I'm still disappointed there's no squirrel planeswalker. There was images of ultrapro unstable products which showed a squirrel and a golden nut. So disappointed.

I thought so too, but it's just the promo version of Earl of Squirrels, still a cool card.

Okay let me be the first to do this: Saint Elenda is the Myojin of Night's Reach, "Hair like a raven's wings and nails like lightning's edge" gave it away Dancing Banana

But joke aside, good story, if it just focused on Mavren alone it might have been better, he is hilarious Grin

Can’t wait to play him in my Edgar EDH, I will be throwing away my lifecounter while yelling "I KNEW WE DID NOT NEED THESE TOOLS OF DECEPTION!" and „My faith in Elenda will guide me to victory!"

I wonder if the Minotaur is the stranded pw Angrath. I say this only because we haven't seen/heard minotaurs mentioned anywhere else in the news about Ixalan. Additionally, we know Angrath is part of the pirate faction, that pw often appear as a "face" for booster packs, and that BR (the seemingly likely colors for Angrath) are the go-to minotaur colors.

That was my first thought too, he seems a bit out of place, but would perfectly fit b/r and being and angry pirate captain who wants to burn the world.

It would not be the first time that we got 4 walkers in a set, but he did not appear on the leaked sheet, does this rule him out?

The flavor is the idea of summoning that PW from different stages of their existence. For example, having Venser PW and Venser Legend out at once. This is a game with temporal magic.
Honestly, summoning either Venser alone would require some shenanigans, considering that he's dead. Summoning both (or, say, an army of Gideons) isn't much of a stretch after that.
Basically I haven't been able to function since the Jace reveal. Ixalan is a better Zendikar than Zendikar was already. I can't even care about the PW rules.

So far the world is doing good, it even got its own Ob-Nixilis Grin

So there's some interesting things here. First, it looks like some of the people here might actually know about planeswalkers (some of the cards refer to a new planeswalker named Angrath). Secondly, I don't think Bolas sent Vraska to Ixalan to do some dirty work for him, River's Rebuke seems to suggest that he's trying to get rid of her (she followed the compass Bolas gave her...right into a trap).

Even more interesting tidbit about Angrath I think is that whoever he/she is cannot leave the plane, so are planeswalker stuck there, until they claim the city?

I don't see what all this fussing about Innistrad is. There's at least one other continent to explore with elves and non-lupine lycanthropes. And they havent even touched the story of the UBR skeleton, horror lord who stumbled through a suspiciously tree shaped planar portal and found himself on a snow covered mountain overlooking a city of industrious elves ruled over by a jovial WR giant. Lets stop whining about the past and look forward to the future.
    Smile

Yo what? Where is this ever referenced? I NEED

I, err, I'm pretty sure the whole last half of that post was just a reference to the Nightmare Before Christmas...???

The additional continent, and the elves I think, were mentioned/hinted at having actually existed though??? Maybe? It sounds familiar anyhow.

They mentioned the elves of Innistrad at some point, here is the quote from our wiki:

"According to the creative team, Elves were once present on Innistrad, but were driven to extinction."

One strike against the Vampire deck being Mardu is that there are currently only six white Vampires in total, all WB. Even if some set were to, I dunno, introduce monowhite Vampires, it would be too late for them to make this product.

Granted you do have Sorin and some on-theme cards like Campaign of Vengeance to help, but even that constitutes a small part of the 99. If the Vampire deck is Mardu, white will without a doubt be the lowest-density color in the list. But at least you could look forward to running those theoretical monowhite Vampires alongside their BR kin.

First of all ixalan is bring ping white vampires to the table it's not going hit six anymore

Second of all the deck itself will have new white vampires.

Or Edgars eminence turns all your creatures into vampires Grin
inb4 Human sub-theme and he turns all humans into Vampires and gives them lifelink during combat or something. More flavor that way, but good idea.

That would be a flavor homerun, now I got my hopes up again Grin

It would also provide all the vampires with sacrifice abilities some human token to eat. If I remember correctly it was the original purpose of the ritual, fighting against food shortage, by letting some feast on the blood of the many.

Finally Edgar, it’s been far too long, and finally a edh deck I can fit Yahenni in Grin

If the deck is indeed mardu, then I would guess that Anje and Runo or two color legends, not mardu themselves.

Runo was a high priest before becoming a vampire, so he could be white/black. I know he was a priest of the god of the sea and storms, which sounds more like blue, but still.

Anjes bloodline is more about predation, even before the corruption of emrakul, so she could be a black/red legend.

Nicol Bolas can no longer afford to ignore those bellow him. Now that he is weaker, those lowly mortals can actually present a threat to his plans.

That got me thinking, maybe he learned from the whole Umezawa dilemma, or it's still somewhere in the back of his mind. The Situation back then was different, but the essence was the betrayal of a minion, so why not kill them, most of all a God that openly states she is ambition incarnate.
