    Welcome to the DCC!
DCC Discussion thread. Take your questions/comments here.

How does this card-making game work? It's simple! Whenever your card receives a vote in the day's poll, you receive 1 point for the month. If your card ends up with the most votes for that day, you will receive 2 additional points for the month. In the event of a tie, each person who tied receives 1 additional point. At the end of each month, the person with the most points on the scoreboard wins that month, then the scoreboard is cleared for the next month. You can play in as many or as few days as you want in any month.

Here are the rules for entering:
    1. Each day you may post any card you want. On the next day all of the posted cards will be put into a poll as long as you voted. If you post more than one card in a DCC thread, only the first card you post will be taken.
    2. Your card will not be added to the next day's poll unless you also vote in the current poll for that day. If you vote for yourself, it will not count and your card will not be put in the next day's poll.
    3. If you wish to post a render, please use the hyperlink option when posting your card and make the card-name the image link. Renders are usually large enough to clog up the list, so submit a text-formed card and (optionally) a link in the name to the render.
    4. This thread is just for your card submission. Take your questions/comments to our discussion thread.
    5. Anyone can post the new thread for the day.

Whenever a player plays a instant or sorcery spell, remove it from the game and put a well counter on Dark Well.
When there are 4 well counters on Dark Well, sacrifice it. If you do copy each card removed from the game by Dark Well for each player. Until end of turn each player may play one copy of each of those cards without paying their mana costs.

Well, peelers are a very individual thing. I personally hate the palm peeler, mostly because of the size of my hands.

The ceramic peelers are probably the best technically, but it's just not a very practical choice. They're super sharp, but they do not wear well just like any ceramic. I would love to have a ceramic knife, though. Just to use for some more delicate butchering of meat.

My personal favorite is the Oxo peeler just because the handle is so comfortable in my hand.

Two interesting news items on this topic:

First: Despite the rediculous gas prices, the Chevy Silverado and the Ford F Series tops the charts for vehicles sold. <link>

Second: Bush gives bailout money to the auto industry in the sum of $17.4 billion ($4 billion to Chrysler, the rest to GM). the only thing I don't like is the administration using the situation as an excuse to tap inot the second half of the bailout money. <link>

Here's picture of my Challah. I figured I'd post it since I brodcast the fact I was making it.

It certainly was not the best job in the world, but I thought it was fine for a first attempt :D.

The only issues I had with the recipie I used was overkneading the dough a little, though that only happened because my dry to wet ratio was wrong. I need to use slightly less flour and it should turn out fine.

I'm just forecasting for the holidays: I will not be online at all tommorrow, breifly on Sunday and maybe Monday, and then I will be off completely until Friday at the earliest, Saturday at the latest.

I'm celebrating Christmas with my wife tommorrow, travelling to family Monday, and then will not get home until Friday or Saturday. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boats, but I want to be clear about why I'm absent.

    Quote from zeustehgreat
First calling my view naive accomplishes nothing for your argument. I never said he didn't do something ****ed up but killing him accomplishes nothing. An eye for eye like I said. He should go to prison which is much more fitting that he has to see what he did was wrong and feel remorse which he may never do but being stuck in a cell is a hell of a punishment.

That's just because we differ on our views for capital punishment. Fair enough, I'm not going to argue against "Eye for an eye makes the world blind" arguments. You have your view, and I have mine.

Also, don't just go TLDR to my post. I said that you did say it was ****ed up stuff. Two girls one cup is ****ed up stuff, what he did was kill his parents in cold blood. That is more than just ****ed up.

Part of being a parent is forgiving your kids and helping them grow if you can't forgive (doesn't mean he has to forgive him right away he is still hurt) your child no matter how ****ed up what they did was then your a ****** parent. People make mistakes and struggle that is part of living but to try and throw them to the wolves. People deserve second chances when they **** up because they are only human. Frankly killing him he gets off easy to because he never has to go through feeling remorse. To reiterate I think what he did was ****ed up but he still deserves forgiveness especially from his father.

This is where you get extremely niave. I'll go sentence by sentence.

    1) A parent's job is not to forgive them blindly for any action they take. some actions are inforgivable. You should feel extreme disappointment in yourself and your son, and you should encourage proper justice for your wife. Forgiveness is not something you dole out like ice cream every Sunday, it is a long hard road that has to be earned. The kid said "I'm sawrry" and that was enough for the dad. That is not helping him grow, that is helping the kids justify his actions.

