U/B Aggro that isn't faeries? Fish or Rogues will do. Not very well, but they will do.
Green/?: I agree that U/G is unique and your area may not be ready for it, but Green/White isn't as mana intensive right now because of the power G/W in shadowmoor. It also gives you access to cheap white cards and the big green hitters and TONS of life gain. (Yea, Yea, I know... life gain doesn't win games, but it can give you more time to win!)

Where can I download a good one page printable set checklists for MTG?
I can make my own on XL (and still might), but I saw some folks that had official WOTC/MTG checklist and I thought they were pretty nice.
Any place to find good, high quality, printable set checklists online?
Thank you.
I know "Women" can be a rarity among MTG players (I'm married, so I don't have to worry about that), but when you do get one, you gotta regulate your time better.
Make 1 night a week her's and her's only. Do stuff together the other nights, but make sure she knows that 1 night of a week, you will do nothing but her. THEN, give her one night a week without you so that she can do whatever the heck she wants (barring hooking up with other guys). Make sure that is on a MTG tourney night. Then you go do whatever the heck you want!
This works and you keep your sanity.
ALL OF THAT being said, if the $3 mattered, give the credit of winning to the guy you beat in return for $3. If the WIN mattered, tell the store owner to give the guy your $3 and take credit for the win. As long as the guy agrees, the store owner wont try to protect his regular. That is his bread and butter!
Just make sure you have this talk with the guy you beat BEFORE you report the win.
IMHO, you shouldn't get both because #1, you aren't staying until they announce T8. #2, you aren't staying until they hand out prizes and you are screwing up the tourney. Someone will have a bi every round and it may screw someone else near the top, etc...
I hope that makes you feel better. Someone had to get all the bad shuffles. It is like you are "taking one" for the global MTGO community.
On behalf of all of us: thank you.
JK
I started playing again at the start of the summer, but haven't had time to make it into the card shop, so I thought I would play online. But then, I had a nasty thought. Is MTGO III worth it?
Can you get a full set of cards on MTGO III for a reasonable amount of money? Can you play MTGO III on a tight budget? And is it worth it to NOT be able to play those cards at your local store or have to buy them again?
Given all the bugs, hang ups, late releases, server problems, etc... Is it better to make the time and play at the store? or let the time fit MY schedule and play it online?
N is the number you are looking for, Z is the number of cards you are drawing, X is the number of a particular cards in the deck, Y is the total number of cards in the deck. SO:
=Hypgeomdist(0,7,4,60) = 60.05% = the chance of NOT (n=0) drawing a particular card (4 copies) in turn 1 (7 cards drawn) of the entire deck (60). SO, the chance of drawing one or more of the specific card is 39.95%.
On Turn 2 the chance of drawing the card in the 8 cards you have drawn so far = 1- 55.52% = 54.48%
See the attached file for both explanations. The first tab is the chance of drawing 1+ card of four and another 1+ card of 4
The second tab is a chance of drawing 1 card of 4 and another card of 8 (4 copies of 2 cards that do the same thing).
After putting it together, I found some other websites online that talk about this and one from a LONG time ago that uses this formula for Magic the Gathering of all things!
It usually isn't a big deal until one of the DND gamers starts arguing about a little known rule or something. Then you generally hear a few snickers from the MTGers, but I can't ever tell if that is because they think it is stupid, or if they were also laughing that the other guy didn't know about this little known rule!
It doesn't bother me any. I've played both, but I enjoy the card games more right now.
I wasn't thinking of any card in particular, but I don't think this combo works like I stated because Morsalhoarder had to be tapped and then untapped with each -1/-1 added. So, you would actually need a THIRD card in order to make it work that would make you TAP MorsalHoarder (like presence of Gond or something) so that you can Tap and Untap to get the MANA.
What if it was a colorless scarecrow. Then it would just be 100 right?
If it cost 100 mana, it'd have to be
This could easily play in a big mana deck & it fits into EVE's enemy colors theme because of Morselhoarder and Sinking Feeling giving a player infinite mana on turn 7. With other Mana Excel, it is possible to play this 100 costing card on turn 4 or less!!
T1: +LandElf/Mana Creature or Bird
T2: +LandElf/Mana Creature or Bird, +LandElf/Mana Creature or Bird
T3: +Morselhoarder
T4: Sinking Feeling on Morselhoarder + 100 Costing Card
2 card combo to play an insane 100 cost card on turn 4? Not bad.
(Except you need near perfect Mana Excel Draws!)
Edit: Dramatic Entrance makes this playable on turn 5 w/o mana excel (if it is a 100G)
This card is WAY GOOD for big creature Mono black
Demigod (+5/+5 when dies), Oona Queen (+3/+3), Add Beseech the Queen (instant +3/+3 to this guy), Ashenmor Gouger (+3/+3), The B/r & B/u Lieges..., or toss in a Memory Plunder for a +4/+4 instant!
Build a Mono Black Big Creature, Big Mana deck and don't stick anything in it with less than BB.
I can't wait for this card. I'm going to eat me some Goyf!
(Edit: I understand that Goyf is far less expensive, but this card CAN get much bigger, much faster depending on how you build around it.)
The ROX part.
I don't think anyone was ever claiming to be 100% accurate in their evaluations of possible future values of possible future cards. I'm pretty sure everyone was just trying to get an "idea". And for that, you can use the 1/8 figures (that lead to 1/120) that Maro uses and Elaine Chase used repeatedly.
ANYWAY, back on topic...
At 9:07 I had the image clipped and ready. I headed to MTG Salvation to post what I found... only to find 3 other "Bloom Tender" postings in the various [EVE] related post.
Amazing. That is why you can rely on MTG Salvation for the latest Spoiler news!
Anyway, about Bloom Tender: It is a great card for the 5 color mana that everyone is trying to build. Reaper King?? The Burt Toast and Quick and Toast decks might use it.
It's no good in mono :symg:, it is ok in or or or :symwg:, it is GREAT when you move to THREE color combos or 2+ color decks that use tons of hybrids. This opens up a TON of options for enemy color combos. I think it really works well with EVE & SHM.
This is the type of card that seems.... Mythic or would it be?
It does look "fire whipy", but would they reprint another one so soon?
I'd love more play with the "untap" abilities, but there would need to be a mana cost or something. If not, any 1 creature + Power of Fire & New Untap Fire Whip = Infinite damage. Would they make it that easy? I don't think so.
I agree with The Puppet Master: nightmare lash seems more likely and it is dark. Nightmare Lash with some of the new mechanics?
