N controls a tapped Knight of the Reliquary with 2 land cards in their graveyard (i.e. KotR is a 4/4). A casts Mob Rule choosing the first mode and has 0 land cards in their graveyard.
does Knight of the Reliquary untap and does it gain haste?

Judge! My opponent shuffled my hand into my library on accident.

Additional information: this WAS an accident. It is at comp. REL. No player has a any credible information about what the cards were.
Penalty/fix? (after slapping them that is)

Do we have a solid plan against goblins as a Mono blue merfolk deck?

I realize dismember helps but submerge does nothing unless they are bad and get their taiga first. And the Jitte plan feels unreliable and slow.
Can we play Chill? or does Aether vial just beat on us too much?

Has anyone ever tried Whirlpool Warrior against landstill decks? I realize that we are already well matched against these decks but if a lot of them appear in ones region has anyone thought about it?
(Yes, you had to look at the card) Grin

So last weekend I played at my local store:

    R1: UW Visions
This guy isn't the best player in the world and has never played with force or brainstorm before.
    I crush both games

    R2: Zoo
This guys is also in-experienced but is playing a much more forgiving deck than UW. G1 I keep a sketch hand on the play: Island, Aether Vial, Rejeery, Rejeery, Jitte, Daze, Silvergill adept. draw on turn 2.... WASTELAND!
I get lucky draws and win off the back of double rejeery and a coralhelm commander
G2: Keeps 7: Island, Mutavault, wasteland, dismember, submerge, submerge, silvergill adept.
He misses out on white because i waste it and he never gets a chance to land hate Grin

    R3: ID
    R4: ID

Sad but yes we had a top 8 in a 12 man tournament... Its was for 4 mox diamonds!

    Top 8:
    R5: BUG Still
G1: he resolves 3 deeds against me I see one force in about 25 cards Frown
G2: I bait out a counter spell and force him to tap out and land B2B and win when my lone rejeery chooses to ignore my aether vial as to tap out his lands Grin
G3: I vial in a Kira and beat down for about 4 turns before he decides its not worth being afraid of my B2B. I land B2B and win

R6: UW This time a reasonably good player
G1: I get crushed by double mystic on turn 4 Frown
G2: I do my own crushing with 5 lords! two of which eat swords to plowshares but its still more than enough
G3: I keep a sketch hand: Aether Vial, Wasteland, island, Island, Lord of atlantis, lord of atlantis, lord of atlantis. I feel my heart pick up when I draw wasteland
triple lord gets there I cast no counterspells in G3 and I dont see any Kira or b2b the entire match.

    R6: Maverick (Finals)
G1&2 are irrelevant as we both mull to 5 and lose in (him in the first me in the second)
G3: I am off to a good start with Vial and a silvergill adept on the beatdown with Rejeery, and misstep in hand. He lands a warmonk and jitte which makes me skeptical. The critical turn comes when he attacks with his jitte'd(2 counters) warmonk (he has a goyf on d) and doesn't pump it while i have 5 cards in hand He is on 1 and i am on 13. I need to top deck a merfolk, a dismember, or sumberge to remove the goyf as a blocker and kill him.
    Miss and I lose
Fun tournament with a disappointing finish.

    Conclusion:
I was lucky not to face the 2 Enchantress players there
    B2B is so good!
Kira is MVP against anything with the gall to play STP or PTE
Submerge is amazing when you have it in your hand
Llawan never saw the light of play
Spell Pierce always felt underwhelming (I like to tap out)

    +1 B2B -1 Spell Pierce
Considering moving Jitte to the side for Phantasmal Image thoughts?

    Hey,
I am just after some SB advise for my current build.

My current Meta contains (and yes it is a small group): about 20% merfolk, 10% Zoo, 10% BUG Still, 10% Dredge, 20% Rogue Builds I can't remember, 10% UW, 20% Maverick: There was also a couple of elf decks an enchantress deck, a Hivemind deck and a Lands.dec

Any advise would be much appreciated Thanks
    My Current SB

I am thinking Mind Harness might be better in some situations because of how beating it is on Maverick... What do you guys think?

Necrotic Ooze + Kiki-jiki, mirror breaker = infi tapped oozes (you can do it in your opponents end step if you want to keep them for a turn.

Pawn of ulamog/Sek'Kuar deathkeeper/Golgari germination + Phyrexian Altar + Nether Traitor = infinite mana

Animar Soul of elements (with 5+ counters) + Palinchron = infinite mana

Palinchron + Phantasmal Image = infinite mana

Eternal Witness + Phyrexian Altar + Living Death + 4 other creatures = infinite etb/ltb triggers

If you want to keep it mono red CrawlSpace is quite cool and stops you getting tiken crushed.
and Gravity sphere is quite funny to or was that Chaosphere? Actually both seem good for you just don't play one with the other still in play!

entomb is always a nice option. not as strong as intuition or buried alive in EDH but 1 mana lets u have a T2 exhume or similar

  • posted a message on Imprint + Phasing
702.23d The phasing event doesn’t actually cause a permanent to change zones or control, even though it’s treated as though it’s not on the battlefield and not under its controller’s control while it’s phased out. Zone-change triggers don’t trigger when a permanent phases in or out. Counters remain on a permanent while it’s phased out. Effects that check a phased-in permanent’s history won’t treat the phasing event as having caused the permanent to leave or enter the battlefield or its controller’s control.

This is dealing with linked abilities and phasing. Therefore phasing won't cause a card with imprint "forget" what it was imprinting.

  • posted a message on 2 FNM rules questions (kind of opinion based)
    Quote from KPDaly16
I just started judging FNM's, and I had a couple strange situations come up.

    1. In one match, both players went to time on game 1, with a good 30-40 cards still left in their library. Obviously I was not able to watch the entire match to see how this happen, but I did watch the 5 additional turns and noted that they were both playing incredibly slow. In fact, the extra turns took 15 minutes. Neither player was intentionally stalling; they were both just new players who didn't really know what even their own cards did (and one of them was playing a lot of life gain). My question is: Is there anything I can do in this situation to speed things up? They were keeping 30 other players waiting for 20 minutes.

    2. We don't use decklists at our FNM, which I assume is pretty standard. In a game last night, I got called over. Apparently a player had forgotten to un-sideboard after his last match. He was very sportsmanlike and accepted a penealty for it. But was there really any infraction there? The normal penalty associated with this would be for Deck/Decklist Mismatch, but since there was no decklist, it is considered to be the contents of the deck, which would mean nothing was done wrong here, correct?

    1. A good way to calculate slow play is to count to 30 in your head... if the game state has not changed when you get to 30 ask the active player to play faster or take and action (using your stern but polite judge voice :D). Then count to 10 and if nothing has happened give that player a firm warning (a recorded penalty) and make sure both players are aware of what it was for.

    2. Same as above (refer to post 2)

    question about venser, shaper sevant-

can you use it on a storm card?

rules say this.. "A copy of a spell that is returned will go to the hand then cease to exist. [Future Sight FAQ 2007/05/01]".

if you venser tendrils of agony, will all copies go back? i don't think so, but i'm not sure???

No. Because when u play tendrils the storm trigger will go onto the stack then while either the storm trigger is on the stack or after it resolves you bounce tendrils all the tendrils copies will still be there
