I haven't seen it being used, but I did some brainstorming over the equipment of choice in the 75, and recalled how good Sylvok Lifestaff was with Squadron Hawk at the very beginning of the Cawblade days. It's mana efficient and gives some added value to the 1/1's the deck plays, in helping thoughtseize/bitterblossom be less of a liability in the games where life matters.
I just wish the positive Jund matchup I've heard so much about actually manifested itself in my experience...I went 0-3 against Jund with GR Tron over the weekend. Every time I played a Wurmcoil, they just pointed three kill spells at it and kept beating with their Goyfs and Treetops, and every time I played Karn, I was so far behind I had to exile a beater and immediately lose Karn to a Bolt. That's assuming you ever even got to resolve those spells through their Thoughtseizes.
Heck, I was getting smashed by Jund so badly, when I looked at the quarterfinals game where Gleicher lost to a Jund deck that mulled to four on the play, I wasn't even surprised.
I saw Tron just bending jund over most of the time. I think with proper sideboarding, games two and three are much better for jund if the tron player isn't equally prepared to fight against what jund wants to do outside of game one.
I day two'd playing UW. The Jund/souls deck was giving regular jund, and most of the decks built to beat jund fits. I think I was playing the correct deck in the tournament, but I had a run of piss poor luck rounds 11-13 that knocked me out of contention. Shuhei was on the Kibler list too, but he had at least 2 Gaddok teeg in his 75.
I do not think the Jund/souls deck is built to stay though, the added reliance on graveyards opens it up to a form of hate that looked to have been under-prepared for this weekend.
Eggs is absolutely not here to stay. It took every round to time, and seemed to have no presence at the top tables past round 3.
G/r Tron though, is back. That deck and Jund were EVERYWHERE. With a fair number of the combo in the room being Eggs, and not a ton of combo in general, Relic of progenitus and the positive jund matchup makes that deck pretty spicy right now.
If that is your argument she is a 5cc anything but lands vindicate as she dies the turn she doesn't use her +1. How is that amazing? Give me a real spell any day.
What? She pseudo-vindicates and dies, just every time? I think you're looking at this entirely the wrong way. She pseudo-vindicates, and if she DOESN'T die on an attack, she's already past a 1 for 1, with the potential to get more and more insane the longer she's allowed to stick around.
How have I not seen this before? This is awesome . . . I assume that I cannot sign up for this month's tournament, as today is the day the decks were due . . .
You are correct, but come the first of October, be ready again! And you can spectate matches for this months event to get a handle of the players and meta.
We have a podcast channel available I believe after we tried to get a modern podcast going.
Also, I volunteered my livestream channel a while ago. I was going to stream them myself and do commentary, but my connection is too slow to actually use it where I'm living at right now. However, if anyone is willing to download the livestream procaster client and has 3 or 4 mbps upload speed, you can stream to my channel...or a new channel. Skype makes it pretty easy to do commentary over the internet. However, as a livestream, it's very possible for the players in the game to view it. This could be too much to make public for a cheating aspect
Yeah, a public stream would allow us to watch it while we play. Not a fantastic idea.

Yeah, they'd planeswalker uniqueness each other. Either way though, you can't ever have two jaces out at the same time.
Between moving and work, I was busy all week. I shot him a message earlier today about tonight.
