I love the bear umbra, i hope green beats can do something, but i had a cool idea. What if wizards printed a rancor reprint with totem armor instead of return to hand?
i think he could be a 2 of in jund. turn 5 sarkan, i get to draw a card or that borderland ranger is now a 5/5 turn 6 broodmate hey there how bout 13 or 8 damage
I think that Grim Discovery is a card advantage machine. If you up to 4 scalding tarn and 2 other fetch, it becomes two mana for a land drop and a waste of that removal your opponent played
Now that U/W control is on the rise, do people think telemin performance could see 2 of sideboard. Basically 5 mana for a free iona and half their deck, or an auto loss for them
You will almost always get tsunami, due to the depths and ponders. However, you are not meant to play him turn 4 (except against control)
Make sure you remember the trigger!
There isn't much to explain, use normally decent creatures and then make them exceptional by always having landfall.
RAMP: you want to utilize ramp to get a decent amount of land or mana production before dropping tsunami, while still not dropping tsunami too late.
Do People Think Calcite Snapper is a good card for this deck? They struggle to get rid of it and if they are able to you get it back. It acts as an aggressive beater and a wall
@ Jack: I have been testing with an LD deck and trust me, silence is amazing (naya LD btw). It stops a turn three thrinax, warmonk, Kotr, knight of the white orchid, need i go on? You should really test it before you knock it
i actually wanna know what our plans are on tectonic edge.. it really really kills this deck.. like so badly it make me mad that its getting close to not playable because of one freaking card.. i didn't think that it would be so bad but my god was i wrong.. seeing more then one of them in a game is usually GG.. its half impossible to get 9 straight land drops and still have removal and counters left to stay alive. not to mention, some of the new jace decks run SS as well, which isn't easy to beat anyways, let alone when they mana screw us
im just curious as to how you all will be approaching this glaring problem.
also @ ob nixilis: This debate has been discussed at length, but god forbid you go back to look... I'm glad now that you are on the topic although it has been disproved many times before, YOU are right. Why would the two life matter. We play double negative because cascade MATTERS ALOT. But two life? Maybe you can kill them a turn earlier after a cruel.. when they have nothing in your hand.
Thanks Heron! Im glad you liked the deck and Im glad you feel it gives it more consistency, because thats what i was aiming for. I absolutely agree with you about the trap.
Although chandra deals damage, i feel she is too slow for a RDW. It is true that jace is an awesome card, but the double blue is hard to hit since i really only want a source of blue and the rest red.
I like the premise of this deck. I agree about what you say, and i see where you could be disappointed. Some card choice suggestions:
Liliana Vess: This card as a 2 or 1 of can get you wincons, and make your opponent half to play whatever is in their hand while in topdeck mode. Her ult is a wincon in itself also.
Mires Toll: Moar of this card. 1 mana discard is good almost no matter what.
Tectonic Edge: this needs to be in the deck. Screwing mana is a great thing. especially with discard.
I think there are so many ways to go with this deck. My favorites would be To go R/W/B, but idk about that.
i feel you need red for blightning, and white gives you the best removal there is.
Bestial menace got so much better

Now jund has a dark confidant that makes your bloodbraid better and makes broodmate awesome

Edit: guess i should talk about the card lol. Anyway, I think if the other eldrazi are this strong, summoning trap could become tier 1 or 2
