Spring Cleaning
2x Crumbling Necropolis
2x Jungle Shrine
2x Arcane Sanctum
2x Seaside Citadel
2x Savage Lands
2x Swamp
2x Island
2x Forest
2x Mountain
2x Plains
4x Ancient Ziggurat
Meant to have protection for every color. I'm leaning towards having Nacatl Savage in the sideboard, since it is Pro-Artifacts. I know people do have trouble with it, as I recently played someone using Obelisk of Alara with my Naya Cat Deck, which used the Savages and made the targeting effects of the Obelisk useless. It's otherwise up in the air though.
Thought Unsummon and Negate would be really useful for countering a few spells. Story Circle for a little bit of stalling in case my opponent gets a creature jump on me before I can play the right Pro creature to attack through their creatures. Might of Alara for it's Domain effect, which I think could be useful for dealing damage quicker with the right lands. Spring Cleaning is there to get rid of annoying Enchantments, which all of my reatures but Progenitus and Goblin Outlander have to worry about (I think).
I was considering some of the multicolor spells that give bonuses for certain colors a permanent has, like Clout of the Dominus and Edge of the Divinity.
Two of each of the lands that tap for 3 different kinds of mana (since each mana symbol shows up 3 times each in the 5, I figure it won't be AS hard getting the right mana). Ancient Ziggurat, since there are more creatures that need different color mana than there are spells. 2 of each of the basic lands, though I was considering replacing 1 x Swamp and 1 x Mountain for 2 x Terramorphic Expanse. Or would it be better to replace all of the Ziggurats with Terramorphic Expanse?
(Not quite used to standard posting here, so let me know if I screwed anything up)
My primary language is English, though I speak conversational Japanese and bits and pieces of both French and German. My favorite colors to play are red and green. My favorite kinds of cards are Slivers, though I also like making animal-themed decks (I have a cat deck and I'm planning on making a wolf-themed token deck and rat-themed discard deck).
I'm not the best player and have to refresh my memory every once in a while. I started playing a few months before Tenth Edition was released, though took a LONG break after Tenth, due to no mode of transportation to reach my local card shop. I've only started playing again about three weeks ago.
Please forgive some of my spelling errors. I have a keyboard that is very messed up and key remapped all over the place. I'e love to hear about any other players who play cards at Nexus in Oregon.
