Lot of people talked about merfolks (it was also used with Faeries in lorwyn), but before M13 rotation, I could see it in an Mono-G Elf build with the new Garruk andCraterhoof Behemoth maybe.
IMO, a 3-4$ playable mythic is always worth it, because it really can't go lower.
Depends on how much you have to payfor the foil one.
@ Drifting Skies: I'm sure it was discussed a lot before, but even if Deadbridge Chant looks like it's supposed to go in a Reanimator list (because of the word graveyard on the card), it really fits the Jund gameplan better (as it was seen this week-end) as a pseudo Staff of Nin or as a 6 mana Phyrexian Arena. Reanimator can't afford to play a 6CMC spell that does nothing the turn it comes into play.
Here's a couple of suggestions if you're playing at FNM:
- Why so many 2-of and 3-of ? Do you wanna draw them or not ?
4-of will help you get more consistent draws.
- A life/token deck needs 4 thragtusk.
- Why MD negates ?
- Both Garruks are great token makers.
- Why Smiter over Centaur Healer if it's a gainlife deck ?
- Why Snapcaster Mage ? You don't wanna spend 4 mana just to create a 2/2 token.
- Have you considered Call of the Conclave ? Also good against aggro.
- Rancor seems poor in this deck.
- You need some form of removal: Rapid Hybridization or D Spheres in the sideboard looks good.
- Forget about Serra Avatar.
Did you play with the deck at all ? It looks to me that if you did, you would have found out about most of what I said already. At least, you can try some sample hands to see how it plays out.
Good luck !
As a Bant player, I can tell you that if I'm still alive by the time you activate Stensia Bloodhall, it means I'm probably winning.
The Rakdos deck needs to win by turns 4-5 to stand a chance.
That's why this land was rarely played: it's just too slow.
I've been playing Bant since rotation and went 3-0 at the three FNMs I went to.
I have to agree about what has been said before: the deck is just a pile of good cards with no synergy whatsoever, even if T2 Farseek, T3 Jace and T4 Tamiyo is pretty good. With my limited testing, I have yet to find a bad match-up for the deck, so that's why I'll probably still play it for Game Day.
@5480: I don't understand why you say Jund is a bad match up. Your late-game is way better than Jund's, and even though a well-timed Rakdos' Return can be damaging, Sphinx's Revelation can get you back in the game easy. I find their best card against you to be Kessig Wolf Run, a problem which can be solved with sideboarded Ghost Quarter. Every other card they play aren't a real problem. Hellkite has started showing up in new versions and it's good, but even then, Azorius Charm, Tamiyo, Detention Spheres, Terminus and Supreme Verdict can get rid of it.
@DXI-Edge: I play one Cyclonic Rift, and it's been very good for me so far. Maindeck, it's a very good answer to an annoying Rancor, it's versatile, and it's quite easy to overload:it got me a game against a board of Blood Artists, and it's the only card that could do it.
For the price of a box, you can buy 2 angels and 3 wurms on SCG.
RTR has a lot of value, so if you know people to trade with, opening a box will probably get you enough playable cards so that you can trade for at least these 2 angels and 3 wurms.
Hi,
I'm currently in the process of building a Type 2 Gauntlet with Return to Ravnica cards, so I'm looking for a website that would let me create decks using these new cards, and print them out so I can edit them while playtesting. Does such website exists ?
Thanks for your input !

It would be my #1 choice for RTR price speculation right now as well.
I've also seen Decays at 4-5$, pretty cheap for a card played in Modern and Legacy too.

It blocks her!
They are rotating out.
Which new artifacts seems good enough so that you need to bring cards to fight them ? I don't see any.
I don't think artifacts will be a threat in the new format.
Thanks for your advice EX ! Yeah I'm using sharpies for the proxies, but need some paper decklists to keep track of the decks.
