The unkown deck deck was a green/red mana rampish deck with a ton of DDW hate mainboard. Troll and Colossus with Loxodon Warhammer is pretty good against anyone, though.
I like the Ancestral Vision idea. The only problem might be playing it early enough for it to matter with only four turn one blue mana sources and only eight blue sorces total.
If you end up playing a slight effect in response to a kill spell or after blocks are declared, that could counter some of the card disadvantage, but some kind of spell-based card drawing would be useful.
In an attempt to make FNM not boring -- I'm really tired of playing faeries -- I thought I'd try to an old idea: Knights with protection + Slight of Mind. Here's a rough draft.