    2) He isn't stealing money out of the wordrobe. He didn't "make a mistake" he murdred his parents. What kind of world are you living in where that is just an oops?

    3) People deserve second chances when they **** up, yes. This kid murdered his parents in cold blood over a video game. This isn't just "I lost my shirt gambling" or "I drank myself into needed a hospital visit" or even "I am addicted to <insert drug here>". You are minimalizing what he has done, which is simply wrong to do. People **** up, an there is concequences to their actions. Period.

    4) Yet not everyone feels remorse, and not everyone is a normal, mentally healthy 17 year old that didn't murder his mom and attempted to murder his dad. Remorse is an emotion of the mentally stavble whose brain chemistry is operating normally, not a murderer who then wants to not go to jail.

    5) Just because you are related by blood does not mean that that perons is a good person. Some people are just too ****ed up to either help, understasnd, or both. As a parent, do you really think the easiest action is to want justice for your wife? Do you really view that as the easy decision to make? As his parent, his father should force himself to realize the gravity of what his son did, and not forgive him. Forgiveness is the easiest path to take, because then you can simply dismiss everything. While I'm fine with the father being agains the death penalty, I'm not fine with a husband who choses a murder son over his wife that the son slaied in cold blood.

That is why your view is naive. Not that you think the death penalty is wrong, but because you refuse to hold family up to the justice they deserve simply because they are family. You would rather forgive and forget than live with the knowledge that your son that you raised killed your wife directly after an action you took against him. The wife deserves her justice, the son deserves the full force of the law, and the husband desparately needs psychiatric help.

first Seppel, this argument is turning into Lamp vs. Zinda in newb #24. I'm unvoting (not that I need to based off of Annorax's statement at the kill) because I think you are a townie, but you are certainly not acting like one. That being said, I'm not absolving you from suspicion.

You have to realize how much your actions contributed to Soron being killed.

    Quote from Seppel
I understand that advancing the day is not a good thing without finding someone out.

If the search function was working, then I'd go back and find what it was.

But some more recent things I can point out:

    * Your role-fishing of the cat. I believe that scum would really want to know the cat's powers and truly fear the kitty. If you were truly good, you would have implicit trust of Spot.

No, I speculated that the cat may have some investigative role. He ceremoniously scratched me for it. You role fished the entire town.

I'm not role fishing when we know the character and I speculated an additional power.

    * Your blatant ignorance of everyone believing that I'm newb town. My actions have only been attempts to help the town, however misguided.

If by everyone you mean you, Soron, and iLord, then yes that's true. While I no longer think you're scum, you certainly are not being a pro-town as you think.

    * I haven't seen you do anything to try to help the town.

And you contributed to the eventual vig kill of Soron. I tried my best to prevent a situation like that by saying you guys are not helping anything. I notice you have dropped your master plan, but you and Soron's impatience was still an issue.

    Quote from Seppel
I believe it is something like this: Soron known character names. He cannot reveal them (or chooses not to reveal them) until we say them. He does not know who has what character name.

That cannot be true, he revealed Spot with Wuffles simply acting like a cat. While there may be an argument in saying Spot is revealed once he acts like a cat, I think that there would have to be something more solid than that.

I think that he could only speculate on everything. That's why he was careful to always say "I think" before everything and never give a direct answer.

    Quote from Seppel
There are a lot of people who I believe are dirty and other people share my sentiments, so can we please come to some sort of decision? Here, to make it easy, pick from these two:

This is not helping either. Not everyone has contributed, and most that have are lurking just because of the tons of activity and the little real life time that has passed.

Armlx: Incredibly dodgy behavior. Accused Soron of being scum. Hasn't given any explanations for himself.

While I want to know more about the failed mindmeld, I can see how Soron could be considered scummy while roleplaying so dramatically. There's also the possibility that he is a twist on the insane cop.

Ahasver: Fencesitting and pouncing on me for completely unjustified reasons. Believes I'm so discoordinated that I could be an easy lynch.

I was skeptical that Soron was a townie, and I chose to only FOS him. I don't think that he deserved a vote at all, especially when I got on and he was at L-2. Why would I give the scum the easiest hammer ever? Turns out that I was right about Soron not being scum.

