There have been some updates to the prize support (see here). This event is SUNDAY! Please come out if you're in any way available. This is a charity event to support a friend of ours who was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Hope to see you there. We've got a ton of people who have donated over $5K in prize support to this event, which will probably be the highest EV event this side of an invitational.
At Squabbles we tend to focus on fun and the lighter sides of life, but unfortunately life isn't always fun and games. Our good friend Charles Potts was diagnosed with colon cancer in May of this year, and has been fighting for his life for the past few months. Luckily he's one of the toughest guys I know, and has been giving his all to kick butt cancer's ass, but the whole ordeal has left him with with quite a few financial difficulties. The last thing Charles should worry about is money, so we wanted to run an event to help Charles out! Through the generous donations of our friends we've been able to put together a kick-ass event where all entry fees will go to Charles and his family!
DATE: Sunday, September 20th FORMAT: Modern ENTRY: $25 Entry TIME: Registration starts at 11, event begins at Noon. LOCATION: Squabbles Trading Cards
6711 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061
While the final prize structure will be decided the day of the event, I'll be posting every addition to the prize pool to the facebook page as we get them!
If you would like to donate to Charles or to the prize pool of this event, send the MTGFIRST facbeook page a message or stop by Squabbles Trading Cards anytime before the event!
Please invite your friends and anyone else that you think could make it out to help with this great cause!

UPDATE:
More specifically concerning the 8 person Win-A-Box side events, we will run whatever format players want whether it is Legacy, Modern, Standard or EDH, we'll fire an event for you so long as we get eight folks. Of course Drafts are assumed, don't worry!
Purple has been used in black artwork before. However, I used several other arguments to make my point, and the quantity of purple is surprising. Relative to other sets, there is a much higher density here in Theros.
It's reeel easy:
Other art hasn't used the night sky (and thus, starscapes and nebulae/galaxies) to illustrate negative space like this set does, so purple is naturally gonna show up more often here than in other sets.
We're not gonna get a sixth color now. It'd be cool if they did it in the future, but man, it'd be a disaster to try and shoehorn it in in the middle of a block, right after a multicolor block.
If this happens, it'll be a legendary land or a single land that has an effect (or like, a multi-land).
When MaRo has spoken about artifact lands, he generally was speaking of the colored lands, and not of darksteel citadel (which is a perfectly fine card).
That being said, I think it's more likely that we'd get a manland that becomes an enchantment creature.
ok but let's make a list of the strongest legacy cards:
blue:
-brainstorm: strong, used and abused but is not an incisive card, doesn't turn a loss into a win
-force of will: THE counter, if there's a splash of blue, there's FoW. why don't ban it? because is like brainstorm and also is probably the most sold card in magic.
-snapcaster mage: maybe, it's TOO strong for this format
green:
-tarmogoyf: strongest creature ever, but there's a lot of hate for it, doesn't need a ban, also because it should be reprint soon.
-green sun's zenith: maverick, no rug, bant, zoo, now all this already strong decks have a tutor, a TOO STRONG tutor that can be used and re-used and really could turn a loss into a win.
red:
there's nothing that should be banned, IMHO
white:
stoneforge mystic: already banned in ext and modern, she (unfortunately) won't be banned. but I REALLY hope they will.
black:
dismember: I hope they won't ban it, but it's too much similar to Mental Misstep
entomb/reanimate: they won't ban this, or they won't sell the premium deck graveborn
artifact:
batterskull: if they don't ban SFM, they should ban this
So I'm not sure if you're trolling or not.
Actually, yes I am. Everyone who posted above this post was trolled.
1U:Mirror-Mad Phantasm's owner shuffles it into his or her library. If that player does, he or she reveals cards from the top of that library until a card named Mirror-Mad Phantasm is revealed. The player puts that card onto the battlefield and all other cards revealed this way into his or her graveyard.
Are we sure this works if MMP is a token? or does it just fizzle the ability (because we're not actually shuffling the token into our library?) -- Sorry to Necro this thread, but it's kinda relevant suddenly.
Please let dead threads rest in peace. You should have made a new thread for this question. -Carsten
Another dumb question since I know nothing about Vintage or Legacy, but I ask because I got a Library in the mail yesterday... What would you guys think it would be worth if it were unbanned?
in legacy?
If it gets unbanned, prepare for a 3x price spike.
the only thing keeping them below $200 now is that they're restricted in vintage, if they were unrestricted *AND* unbanned - lights out. it's a curtain call.
Honestly even as good as it is (and its a great card) I cant see library having much impact of legacy. Not when virtually every competitive deck in the format runs 4 wastelands (and sometimes 4 ports) and if were talking about vintage they already have access.
you're joking, right?
it *wouldn't* have an impact on legacy?
well, not other than making Lands far-and-away the best deck, and landstill would be more insane than it is.
Hope to see you there. We've got a ton of people who have donated over $5K in prize support to this event, which will probably be the highest EV event this side of an invitational.

There are some cards with duplicate names which represent two versions of the same card with a variation on the mechanic.
Feel free to ask questions here or in the comments!
Thanks!

Fire and Lightning didn't.
The foiling process looked amazing on those, hopefully they go in the same direction for these, but we'll see.
YOU MAKE A POWERPOINT PRESO FOR CHRISTMAS EVERY YEAR?
Pre-ordered 4 of these just on the Animate Deads and Entombs. I wish they would've preserved Animate Dead's original art though.
can someone please post it to the first post?!
it wouldn't.
This card infinite combos with well over 25 cards, and literally every card with multikicker.
Natural Order
