I think this looks great. Finally taking that next step in the right direction. I loved Gen 5 so I'm obviously excited about this. Battles look great.
But I don't have a 3DS and I don't plan on buying one. Pokemon on 3DS was inevitable but it's disappointing now that I realize it's finally happening. Handheld consoles/gaming just doesn't impress me anymore; I'm trying to save for college and if anything I'm going to spend my money on one of the new home consoles (probably PS4) if it hits at the end of the year.
So that's what it comes down to: my love for Pokemon can't conquer my total lack of desire to get a 3DS. Diamond and Pearl was the main reason I bought a DS and that system ended up having some of my favorite games ever on it. I haven't seen those type of games on 3DS yet that could possibly convince me there's more than X/Y out there for it -- only maybe two or three games.
A lot of people I know are boycotting the rest of the season which strikes me as an idle threat since most of them aren't near a city to actually go to games anyway. But I think that just goes to show how seriously and emotionally Canadians sports fans tend to take hockey. Many turned to minor leagues to get their fix and got attached so I can see that being a factor at least with Canadian hockey fans.
Lots of people said the same about the NBA or even the NFL but they did just fine last year.
But I think a boycott could have a larger effect on the NHL since it's got a smaller fanbase than the NBA. They'll come back around though.
I'm no hockey fan so maybe I'm coldhearted, but I kind of would have liked to see the lockout go on for a lot longer because I know Bettman is an idiot. I think that would have been the only way to get rid of him and help the league out (or potentially kill it, y'know...). Because let's face it, the NHL is considerably less popular than the three other main sports and I think Bettman has a lot to do with it.
There are several solid coaches available (SVG, Flip Saunders, Nate McMillan and Sloan:tongue: to name a few), but they won't fire him unless OKC goes into a prolonged losing streak. In the long term if they keep losing in the playoffs due in large part to him being badly outcoached, they may make a change. I'm not an OKC fan but it is still frustrating to see a team that good repeatedly undone by a crappy coach.
I agree. I want to see them succeed. I'd much rather see an OKC dynasty than a Miami dynasty. OKC is never going to go into a regular season slump of more than two or three games, so if they're going to fire him it will be due to postseason coaching failures or the fact their bench kind of sucks. I think the only way Brooks could get blamed is if he was visibly outcoached and they were swept in the WCFs or something...
OKC would be so much better off if they had a good coach, Brooks is really bad in every aspect of coaching other than maybe motivation. He keeps playing that awful starting lineup, has terrible plays for the last shot (Basically end up with Durant taking a heavily contested long jumper every time), and heavily limited Ibaka's minutes last year (Though I've heard that was to get him on a more team friendly contract). Really a testament to how talented they are since they are so badly hamstrung by Brooks.
Brooks doesn't seem all that great to me either. But at this point, I really don't know who else they're supposed to get. Phil Jackson? Nah.
Once we got together or even over social media, we'd probably argue uncontrollably about our gameplan or whatever and have no hope of being united. Just too many people. Batman would dispose of us handily. So, Batman.
This is totally untrue. People who go to bars: normal adults that want to get a drink. It depends on the bar, obviously, but normal adults meet other normal adults in bars. It's incredibly common to meet people as a result of that, and not just for a night.

I think it's more important to say that the person a nerdy guy is looking for in a long-term relationship probably doesn't go to bars.
That's probably more true in this case than what I said, but regardless of how big my generalization is, I still don't think a guy would go to a bar and expect to find a dinner date there.
