Not the way he described it, and he's right, that is the worst case scenario. Sac trigger goes on the stack, and in response the Abomination eats a Murderous Cut. The sac trigger resolves, forcing you to sac a different creature, and since the Abomination is gone, the second trigger doesn't happen.

So the worst case scenario is a 2-for-2, that's not a bad trade at all. Now if you have a Scion to sac in response to the Murderous Cut then that will be just value.

No, the worst case scenario is your opponent responding to the sac trigger by using removal on the eldrazi. Then you lose two creatures and draw none.

you still get to draw a card.

Ephara synergies with Pack Rat is also good for Esper control. Ephara gives you a card every upkeep of the following turn you created a rat token which can be used to discard for more Pack Rat activation next turn. You can't do that shenanigans with either Heliod, Erebos, or Thasa.

Or the anthem on the card could be better.

+1/+0 and haste for red creatures
+0/+1 and vigilance for white creatures.

Would make this worthy as a mythic, alas no.

This card already gives vigilance and haste to all your creatures not just red or white if you know how to use it so your version is somewhat redundant and unnecessary. Seriously why does people do not see the power of this card? If you have enough mana you can cast a creature blink it to give it haste and after that blink it some more for protection or defensive(blocking) purposes. For the love of god read the card.

the fact that the praetors are legendary makes them not nearly as powerful as they could be. the fact that playing your own in a mirror match makes theirs just kill yours means that they wont likely be played en masse. and rarely as ever more than a 2-3 of.

Why does the legendary clause make preators not nearly as powerful as they could be? Isn't plainswalker the same when it comes to "I kill your Gideon with my own Gideon", and no one plays PW's because of the "Legend Rule". Actually its worse with PW's because if your opponent plays Glissa, the Traitor atleast your Glissa, the Seeker will survive but if your opponent plays Jace 1.0 your JTMS will hit the bin. I don't get this argument.

thanks for all the reply. i got confused with with the word "play" because i thought that playing and resolving the spells was enough to trigger the requirement for twilight shepherds citp ability like triggered abilities with the clause "whenever you play". atleast it is clear to me now. thanks again.

hey guys i have a question. does twilight sheperd's come in to play ability includes instants and sorceries that was put into your graveyard from play the turn twilight sheperd came in to play? it should clearly include them because if the intention was to bring back to your hand only permanents thats been put to your graveyard then it should have stated that. if so then playing turn to mist or momentary blink on your twilight sheperd should return your mist/blink to your hand when sheperd returns to play right.

if that bw creature is an artifact then esper is going to be nuts. can you imagine this guy with scarecrone in play? it's like for 1bw it says look at your opponents hand and chose a card from it then remove it from the game permanently you draw a card. and you can do this repetitively with scarecrones second ability. nuts.
