Resolved a kicked Rite of Replication on a Rune-scarred demon. Searched for a damnation, lightning greaves, triskellion, mephadross vampire, and hinder. I lost. He had a cryptic command and a time warp and hit me for general damage with a sakashima the imposter as a inkwell leviathan....Wasn't mad at all.
Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief is always good for a mono black tribal list. She can play aggro or control too which is really nice because you can build the deck however you want.
Played Spelljack countering Vengeful Rebirth, returned Time Stretch to my hand, played Sakashima, the Imposter copying Akroma, Angel of wrath and swung for general damage over the course of my free turns.
Not sure if this works (someone please correct me if it didnt), BUT:
He had a Time Warp in his graveyard. I played Memory Plunder targeting it. He Spelljacked it. I played Wild Ricochet targeting Spelljack. The way we worked it out was that my Wild Ricochet caused the Spelljack copy to counter the original, which gave me control of it, which let me play Memory Plunder.
Looks like they realized how much planeswalkers warp standard right now...There are soooo many things that get around them now. Green vindicate, hex parasite, and the new oblivion ring. Wowzers.
Can somebody please explain how to get the card database downloaded it did not automatically download when the program was done being downloaded on my computer
Seems fair enough, its more like Mind Rot that can get better instead of blighting that gets worse.
Something I was just thinking about:
Enveloping Roots 1G
Enchantment-Aura
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature's name is now Forest (It loses all abilities, power, and toughness and becomes a basic land-forest.).
Not sure if this would work rules-wise, but I intended for it to be sort of a green pacifism.
I dunno, I'm beginning to think that maybe I should remove the Mana Leaks altogether and play some Everflowing Chalice in that slot for the sake of ramping just incase I can't seem to pull a grand architect. The Leaks have saved me on a couple of occasions but they haven't exactly been back-breaking. With the Eldrazi Monument I used to run Precursor Golem as well, specifically for monument synergy. If I rearranged the deck so it was more controlling and had a mid-late game plan instead of an early ramp plan, I'd more effectively be capable of playing counters.
Maybe remove the cryptologists from the deck altogether, since I rarely seem to level them up as it is atm and Lighthouse Chronologist does the same thing with a stronger possibility of living.
If you are using counterspells as a just in case strategy, it might be a better idea to use hard counters like Cancel or the metalcraft version of the same card. It seems like this deck always has something to do early on and it doesnt want to leave counter mana open. I have found the cryptologists to be excellent, as they help you dig for answers early on and give card advantage later. The Chronologist is also more likely to have a target painted over its head, whereas the cryptologist is more likely to go under the radar until it because unanswerable. By that time, you probably have one of your heavy artifact dudes out, so it draws removal from other things.
I think its alot more resilient against control because of the golem/engine + monument synergy. The monument also can let you push through damage if you haven't drawn any of your artifact beaters. I am currently trying to decide whether or not I should fit in Steel Hellkite, because its pretty insane and the architect can be used to Disk your opponent OR pump it if you need to get some extra damage through. As always, the evasion is pretty important too if you can get a monument out.
Because nothing says screw you like an immortal dragon planeswalker slapping your opponent in the face with a sword made from himself.
Skylasher for $1.50? These just seem too good to be going for that cheap.
