@Duke: Um... Really, mind shatter is better than scepter??? I'm pretty sure a turn 2 scepter is better than a mind shatter in general, any day.

@jioazy: Ajani makes scourglass 1 turn slower... Lightning helix is barely ever relevant... and resounding thunder is better than scourglass because it kills ajani early... Or if you get far enough, it can win the game, if you want to play incinerate, thats fine I suppose.

I don't see how scourglass isn't subpar in its own right either... Also, I didn't argue that cruel ultimatum was bad, and I hate it when people compare good cards to bad ones...

Cruel ultimatum doesn't wrath the board and stop them from winning or stop you from being in a bad position so early in the game....

I've stated why I don't like scourglass... I would like to stop talking about it. Cause this is getting us nowhere, which is why I never argue... People have their own likening's to curtain cards.

really?? u start ur response with "um" like it was a dumb observation? good to see ur open to others opinions. scepter eats resources every turn and u must focus ur strategy around it. yes if ur opponents are out of cards scepter means u win, but early on it was awful. dont um me u cocky achieved nothing prick

Went 4-0 tonight with this list..

    Detailed Report..

    Round 1 (W/R Kithkin)
Game 1: We each play out early creatures but he draws 3 Path to Exile and I run out of gas against his horde + Anthem
Game 2: (Sideboard: -3 Reveillark, -2 Mind Stone, -4 Spec Proc, +3 Wrath of God, +3 Volcanic Fallout, +3 Stillmoon Cavalier) I get turn one FoD and keep on the pressure with a Liege under a Heights. He gets stuck on three plains and I get Ajani to keep one tapped. He draws all 4 of his sideboarded Relic of Progenitus (I took out the Larks, hah.)
Game 3: He gets quick beats with FoD, KoM, Stalwart, Multavault and Anthem. I'm forced to hide a Wrath under a Heights and save my blockers to swing in and play it. He still has a 3/3 Mutavault and then plays a Paladin En-Vec with me at 2 life. I draw and play Ranger of Eos getting two figures and pass turn with Path mana up. He swings in, I block vault with Ranger and Path his Paladin. He topdecks lands while I play out Figure + Siege-Gang and win in two turns.
    2-1(1-0)

    Round 2 (Mirror):
I wish I could give some insight to how to play these games, but my opponent (who is a really good player) got mana screwed early in both games and was unable to come back from good starts from me both times.
    2-0(2-0)

    Round 3 (Dark Bant)
Game 1: He inversions my early FoD and gets a Doran out early but a Spectral Proc from me turns on Heights to play an Ajani that keeps him tapped down. I stall on 4 lands with double Lark and Liege in hand but continue to chump and tap down until I get Liege out. I play Lark and he misplays by swinging his Rhox War Monk into my 4/4 Lark (pumped by Liege) and I get back FoD. A second Lark and an SCG later and I overpower him.
Game 2: (Sideboard: +3 Wrath of God, +3 Stillmoon Cavalier, -3 Mind Stone, -3 Spectral Proc) He plays turn 2 Sculler grabbing my only early play, a KoM. I start on the back foot after he plays turn 3 War Monk, turn 4 Rafiq. I take 8 before playing a Spectral Proc to buy some time. He plays a Hierarch an swings for 12 lifelink. I topdeck Ajani and kill Rafiq with blockers to keep Ajani up. The score is 43-10 and I stabilize with SCG, Reveillark, and Balefire Liege on consecutive turns. I also flipped up a Stillmoon from under a Heights. This is the first time in 4 tourneys I've gotten a Stillmoon into play and he's as busted as I hoped he'd be.
    2-0(3-0)

    Round 4 (Blightning Aggro)
At this point I'm the only 3-0 left and just happen to get paired down against a good matchup.
Game 1: I play KoM on turns 2, 3 and 4, and everytime they're met with a burn spell before netting me any life. He swings in a couple turns with a manland before I get a Figure up to 4/4. He has a Javelin for that, but he's wasted most of his burn on my creatures and never draws his unearth creatures and a Reveillark from me ends up being too much for him.
Game 2: (Sideboard: +3 Celestial Purge, +3 Burrenton Forge-Tender, -3 Mind Stone, -3 Spectral Proc) He burns and swings me down to 5 with no cards left in hand. I get a Forge-Tender on board and an Ajani that gains me some life, but I know he has Banefire in his deck so I'm not safe. Over the next few turns I get an SCG and a Figure out, saccing Tender to prevent Javelin to my face in the meantime. SCG and FoD go the distance before he draws a Banefire.
    2-0(4-0)

I'm still unsure about Mind Stone. I don't m ind the accel and card filtering in game one but I'm not convinced it's needed, and it's always the first thing I side out, once I know what's good in the matchup.

zomg dobbs!!! ive seen u post on here b4 and it never dawned on me that it was u. good to see u playing T2 again and cleaning house up at george's.

Oh yea, cause you got what it takes to be a pro?, face it, pros have a special something in their game plan, when they get to a finals is not all luck, the skill they have is like 90%, when alas, poor us, its more of a 60% skill 40% luck. (plus deckbuilding etc).

oh, and if you think im not good, that may be so, but by you arguments before in this thread and BW I dont see you as a better option, alas, this is not a who has a bigger ***** discussion so lets leave it at that. Cool story bro.

judging by lsv's recent run i would have to say luck has much less of a part of the game then previously thought. lets change from a bigger ***** discussion, and turn it into a u have no idea what u r talking about discussion and based ur percentages on nothing. luck is not a factor that i depend on. i depend on reading my opponent and not playing flashy, just play correctly. also, what in my arguments has been wrong. ur just behind the meta game. at the moment i posted anything on the bw forums it was correct. 5cc was terribad for the last month or so pre-conflux. conflux reinvigorated this deck (which im very excited about, i missed playing blue). please dont refer to me as ur bro. u just talk out of ur ass, and present it as fact. i think u r what they call a scrub... idk. btw mod... i know im getting a flame warning, but i will still love u anyway.

That may be true, but the thing all you you n**f**s dont realize, is that he is a pro player he could pilot a donkey and show up with a deck full of mountains and 4 banefires and he could win with it.

If a normal player (LIKE MOST OF US) pilots that deck we would fail misserably. Thus you must realize that the decisions he made for his main deck WORKED for him, and ONLY for him, you are not a pro player.

r u aware that pro players dont have more options with a given card than we do or any "magic"al powers. most decisions that need to be made are obvious, and most the time getting the "correct" build with the nutsy tech is the real challenge. u obviously dont understand magic, and are probably terrible at the game. He didnt make any decisions that were that impressive, he got a little luck, has a lot of skill, and just happened to get there. period.
