They are up on hasbro for $110+ tax and shipping. Sold out now, but they were up for at least 15 minutes, if not more. That's a lot longer than they were up for the last two years. I have no idea if there was a limit, as I only wanted one. If it's like previous years and there is a limit, people who tried to order multiples and scam the system will have their orders cancelled and the remaining sets will go up in a few days.
I would prefer if Scry1 came into play when one player starts with 2+ less cards than the highest after mulligan hand size in the game, but that's just me. That would seem to server the stated purpose of helping to even out games that might seem unwinnable. The current idea seems to really alter the decision process when keeping 7 or going to 6, and seems to shift the balance even further toward being on the draw, since they are already able to make their mulligan decision with information about Player 1.
I have an XBOX 360, and a Surface pro 3. I didn't really like the xbox interface in the past, it always felt clunky. The old IPAD interface seemed better, when I was able to try on a friend's Ipad, but maybe I just don't remember well. In any case, what is the recommended version? Xbox? or Windows?
Ready for my ignorance in 3...2...1...
What happens if you take control of an opponent's creature that this is attached to, and then that creature dies while you control it?
I suppose this is a question for any equipment at any time. If I control the creature that the artifact is attached to, do I also control the artifact, such that I could switch it to my creature anyway, or if that creature dies it stays on my side of the field waiting for me to attach it?
I don't see the big problem with this card. It may not be a constructed card, but card draw every turn on t5 (how hard is it to accel an artifact by one turn?) would be horrible for a non-rare. And yet it will serve to make the limited environment fun.
Did a stored CC payment go faster than paypal, having to go through the extra step of the paypal login window and confirmation before going back to hasbro? I tried with paypal, thought it was pretty fast, but now I'm still wondering how it could be faster since I didn't get through.
Also, for the previous poster, how did you have time to go through firefox, have it not work, then go through IE and have it work? Or was that an issue of you trying with the two payment methods and two shipping addresses at once, and IE was just faster?
Congrats again to those who got them. The monitor I'm using just isn't the right one, 2 minute intervals is too slow. I heard the alarm, rushed through the process, and it was sold out on my confirmation page. Oh well.
I'm guessing this time was it. But a boy can dream I guess.
I grabbed a plugin called alertbox for firefox. Everything I found for chrome basically said it was spyware. Anyway, problem with alertbox is it only checks every 2 minutes.
I've seen a few different ones being used, but all I looked at yesterday for Google Chrome mentioned sharing all your data and your online activity. I would rather not have spyware running. Does anyone know of one of these programs that updates faster than every 2 minutes, and isn't a spyware program?
Each guild has 4 possible allies. So thats 40 different packs. But then half are doubles, so its 20. Right?
Yup, so again, it comes down to if the pack on the front is the primary guild, and the secret is on the back. If not, and if they are symmetric packs, or at least functionally symmetric, then there are only 20.
That doesn't mean that ALL Rakdos players will get Orzhov as their secret guild. The guy playing Rakdos right next to you might get Gruul as his/her secret guild. It's supposed to be "randomized."
I suggested that given a primary on the front of the pack, the guild on the back will be one of the TWO from the other set that share a color not from your guild. My suggestion is that a Rakdos player will get either Orzhov or Boros, since they share white, meaning that Rakdos players will get guildpacks in BRw. In other words, your selection of a guild is a selection of a shard or wedge.
I think the most likely thing is that stores will look at the front or back to give you your guild choice, in which case it is basically random. However, I think that if they go by what's on the front, then in order to not have multiple different boxes covering all 40 combinations, you will be picking your third color as well.
Rellok, you're making this much more difficult than it is. They've said multiple times... you pick a guild, and the secret ally is one of the possible allies from the other set.
Azorious can be paired with UB, BW, RW, and UG
Selesnya can be paired with BW, GR, RW, and UG
I agree, but doesn't that leave 40 different packs? Again, if the guild you pick, is the guild on the front (the pre-release packs are not symmetrical) then there are 40 possibilities, and a box with 20, "one for every possible pair" doesn't account for every pair with a given primary.
Anyway, as I see it there are three possibilities.
1) the guild you pick could be on the front or the back of the pack you get.
2) You pick the guild and it's on the front (secret on the back), and there are 40 possibilities, so boxes of 20 are not all the same.
3) You pick the guild and it's on the front, and there are only 20 possibilities, only two for each primary guild, so that all the boxes of 20 are the same.
My guess is that all of the boxes of 20 packs are the same.
Looking at the packs, it may simply be store choice, you can clearly see both front and back guilds, so they may decide that the front of the pack is your primary guild, or may not care.
It is worth noting, because the packs are not symmetrical, and they said there are 20 in a box that cover the pairs, that my theory does meet this criteria (as would 20 symmetrical packs with each combo).
Matt (and yeah, this probably is overthinking, but I often do)
You'll be able to see your secret guild on the back of the guild box... 3:55
Cool that we'll get buttons!
They said the box will have one pack for every possible pairing, 20 in total, I wonder if the packs are really just dual sided, or if there is a primary and "secret" guild. Either they are just dual sided, or there are really only two possibilities for each main guild, if all are contained in the 20 piece box.
IF that is the case, my prediction is that the secondary guild will be one of the two guilds from the opposite set that share a color with each other.
Azorious = U/W + U/B or W/B for UWb
Selesnya = W/G + W/R or G/R for WGr etc.
They showed Gruul with Golgari, so that fits, G/R + R/B or G/B for GRb
And Rakdos with Boros, R/B + R/W or B/W for RBw
I guess most likely they are just dual sided packs, without a formal primary guild, so if someone picks Dimir, there are 4 packs in there they could get. Then again, the front side shows the Dragons Maze logo, and the back is blank, and the top of the pack is flat on the back. So there is some differentiation. So, I think that if you pick a guild, and that guild is on the front, then the "secret" guild will be according to my theory.
I was going to vote land after reading the options and descriptions, and then I read them again and felt like they were written to push people toward the land choice. In the end, I felt like a group could have more "fun" with a creature.
it never came up during the list compilations, and to be quite honest, I don't think it would have been a good idea. What outcome would have come out of identifying a pattern in the SD codes, other than being able to pick and choose guild packs containing the money rare? Doesn't seem like something that's overall good for the community.
Probably true. I was just staring at those 4 numbers in a row, noticing the "which one of these is not like the other" pattern, and wondering how much info was specified in that code. Curiosity needs its filters.
Even at a higher printing and lower value than previous sets, I'm glad to have finally been able to get in on one.

Obviously about 5 months late for the bestow Sovereign's question. No, it doesn't work.

Anyway, good luck, the cards are cool looking!
thanks,
