The thing I like about Yidris is your cantrips now also grab your 0 cost mana rocks. Only downside would be hitting pact if you still have it in your list. Otherwise you're hitting Mox Opal, Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox, or Mana Crypt off a High Tide or a Dark Ritual. It seems like it would really fuel you going off. I haven't tested it at all but I'm willing to adjust my mana base a little and swap Jeleva out for a little while just to see how it fits.
The downside to getting rid of Jeleva is you lose the chance to just eat your opponents deck with her ETB. This may end up being the reason to keep her. Having the backup backup contingency plan if someone strips your deck of wincons is potentially better than random cascades.
I do agree that green really does add nothing to the deck though. The list is already so tight there's really no room for anything green has to offer.

I'm not sure that green adds a whole lot to the deck but this guy might be an option as a general. My paper meta isn't extremely competitive so this might be a more fun option for me.
Best tech for beating red is getting very good at dice rolling and coin flipping. Next best thing is playing white or having demon claws in the board. Tendrils screws with red pretty good as well. It's getting to the turn 4 on the draw which can be a little hard.
I literally just ordered a whole mess of cards to fill out my EDH deck and now I'm gonna have to rebuild it. Frustration station. I shall mourn the loss of the infinite mana/life engine that was fastbond crucible and zuran orb.
So, concerning the Ban List update ... are we just continuing as normal, and the next tourney will be with updated rules?
My general got banned XD!!! For good reason, obviously, but still.
Also, Fastbond and Gifts Ungiven got banned.
Where is the info for this posted? I can't seem to find it.
I'm going to remain politely skeptical for now. I don't think I'll believe it till I see one in a pack but that's just me. If the bolt is back G/R beats and RDW will be pretty darn fast come m10. Hopefully it is at common so I can have a nutty sealed pool(plus it would be $5+ if it's uncommon).
I let people take stuff back all the time as long as it isn't reversing the game state too far. For the most part I'll let them set themselves up and if they make a huge mistake that would destroy them I'll set up to the point of no return then when they say yes to something like "Damage on the stack?" I'll reverse it back to where they made the mistake and explain to them what they should have done and let them change it.
Granted if I'm playing someone I know isn't that new and/or know him from PTQs etc I wont speak much except to move to different phases and wont let them take it back because I expect them to play at the same level I am or better and I never ever try to take anything back because that's how you learn.
Maybe they'll give us new art for the shock lands.. one can hope.
You don't like the current art? Personally I thought most of them were quite lovely(who doesn't love the art for Hallowed Fountain?). Anyways, I truly hope they reprint the shocks. It should make standard much more interesting.
Also a great big plus to them for going black border. I was worried 11th was gonna go back to white border, which most agree is aesthetically unpleasing.
I also wish they wouldn't apologize for bitterblossom. I made a serious killing picking up a preorder of a playset for $20 and busting em when they were $40 a pop. The only real thing they should do with conflux is push new archetypes not try to hose old ones.
All in all a great set of announcements and hints all rolled into one.
Anyone pick up on what Aaron said here? The most expensive planeswalker they've made. I'm betting that it will cost at least 6 maybe all colored mana or 7.
Mana Intensive Control: 25+
Control: 24
Midrange/Slower Aggro: 23
Fast aggro: 22
Some stuff does fall outside of that (aka Elf Ball) but it's just the general guideline I start with on any deck. You will still need to goldfish it to see how well it draws and runs. At least it's a starting point.
As for color commitment I usually just count all the colors up(Cryptic Command = 3 blue) and it gives me a better idea of my where I need what. You also have to consider when you are going to need what color during the game as others have said.
Wrath of God, Cruel Ultimatum, Ponder, Firespout, and Thoughtseize would all like to have a word with you.
I'm pretty sure all of those have seen limited play (at least whenever someone busted them). [Haha! See what I did there? OK maybe that was just a bad joke]

Makes me giggle.
Back to the drawing board I go.
