Actually, Sorin would do quite well against a single stag, It'll take 6 turns for the stag to single handedly take down Sorin and that gives you a lot of time to win, and the stag can't effectively race the +2 ability by attacking you either. Now 2 stags on the other hand, thats when the mono black deck pretty much loses without a Gargoyle Castle.
I can't get past the Add/Analyze sets part. Whenever I go to add the set it says that there was an error adding from spoiler and to check the file's syntax.
Now, I know that it has been working for everyone else, so I have no Idea what the problem is.
If it is of any consequence I'm running mws on a mac using an emulator (but it shouldn't matter, because I was able to add shards and conflux with a problem).
Edit: I was able to skip this entire problem by just replacing the master base with one updated with the set.
Time Stop is actually pretty fun if you can get up the mana for it. Not only does it hard counter things like banefire, it also reads "Play in your opponent's upkeep to skip their turn."
Ya, i love the Time Walk ability of it. Although, I almost tried to build a deck with it and most of the other cards in standard with time walk capabilities, then I realized that I would pretty much be building Faeries+Time Stop.
It's really a crapshoot of a meta call. It does great against Faeries, B/W Tokens, WW, and even 5cc (it's immune to their spot removal and their walls, letting you force them to sweep without overextending), but can fail horribly when put up against the likes of Boat Brew (arguably the most popular deck in standard) and Blightning (a deck that is gaining popularity, especially with Alara Reborn).
My verdict is that it is no longer main-deck material (Unless you are running some sort of Eventide B/W budget aggro), but definately belongs in the sideboards of a lot of decks out there.
thats actually a huge issue.. or atleast should be .. painlands rotating is huge, as with any duals. Problem is, the new duals will be atleast 5-6 each, but probably more .. to force people to get 2-3 playsets of each on such short notice is kind of unfair..
Who's forcing you to get so many playsets? Can't you just get the necessary playsets for the decks that you plan on playing and calling it a day?
The major thing about this is that, unike Vexing Shusher, this card is actually an efficient creature for its cost. It's a relatively under-costed beater that has the convenient ability of being counter-proof. Even if it does end up being sideboard material, it's still a great card to have.
Cryptic Command's versatility is simply through the roof. I can't think of any matchup for any deck in standard that it wouldn't be helpful in.
On the subject of splashing it into other decks, it is certainly doable in just about every deck in standard, it would just require such a commitment in the mana-base that it would end up being detrimental to the way most of standard's aggressive decks curve out . The loss of consistency outweighs the added versatility that CC provides.
Rupture Spire would be good as a 1 or 2-of in standard's 5cc decks. It makes a great turn 2 play for them (unless they want to Negate an opponent's Bitterblossom), but drawing more than 1 would destroy anyone's tempo.
It wouldn't be far if we see another Orim's Chant variant soon. Ain't I right? I see chant as a tempo card. Also, Excommunicate is making more sense now. When I first it, I said, WTF am I gonna do with this card. Its not even instant. White is the new tempo control.
We already have our Chant varient: Moonhold. Only problem is that you can't break it like Chant due to the color requirements for its effect, and it doesn't affect non-creature spells.

It's not broken, but it's efficient. I like it.
