    Deathrite shaman =\= blue card

Diversity available. It really just sounds like you personally have issues with the card. The format is very much fine with it.

To me they were cards that caused people to play worse magic. People called cruise a recall but ignore the 4+ cards they played to make that true. That said they are also blue. Their banning to me is more of a strive for non blue decks, ie diversity.

People play the best cards available to them. Island has a higher showing so we should ban that. People create bad play patterns, a positive for those who recognize that in their opponent.

No discussion needed for no existing problem.

Glad you enjoyed it and had a good outing. I always wanted to tweak the mana as I've been stuck on 2 lands more then I'd like... but the deck functions there. I have been wanting to update for some time. Mathas is something I really want to try here is I feel it does so many things that I want in a single card. Otherwise that 3 pronged attack is why I loved this deck. On top of that most of the cards are good on their own.

My only concern with my build was my life total. The deck can be harsh there and is why I wanted green for DRS. Mathas is something I feel can help there while being a threat. Collective brutality feels like a card the deck is missing and needs. And kolghans command can also do some work. If I get a chance perhaps I can go back to this deck. There are a lot of old ideas I would like to revisit.

    Parfait could be an option.

Well I run 2 rips main and a third in the board (previously leyline of the void) and have not had any problems in the years I've been playing the deck. Having single card win conditions to supplement this also helps. I would probably err on not needing the 4th unless you expect heavy graveyard based decks. Most decks shouldn't care about rip unless you are going to win or it's of a minor cost to them to deal with.

2 blasts has again seemed correct for my lists life time. Red is a splash so I don't want to need it. The deck can reliably get the colours it needs, but I would rather have access to white as a priority. With most decks even splashing for blue though you should play at least 2.

Keg vs bomb really comes down to man lands. If you need to hit them keg, if not bomb.

We have an amazing shot through bannings. I've literally watched the meta change, and with no real changes to my deck, get even better matchups. Indirectly we prey on the meta and that's really where the board will shine.

People playing a game doesn't change it's collectability. An investment into a collectible is just that, an investment. All that is likely to accomplish is a slower moving ceiling.

I was meaning that I have 3 o rings main as catch alls so that game 2 I have access to better options specific to the matchup.

I've never thought the storm matches hard, it's just they win if they get the nuts and we don't usually interact in the first few turns. Ghostly prison beats warrens readily while trinisphere can just beat the deck. But this is really where the blasts can become more important as stopping filtering of any sort can aid in Beating storm.

My third rip was leyline of the void for the longest time simply because it doesn't get decayed. I had to revert back to an actual rip for its yard clearing.

So what are your sideboard concerns?

On sideboard issues, this is why I like having cards like oblivion ring in the main. It gives us access to an answer for just about everything. I feel like therein lies one of the strengths of parfait; we have access to a lot of generally good cards. This means we can make the sideboard full of lasers if we want because we can create a versatile core to play from.

So drmrkb if your main deck is truly versatile and strong then your sideboard shouldn't be a worry. I can entertain using approach the second sun as a sideboard card. As long as you can plug holes there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

    Replenish

They have not and will not reprint to flood the market so the impact is minimal. The slight aside to that is alternate art/frames also create another market for the same card without really affecting the price too much for the original. That kind of highlights that ultimately if they use different art for a reprint they could potentially flood the market with that version to keep a low price for a playable version while maintaining the collectability of the original.

Collectors need players to create the demand.

You could play plow if it's such an issue. I used to back in the extended days.
