Just an idea that i was tossing about, ramping into the planeswalkers allows a solid base for card advantage, with mutilate, bonfire and the creatures protecting them.
Lillianas ultimate can be utilised really effectively in this deck as you can ultimate->bonfire/rr/devils play, and you can also use chandra's -2 for the same thing, doubling up any damage for the win.
Garruk serves as a token maker that can also remove small creatures and tutor up thragtusks, and mutilates are playable in this deck as farseek, ranger's path and lilliana always fetch swamps (overgrown tomb, blood crypt and plain swamps)
(i did look through the other threads and i dont think i saw something like this)
Races aren't really restricted to one plane. I mean, take the Vedalken, they showed up on Mirrodin, Shards of Alara, and Ravnica. (http://magiccards.info/query/cards/4135409.html) I'm no story buff, but I am pretty sure those are different planes. That being said, there is no reason that a tribe can't be on two different planes, it's been done before.
And the Ouphes too they appeared in mirrodin block didn't they? and Shadowmoor block
Hey why are you guys all calling rw lark boat brew?
Who came up with the name anyway?
Also, This deck cannot out card advantage half of the decks in this meta, especially lark and 5 colour, and sometimes faeries and even tokens or ww because of their windbrisk and maybe ranger of eos. the only card advantage cards in our deck are profanes, BB, and manlands, which you dont really want to trade. I mean, im doing quite well with this deck, but im sure there are better decks.
i reckon all the elves with sacellum and naya names will be naya coloured, our best hope from conflux is a non elf card, and conflux is shaping up to be worse than shards as well.
im having trouble with kithkin and rw vengeant weenie as well, and i think we need a better way to deal with them im maining two warhammers now, and since there is absolutely no lark aat all in my meta...? i dunno havent played it in weeks, there are now 4 more kithkin hating sideboard slots... any suggestions? (btw i took out the macabres.) i couldnt think of more stuf against kithkin so i might end up bringing 4 guttural responses.
Also, got a tie last week against faeries... stupid stupid tie, had the kill the next turn after overtime. i suppose i deserved it we both mullied a lot, and that took a while.
The idea is fine though, as the cards you mentioned are the scariest. going turn one fod and turn 2 windbrisk with cloudgoat on the bottom and turn 3 specproc is very scary indeed. pithing needles will probably ensure that the cloudgoat is permanently disabled, and bitterblossoms can chump block away at their fod and spec proc. ill admit though that i would rather see infest or cloudthreser that turn.
post sb vs some matches it can be just
4 llanowar elves
4 wrens run vanquisher
1 imperious perfect (-3 for +3 finks)
3 civic wayfinder
1 chameleon colossus (in some matches i board out this dude especially q&t))
1 eyeblights ending
=
14 elves (very risky)
yeah have been havign the same problem post board cos you usually take out the elves and not the profanes, thoughtseizes, etc. how do the rest of you sideboard to keep a strong pack of elves?
1st turn birds
2nd turn wall + visionary
3rd turn endrek
4th turn chord of calling for the big dumb dragon like in extended dragon elves and swing for lots with haste
you can also chord of calling for your trinket mage, which fetches an answer, or you can play skullclamps, cycle through your tokens endlessly until you have enough mana to hardcast a big dumb dragon or just swing for lots with tokens. I know the list isnt the cheapest, but you can always swap out the birds for something else like a gemhide sliver?
4 Thragtusk
3 Vampire Nighthawk
3 Chandra, the Firebrand
3 Garruk Relentless
3 Lilliana of the Dark Realms
2 Devil's play
2 Rakdos's Return
1 Dreadbore
4 Farseek
4 Mutilate
1 Ranger's Path
4 Dragonskull Summit
2 Forest
2 Mountain
4 Overgrown Tomb
4 Swamp
4 Woodland Cemetery
