Ajani is in the SB because one resolved against the mirrior match is FTW. Destroying all lands of my oppenent seems great.
I will take on the idea of running Firespouts again. I don't think they are needed though, having the two jund charms, for the instant speed pyroclasm.

This is Standard, in case you were unaware.
In this format, you can't run ANY deck with less than 22 lands.
Let me repeat that. YOU CANNONT RUN ANY DECK IN STANDARD WITH LESS THAN 22 LANDS.
Standard =|= Legacy, and Standard =|= Vintage.
Please, please learn the difference.

I'm currently running 1 ponder with 21 lands and it's working out fine. I may go up to 2 ponder and 24 though, if I stop getting lucky.

Maybe you are running unnecessary cards. For me, there is nothing I could replace Ajani goldmane with. His synergy with Finks (which I bring in also) is just too great.
The RDW vs Kithkin is the match I have more experience with than any other, I have not lost to this deck ever, even when they were OG, and Ajani has a large part to do with that.

A lot of the RW Kithkin still use Goldmane and Elspeth instead of Vengeant. It's pretty important that you run some form of pump in this deck. Mirror Entity is making a come back.

The reason Ajani > Anthem is the fact it can make a token. It does happen often that you +1 him, especially against control decks. Even if it gets bounced by cryptic command that means something else wont get hurt.
A rule of thumb though is never kill your planeswalker unless your sure you can resolve a second one. I have lost a lot of games because I kill them too soon.
So clearly a 4-drop is better?

Because you can turn Mutavault into a creature by tapping it before your untap step. In that case, a 3 mana card is better since you dont need to use mutavault to cast it on turn 4.

If you are refering to Vengeant, then IDK, that card seems kind of slow (it should have had 4 loyalty).
Reveillark is horrid against any deck that runs Sower.
