+1: create a 2/2 spirit. Exile top card of your library face down, you may look at it. When the spirit leaves the battlefield, put the exile card into your hand.
I can't imagine this ability is real. When you have multiple spirits it would be too easy to cheat and put whatever card you want into your hand
The main thing to me is what an absolutely massive blowout it is if he gets removed with the mentor trigger on the stack after you pump. The mentor ability checks again on resolution, so you won't even get a counter.
Your timing is a little wrong. You need to pump before the mentor trigger because you won't have any legal targets otherwise (other than walls)
I don't have a limit on planeswalkers, but I do have a limit on card roles. I have no problem cutting Phyrexian Arena for a walker, but I definitely have problems cutting Dauthi Horror for one. Eventually you just don't have room for more value engines
I've heard like 3 people say how much of a blowout it is to have this removed in response to the ability, but I think the value is in holding the ability up. If I have 7 mana, I'm going to swat them in the air and continue my gameplan. The ability to blank removal by transforming in response is only upside
Also @Antipox, he can't dome for 10, only hits creatures and planeswalkers
This was one of my first thoughts but I think the "always loot" maxim applies and the effect is neutral. There is an equal chance that you mill stuff they don't want in their graveyard (their reanimation effects, etc.) as there is that you mill stuff they do want (fatties).
The always loot maxim applies to the person looting. Milling someone else will usually gain them resources. The mill is zero sum in terms of affecting topdeck quality but giving access to flashback spells, recurring creatures and other resources is not.
I think I like Overlord more than this. If I'm playing a reanimator deck, I think I'd rather see my target back in the grave than exiled for three turns. If regen and suspend 3 are about equal in value, I'd sooner keep the one that stays in the zones I'm using
I honestly don't like this much. Needing to survive 2 attacks and make it to turn 5 is a bit much. I think it needed to at least be an activated ability instead of an upkeep trigger for me to be interested

Still just as much of a blowout though
I don't think that works, you still have to obey the timing restrictions on the card you choose since it says you may cast it "This turn"
Consider the timing differences between the cascade mechanic Bloodbraid Elf and an effect more similar to this one Abbot of Keral Keep
Welp, there goes my desire to test this
