bad design. the mechanic just speaks herp derp like cascade does in the form of cheap mana instead of card advantage. most competitive players do not like such swingy games when you peel and **** start happening.
o and in legacy it just becomes abusive. there's gonna be full of autism in the meta.
Depends on the deck . Combo Decks that have a lot dead cards tend to like Preordain better then Ponder. I know when I play High Tides Preordain is my favorite can trip. Unless you have a shuffle effect Ponder forces you to keep up to two bad cards. Is it really worth to see one card deeper if you next two draws are bad? More often then not the answer is no, unless ponder found you the game winning card. Then again most combo decks run both cards along with brainstorm.
if you're playing high tide you're playing both of them with brainstorm anyway.
as if every boardgame or cardgame requires investment. You are a very funny person.
well he means getting into the competitive level. so it is somewhat true that if you want to compete at the higher level, you gotta spend alot of resources into it, and resources are not only limited to money but more importantly, time.
Before that happens he says:
Him: Wow, GG
Me: GG
Him: Amazing Top Decks (this is what i mean by "insults disguised as compliments.")
Me: Thanks, but I've drawn 2 straight mountains. I was just waiting for you to tap out.
Him: Yeah, whatever, you're so lucky.
I bit my tongue and just kept on... This happened a month ago though, and it still bothers me. And I've been raged on plenty since then; and can't remember what any of them said.
So... That type of trash talk (the weak kind) - is what gets to me. I can handle a person cursing me out all day... That amuses me....
lol, this happens to me all the time when I play at a real life ptq or online. you will meet one of these people who say this type of stuff when you beat them.
I really think he just didnt think of a 3rd blast.
I mean how do you?
when your opponent has 5 cards in hand playing ramp but hasn't play anything for the last 4 turns? you know he's up to something.
All Finkel had to do for the last crucial turn was either chump the wolf with a spirit, or not to play the lingering soul and leave all the mana up for snapcaster + negate. He still had mana leak in the bin that he could stop the topdeck inferno titan, and the flash in snap would still put enough dmg.
Something I was wondering if anyone had tips on; it seems like my actions are limited because it takes so long for me to click around the map to different areas. When I watch pros, their screen is going crazy switching around the map really quickly. How do I do this?
you use hotkeys to move around the map quickly. if you hotkey your army under numbers, press once will select the army, press twice you will directly move to the army's current location. same with building strcutures.
you can also click on the mini-map to move to a certain location that you want to pay attention to quickly, rather than trying to scroll your mouse on a big map.
If this is true and local stores start hosting in the right environment, this will definitely enhance more playability and provide opportunities for those who have dreams to be on the pt.

ponder is hands down better in legacy.

or you play them in reverse in the late game it will be just as good if not better.

now the problem is just the cost to host one.
