Rest In Peace: Have you ever been fortunate enough to experience what it’s like to surgical all the Thing in the Ices and Phoenixes out of a deck only to lose to a Crackling Drake? I have...more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes Surgicaling threats is the right call, sometimes RiP is better. Having the ability to switch between the two has felt so good in this current meta.

    Ok, commence the pitchforking

Crackling Drake - Read the card again and see your comments Wink

The problem with splashing white is turning it into a control/mill deck which is too slow for the meta. Being a swiss army knife of a deck slows the milling by a lot which will cause us games.

Sunday evening got email that my package shipped, about 20 minutes ago knock at the door. Fedex guy handed me a package it was the Masterpiece box. All I can say is I have my fingers crossed for those still in limbo.

Any pictures? I'm still unable to find any photo proof of it being delivered on the internet.

What do people think of Vivien's Arkbow for filtering in mid/late game? Might help convert some of the useless dorks into threats in a more creature heavy version.

I like it as a SB card for the grindy matchups. The problem is the meta being too fast right now and grindy matchups are rare. It may replace tracker as tracker is just too slow and I always side my trackers out.

I probably should have not shuffled my library in a way that my Round 1 opponent would shuffle me to all land or no land.

Uhmm did you mean you mana weaved and got screwed by it? Or what type of deck manipulation did you use?

    Hey everyone!

A user on reddit, trainowns, just posted a Simic turns list featuring Wilderness Reclamation and Nexus of Fate! Post on /r/TurnsMTG, on /r/Spikes, and decklist on MTG Goldfish.

It's somewhat different from a traditional Turns list, leaning more on Pull from Tomorrow rather than Howling Mine effects to really draw through your deck. Very interesting brew!

The wincon is bloody slow, winning via mikokoro milling or snap beats. But if it works consistently, its good.

hi guys, i'm passing on the torch to another user on MTGS (zcowan) to have a stab at updating the thread. Thanks for everything!

transfer will happen over the next couple of days, if I had to guess.

Thank you for updating this thread and keeping the discussion following during your turn as thread starter Smile

Instant speed time warps and exhaustion. Looks so good on paper, now to test it out in RL

Turns mirror is pretty stupid lol

Most games revolves around gigadrowsing on opponent end step and going off afterwards from my experiences

For the UR turns, will Magmatic Insight be good as serum #5~8 or even as a mine replacement? UR turns seems to be more tempo than combo and having more cards earlier seems to be better. Or is it on par with AV and thus not needed for the deck?

Btw does anyone have any advice for the KCI matchup other than hope your opponent loses their deck before the round starts?
I feel like with the diversity of the format you don't really want to be running stony silence since it really only affects that matchup.. but at the same time.. I have found that surgical extraction and other cards that target are easily maneuvered around..

I was contemplating running like 1-2 ceremonious rejection in the sideboard now; just because going up against the deck was awful the other night.. I literally just sat there for like twenty five minutes as he monotonously said "sac an engineered explosives - produce two mana" blah blah blah lol

Remove all but 2 dictates. Mull for SB hate cards (hurkyls, discard, stony, artifact destruction) depend on what splash you play or counters (aim for stirrings or KCI only). Out grind them while hoping you draw better. Know when to concede due to time pressure.

    Hello, fellow land destroyers!

Went 4-0 with this list: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/970917#paper

    Matchups were:
    • Mono-Black Devotion (2-1, lost one to a big Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet)
    • Sultai Midrange (2-1, lost one to land screw + discard on my ramp)
    • Infect (2-0)
    • Bant Spirits (2-0)

More details on how you won Infect and Bant Spirits? Those are rough for Ponza.

Remember, the PPTQ/RPTQ system is going away, and if they announced its replacement please tell me.

Still a work in progress. Or basically nothing but a name change for PTQ confirmed. It is so dismissal that the initial article (which was later edited) was mentioning WCQ for PT Fort Worth, Dallas

So from your play testing, how has mono blue been going? Do you see a wide range of decks, and do you feel like your sideboard has enough answers? I had to give up on mono blue and go to a color splash. I didn't feel like I could properly answer everything going on

Mono U got a good match-up against big mana, midrange and control decks. Any non Dredge/phoenix aggro decks are problematic. We have to draw our sideboard cards and hope our opponent stumbles when we are facing mass creatures.

I define a good match-up with more than 60% win rate. Dredge is an outlier with a WR greater than 80% ever since chill got printed. Spirits and other tribal decks are almost impossible. You got to hit a Titi and letting it survive long enough to flip.

What mono U lacks is a dearth of hard removal. Bouncing creatures is soso when they have active vials on the battlefield.

As for Mission Briefing, it was about as good as Snapcaster most of the time. I'm still not 100% convinced that the first Mission Briefing is better than the fourth Snapcaster, but I think if you want 5 or more copies of that effect in your deck, Mission Briefing is great. Thanks zcowan for the suggestion!

It helps to "dig" more with surveil 2. Sometimes you just need a card to stablise that is currently not in your GY but on the top 2 cards of your library. But the other times, a 2/1 ambush viper is just what you need.

For a monno U turn deck, I'm favouring mission briefing over a 3rd/4th snapcaster currently.
