How was the forbidden alchemy? I almost put one in myself, and I'm actually really close to doing so. When I don't have anything relevant it also lets me mill myself to find something. Also renounce the guilds and d-sphere is a nonbo--this the o-ring in my list. Renounce is good enough to be played mainboard honestly as a singleton. It was very effective against a lot of decks.

Alchemy is very good. Digs you into what you need (often does it twice), and provides snapcaster fuel for later.

Clearly D Sphere comes out when you bring Renounce in. I was expecting a lot of junk tokens, and sphere is a great catch-all against any decks. Renounce comes in against Aristocrats and bant hexproof, where sphere doesn't do much anyways.

Every time I saw you cast Jace, he over performed. I think my foils need to come out of the binder and into some sleeves.

    So you got lucky.

You spiraled for 17, you had a good 20+ cards in your library.

But anyways, glad a 1-of was able to seal the deal for you multiple times.

Getting launched into the 0-1 bracket just anchored the entire tournament for me, had to play against some random garbage that I wasn't prepared for, and the deck didn't cooperate with me either way.

Here's the list I played to an X-2 finish:

    3 Snapcaster Mage
    3 Restoration Angel
    1 Aetherling

    3 Azorius Charm
    4 Think Twice
    2 Far/Away
    4 Sphinx's Revelation
    1 Forbidden Alchemy
    2 Syncopate
    1 Dissipate
    3 Warped Physique

    4 Supreme Verdict
    2 Detention Sphere

    1 Tamiyo, the Moon Sage

    4 Hallowed Fountain
    4 Glacial Fortress
    4 Drowned Catacomb
    3 Watery Grave
    4 Isolated Chapel
    4 Nephalia Drownyard
    2 Godless Shrine
    1 Island
    1 Cavern of Souls

    SB:

    2 Sin Collector
    2 Appetite for Brains
    2 Crypt Incursion
    2 Merciless Eviction
    2 Renounce the Guilds
    2 Negate
    2
    1 Jace, Memory Adept

I can't remember what the last two sideboard cards were. I'll figure it out.

Yeah, that's how the list works. But, it doesn't always work. Try drawing 20+ extra cards and not finding one of six hate cards two games in a row. Things fell into place for you I suppose.

Its just a little outrageous that I cast appetite to take a Jace, MA from you and you had your single purify to stop me from grabbing your spiral with snapcaster, and never drew one of my 7 post-board counterspells when you went to resolve spiral. Not to mention, you were dead to Aetherling both games and had all 4 drownyards to seal the deal (even g2 when your removal was boarded out)

No offense, Nathan/Warp, but after seeing your list, I can no longer disagree that you got insanely lucky against your opponents throughout the tournament.

In round 1, you drew all 4 Drownyards both games against the mirror, your 1 of Purify, 1 of Spiral, and so forth. Your opponent played flawlessly, but you drew the exact outs.

Against zombies, you miracled a Terminus twice with lethal on board with nothing relevant in hand. You also drew more 1 ofs (dead weight) in the perfect position.

A few other people were talking about how you had some ridiculous rips in their matches against you.

Congrats on your finish, but that list is not something I would recommend to anyone.

In EDH: Turn 1 Ebon Stronghold. Turn 2 City of Traitors into Grim Monolith, sac Stronghold, Ad Nauseam, display kill condition.

In legacy: I was playing Slivers against Belcher. Turn 2, he goes for the kill and I triple Daze his belcher leaving him one mana short of activating. He never draws an LED or anything and gets bashed by Vial on 2.

Okay, so I have been out of the standard meta for a long, long time, and I finally want to get back into it, and I see UW Delver putting up good results.

I was thinking of some variation of GerryT's list from the recent SCGO.

No thought scours? No phyrexian metamorphs? No sword of WaP? See, I don't even know what's good. I can only assume Sword of FaF is for the green aggro and to protect against dismember. I know why he plays 4 Resto Angels over 3, since they are insane in combat, against spot removal, and with Snapcaster.

If someone can explain this deck to me, thanks a ton. Also, how do I sideboard? I know Images are for legendary dudes or pains in the butt (Huntmaster, maybe geralf's messenger?) but, what do I take out? If someone can provide a complete sideboard guide, and why you board that way, thank you so very much. (I don't even know what to do with timely, amass, or sphinx) I guess Ghost Quarter must be for Wolf Run or something.

4 Piles on top, 3 Piles underneath, with lots of Hindu and Rift shuffles in-between.

Hm. I've seen a couple women playing at my shop, some very attractive, some... not so much? Not trying to be offensive, as it's the same way for guys there too.

Seeing as the original topic poster is banned, I don't know how relevant this topic is.

Umezawa's Jitte is insane against them. You use the -1/-1 effect to kill their dudes Grin

That is, if they don't have Steely. If he does have Steely, just beat him in the face with a huge, pumped creature.

I seem to always get blessed at prereleases and release events.

At the Morningtide Prerelease, I pulled Chameleon Colossus, Titan's Revenge, Taurean Mauler, Garruk, Doran, and some other crap rare from Lorwyn. Needless to say, my deck was busted.

At the Eventide release, I pulled 2x Demigod of Revenge, Figure of Destiny, Fire-Lit Thicket, Deathbringer Liege and Needle Specter. I played mono black :p

At the Conflux Prerelease, I pulled Noble Heirarch, Master of Etherium, Elspeth, Path to Exile, Apocolypse Hydra, Celestial Purge and some other jank. I actually lost round 1 to someone who opened Battlegrace Angel, Megnoloth, and just about every other on-color rare in the set. Frown

I traded a Stoic Angel, 4 10th Edition Terrors, and an Archdemon of Unx for an English Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. Go me Smile