I have justified my vote, you have not answered a single question I poised to you. Your defense was "Seriously, I'm a townie and everyone knows it" and "You just don't understand my masterplan" and "You should be completely devoted to flavor like I am". From my vantige point you made yourself look scummy with every response to any accusation.

I honestly think that you're not on a reread, but you absolutely never defended yourself well. I think you are just a townie that thought they could win the game on flavor alone, which is not the case.

As to who to look at? Not Armix (townie who Soron's noobness confused), not Sahmot (townie that saw a justification for a vig kill), not Wrath_of_Dog (a little confused, but a townie none the less), not Skander (I think he's in a similar boat to myself, trying to get the game off of the flavor track and into a more traditional mafia game), and certainly not Wuffles (he's been the most pro-town of anyone in this game, and even he warned you and Soron on several occasions. Mind you he didn't like my actions either).

I'm not sure who is scum right now, but I think there's a high chance that the lurkers are scum in hiding. I would look at the wagon that rose against Soron, though his actions do not leave a lot of information to gain there.

Look, guys. I think we have done all we can do for one 'day.'

Its only day one. I think we should just trust iLord for now. We have to go to another day to get more real info, untill then everything we say will just be speculation,
His analysis seems pretty sound for me. Why not test it?

Soron, I don't even think everyone has posted yet, let alone contribute to Day 1 at all.

As to "We should all toss in our chips to end Day 1 early, and move on to the night", I'm not sure how that is productive at all. While I certainly don't think a no lynch is the proper course of action, there's been a lot of action today, and it has yet to die off.

Think about it from this perspective: This game in realtime day 3 of Day 1 has already reached the length of the entire Foriys Mafia game. There's still a lot to do today, and your eagerness to move on speaks more of your excitement for the game than anything.

Poor kitty. Kitty does not like ahasver.
I wonder if someone has the role of "cat translator"

I wouldn't be surprised there, he's just telling me he feels I'm on the wrong track in those instances.

@iLord: I have a couple of questions about your posts about me.

    A) Wuffles pointed out that I was being too cautious in the armix vs. Soron event, and I assume you feel the same. I went from thinking Soron was town to thinking he could be scum to thinking he's a survivor with a power of some kind... I'm not sure how that's casting undue suspicion on him. If he's neutral I can see that the mindmeld would think he's scum especially if he's RP on the PM. At the same time I never thought a lynch was deserved, and I expressed that several times. I'm not sure what you're attacking me on here...

    B) At first I had no clue what you were talking about, and then I saw that Lamp voted a page before I did. I honestly thought I was the first. That being said I do not like his plan, and I do not like his fishing. While he may just be a few steps ahead of me in his logic, he blatently refuses to address the fishing beyond He then says that he FOSes me after I voted and then explained it as "because he said I was scum". How is that not the definition of OMGUS? While he may have logic beyond that, and the blocking people from solving puzzles comment is a slight attest to that, he's not explaining himself very well IMO. After everything else, his defens is soley "I'm town, why can't you see that?" I'm not sure how pointing that out makes me scummy...

    C) How is saying Soron is a noob townie or noob neutral makes me suspicious of Soron? I think he's neutral, but he's certainly acting pro-town. There's no problem with that.

I guess what I want to know is how Seppel is townie just by saying he is, role-fishing is excusable, and acting in a way that you call confusing. He then bandwagons on your vote with nothing as evidence against me as of yet... Though there is one quote that makes what he's been doing more redeeming:

    Quote from Seppel
Congratulations, you just figured out something I've known for the past few hours.

Are you just drawing your own conclusions, or are you trying to edge the suspicion away from yourself?

I wish I knew something about you. Anything. Even just your character name. Because that would help answer a lot of questions.

To answer your question, yes I had been rereading Soron's posts more carefully, and that was the conclusion I drew. I'm not sure how it edges any attention away from me though.

As to how I play, I simply try to put all of my thoughts on the table.

If I could ask you one thing it would be: What's your ultimate vision of listing every role like that, and how is it not entirely dependant on flavor?

@Soron, why do you trust iLord? If it's another flavor reason, just say so and I'll understand.

I'm off to bed in a minute, but will be back on in the morning.
