So I had a few quick questions. I noticed mimic vat is in a alot of decks, how good is it really And is there any match up where it's not good? What about something like throne of geth? Is it too all in or just not good enough? I also noticed
A lot of decks only have a few creatures, this is the best route to go now?
This deck sure came a long way from when I tried it and looks way better. No longer a deck that just dies to counter spells. When I get a list together I'll be sure to post it. Thanks everyone.

i want to see more land, 23 dont seem like enough, i would remove Molten-Tail Masticore and the wolfs for 1 land, 1 vengvine, 1 sword of w/e, 1 land.

So, we can not just sit around while the last troll fades away can we?

What I mean is that Thrun has started off at a high price for a rare, yet he has no deck home and if infect becomes big then he wont be nearly as good. That leads us too, will he have an impact on standard?

Also where would he fit best?
My first impressions was G/W equipment style of deck. sword of vengeance + Thrun, the last troll seems almost unstoppable if u have mana open. What do you peoples think?

^That was my biggest issue with playsets of masticore and why i havent bought any. My four slot should be safe to drop t3; not safe to drop t6-7.

I kind of like this. although i prefer more titan over wurmcoil with collars in the deck, but ok. Alot of ramp with no draw or deck fixing is a worry for me though. i'll playtest this with Lord of Shatterskull in that slot. More ramp is always a plus with levelers.

Also this deck folds to 3 counters and a Gideon. And there's nothing in the sb to remedy that. =[ I wonder what it faced and how the matches went.

i took this deck and took out the myr's... than tested and instantly put them back in... lol. so i kept them all the mana accell and i wanted the dragonlord in this deck. So i removed the goblin guide since iam big red and not fast beat down red with these little/huge guys and it works really well for me. Contagion Clasp isnt doing it for me either. overall the deck is good.

Anyone use d force yet? I've been testing with it. At my shop I don't lose. My friends won't even play me with it anymore. :[ They get mad at my removal which is only 3 d force 4 bolts and 3 chain reaction. Somehow I manage to beat all sorts of people. Probably just a matter of skill though or play mistakes. Idk. If anyone is interested in a D force list let me know cause Idk if it really belongs here in big red. tho it is the biggest. Also if you read the flavor on D force and apply that to the reactions of people after you win it's hilarious.

while i think it can work, it wouldnt do anything in my meta. So many mana leaks and people who once see what your doing, player around it like they should. Lack of counter in the meta i can see this being really good though.

So no one is talking about this deck atm even though it placed first in a state? I might add that there was only 1 big red list played and it got first.

    mimic vat

So If i have a vat down and it is my opponents turn. He goes to his end step, is it possible at any time during that end step to make a creature and it to live until MY end step? I ask this because of the vat says at the beginning of the end step and i think i can do it after the beginning of the step. Can anyone confirm me right or wrong please? thanks a bunch guys.

    1. Jace, the Mind Sculptor- You know why.
    2. Elspeth- It gains loyalty by allowing you to chump block or letting you finish the game.
    3. Gideon- Baneslayer Removal, Multiple turn Fog effect, or a 6/6 who prevents damage for just 5 mana.
    6. Jace B- He is only so high because JTMS is in the format. He's a reasonably good walker, but because he can cantrip, cause your opponent to turn his JTMS into a removal card, and stop them from Brainstorming (even on the draw!), it seems pretty good.
    4. Ajani V- If you protect this guy, you win. And he does a nice job in protecting himself. The Lightning Helix is the cherry on top.
    5. Garruk- Ramp, Creatures, or Overrun. Probably the most appropriatly powered 'walker.
    7. Sarkhan the Mad- Used in Jund, which I hear is quite popular.
    9. Tezzeret- I wish Esper would have been better. Still, he had his uses.
    10. Nicol Bolas- Relevant, if playing four colors
    8. Chandra- Surprisingly good for killing Titans, which is a major problem for red
    15. Nissa Revane- It did spawn a surprisingly nice archetype
    11. Ajani Goldmane- Sometimes used as a one or two of in White Weenie when Zen was released
    13. Sarkhan Vol- Not as bad as he gets credit for. He pops on turn 3 or can be used as a double Threaten.
    12. Liliana- Used to find that singleton combo piece?
    14. Sorin- I guess I would be happy to have a resolved Sorin.
    16. Chandra Abalze- Useless. I tried to build a deck that used her for days and it just won't work.

There. That's every planeswalker in an order that I believe that most people would find pretty agreeable.

fixed for my opinion but i like the idea of listing them all. its pretty close to the same but i find nissa is one of the worst walkers (starting at 2 breaks her plus only good in one deck) and jace b is not that good without support and ajani v is not getting enough credit in this thread. imo he should either be 3 or 4.

Yeah i agree that a lot of decks get formed tested and dont work. Than a new set comes out and the 1 card that makes the whole deck works comes with it but people forget about the deck. Than on top of that there are so many cards to make decks from its easier to have balance

ok so i know its not the 100% same style but i made a few changes and here is what i came up with.

it has less inferno titans but double dragon should more than make up for that. iam a little iffy with garruk and maybe Siege-Gang Commander might be a better option

Watch this post. I'm still tweaking the list but I'll post my current one tonight.

cool. i took a list down to fnm and went 2-2.

Problems iam having is the mana base, i totally forgot about savage lands so i'll test out some of them. Also I found that i am not having enough mana even though iam using Sylvan Ranger and 4 grim discovery. Thinking about testing out cobras maybe but iam a little iffy on that. I might just have to take out the grave titans or just use 1 even though they are so gd good. Not if g/b is better than jund colors either.

Meh. 30 bucks for the best beat stick in standard isn't too bad.

not the best card in standard anymore. its sad that 30 bucks is not longer expensive, we are slowly turning into yu-gi-oh.

BSA getting targeted by removal is an old argument that people should stop bring it. It applies to any creature that has no resistant to removal. Its the reason why good creatures with shroud are so good. that being said its one of the best "removal me or lose" cards out there and that's why its good. That should be obvious though.
