My ideas on the Vampire/Eldrazi connection: After the Titans were sealed the 2nd time, the last time the Three who sealed them where together, there magic still lingered in some form. This lingering magic was strongest in the swamps of Guul Draz, where a band of humans were living. The magic twisted them into vampires.
On a side note; the wiki says that Zendikari vamps live about 200 years old. Today's article implies that Drana is thousands of years old. Is that becasue she's a bloodchief or is it a retcon?
Cool that we got some insight into the Eldrazi's POV. Wonder what the "Broken" means? Was there some singular master plane that broke apart into what are the Planes now.
Was a good chapter. Nice to see that there is some strife in the command structure. And we're heading back to SeaGate, which I gather is where everything's going to happen.
While the story was good, I do have one question; why can't Jace just Planeswalk to the Eye? He said he could 'walk back to Sea Gate and he has been to the Eye.
About Nissa being mana short: I would wait for another zendikarian mage appearing to predict the cause of that. Gideon not being affected might mean everything between "he's not affected since only green mana suffered" and "he's not affected since majority of his mana bonds are formed with other planes".
There was that Kor healer, so it seems white hasn't been affected.
Well, interesting. Nissa becoming disconnected from Zendikar is troubling. Have the Eldrazi damaged so much of the plane that Ashaya couldn't remain manifested and Nissa's deep connection to her meant losing Ashaya caused her too lose all mana bonds? Did it have something to do with Jace and Gideon arriving? Or is Ob Nixilis doing something to regain his spark before the plane rots away?
I think Niv knows about Planeswalkers exist, given that fellow guild founder Azor is presumed to be one, or brought to Ravnica by one. Odds are he has a good idea that Jace may be a Walker and sees a difference in what he knows an Old Walker had and what Jace has displayed.
Nice to see some more Nahiri. Such a tragedy that her efforts to ensure her people could deal with any issues with the prison turned into Eldrazi worship. And the vampires being not a part of Zendikar when she went to sleep, interesting. I wonder where Sorin is, it doesn't seem like he'd ignore that call.
Also do we know when Ob Nixilis came to Zendikar? was it during Nahiri's centuries among her people, during her waiting waking up only to deal with him, or after this story.

Old would be Vryn/Kaladesh (We need a full set on either) or Dominaira or Alera.
