I'm not a terrible player. I should mention that I do get a little bored playing control. By bored I mean at some point I find it hard to stay focused and let spells I should not resolve go through. I also really dig the deck Josh Utter-Leyton played.
So, I'm going to a Modern Tournament in two weeks and have no idea what the meta will look like, it's kind of a hole in the wall shop, and the prize is a FTV:20. What would the best deck be to take to this event? Keep in mind that no card in the format is out of my reach, a good friend of mine has pretty much everything to lend me. We have a thread for this already.
So, apparently I cannot use the gatherer correctly. Would someone be so kind as to link me to a list of all black creature cards that come into play with counters on them. Be it +1/+1 or -1/-1, it's for an edge deck. Thank you!!!!!
One thing I always try and do, is shuffle the card I draw into my hand, even if it's a land and I intend on playing it. I always want my opponent to think that I drew something with more substance than a land. Now I'm not telling you to do the whole flipping your cards around in your hand like a maniac, but just shuffle a newly drawn card in.
I stay out of most people's business, because it's not hard for someone to look down at their smart phone and check a price on SCG, or even ask someone else to do it for them. If they are too lazy or dont care then that's their problem.
Buuuuuuuuuut, if I notice someone trying to take advantage of a younger or newer player then I'll step in and say something. It's never good for the shop or "meta" if you have the sharks taking all the good cards from the newer players, because then they will have no chance to grow.
I have been testing Esperblade on Workstation for a little while now and I just feel like it does a whole lot of nothing some times. I really like the Wasteland power that U/W stonebalde and maverick pack. I'm not the best Maverick player in the world but it looks like it's so much fun to play. I piolet Death and Taxes like a pro, so that's why I'm sticking with decks based around stoneforge stuffs. As for the Birmingham meta game, I play in pretty much every single legacy event we have and know a lot of the players, but since this is the first really big event I have no idea what the metagame is going to look like.
Well, I'm playing in the SCG Legacy event in Birmingham Alabama next month, but the problem is that I have no idea what I want to play. I'm thinking about one of two decks. Esper Blade, U/W Stone Blade, or gw Maverick. What do you guys think?
Wow, I'm pretty surprised that you won. That list seems sketchy, but I guess it works. You just better be glad I wasn't there to smash you, Mangara+Karakas FTW.
I'm just kidding, good job man. You better come to legion some time soon and get beat up on.
Lightning Bolt 3 Damage takes care of pretty much every Human ever Ancestral Recall Drawing cards makes you smarter. I like being smart Mind Slaver Really? Do I need to explain?
So, what do you think? I cut green because I think it's too clunky. I thought about keeping a Bayou in the main so that you can run Deed in the board, but that might be a little too "cute." So what do you guys think? I kind of want to find a replacement for Demise.
Ben, I think it's really cool that you hang out here in the forums and that you just went out of your way to help this guy out. It makes me feel better about buying singles from SCG. Some times I feel that some cards are a little over priced, but no other store has as many cards as you do, so that makes it worth it I think.
Nightmare from 7th edition. The art was sick. I knew nothing at all about the game, and the card was 5 dollars in the showcase and I bought it, having no idea at all how to play the game.
Hey, what's up. I just finished the million hour long download of MTGO, well I get it installed and then I get a random error message saying that the program didnt pass the "Windows Logo Test" and when I try and launch MTGO I get another error message that causes it to fail to execute. I've looked around on the WOTC site and I just end up following link after link after link for nothing at all.
Daedae, when are you going to realize that this deck sucks and I'm going to be playing modern d&t and teachings and beat you a billion times. Hahaha, just trollin' ya bro. What about Trying to find room for chromatic star and sphere. Cantrips that fix mana are cool.
We have a thread for this already.
