redirect all non-combat damage that would be dealt this turn to you or a creature you control to any number of target creatures and/or players.
no is is seriously debating BHR over sludge? ,./wrists
seriously, this should be non debatable. of course when new cards come out, everyone wants to swap cards in integrate 'new material'... this is equivalent of taking out Wrath of God for Day of Judgment...
it might be about the same thing, but its just not.
agreed.
most of my games i've won i give credit to a well-placed sludge.
forcing opponents to dump their hand cripples them almost completely in most cases, wheither its control, jund or the mirror match. there is no comparison. period.

its control. you dont DoJ all of your own creatures, you hold back your dudes when you need to. with the intense jace/esper charm CA i get, i can afford to kill my own dude here and there.
i dont have any WWK cards yet... i have smother cause they are the original onslaught version.
however, i will definitely be putting a playset of mr. turtles in
This is what i don't understand, you diss Mind Sludge based on experience vs decks you shouldn't be using it against. OFC you side it out vs Eldrazi Green, Mind Sludge wins you the game vs decks where sludge mathers.
mind sludge wins in mirror match, against midrange/control decks.
mind sludge is sided out vs. eldrazi, RDW, bushwhacker, anything that dumps the hand fast.
i havent seen a thread on the front page for this, so please give me link and lock this thread.
deck is esper control with all shroud creatures, allowing CA and techincal CA. for those who dont know what TCA is, it's turning cards in people's hands into junk they can't use, thus giving you more of an advantage.
so far, only playtested against vampires... and wins everytime.
my meta is BSA and vampire heavy, so i'm not sure duress is the greatest sideboard option. smother is AMAZING in the deck, allowing me to take out early game beats like vampire nighthawk.
nobody in my meta plays jund, the last person to do so consistently went 1-2 drop 4 weeks in a row... really bad luck and everyone sb's jund hate. vampires are most popular, always 2 or more. and everyone likes to play various shenanigans, like vala-ramp or iona-morph. boros bushwhacker is an oddity in our meta, because of the inconsistency. eldrazi elves may have taken a shine in my meta due to the white splash against vampies giving it the win.
This is the deck that I've played for about a week and I've found it to be fairly consistent. I won't include a SB in my decklist because mine is built around my metagame.
I can't decide between Hada Freeblade and Elite Vanguard; it doesn't make sense to run a 2/2 split - which is better?

thoughts on basic lands? i'm considering taking out a swamp for an island, which would also help if i get m10 duals.
my biggest worry is eldrazi elves. SB kor sanctifiers?
what should i take out for convertable turtles?
its an unspoken rule not to play the "deck to beat".
i run it because vampires have bloodghast and gatekeeper, and in rare cases lacerator. we also have bushwhacker white weenie, and rdw.
duelist is very good against all of these.
agreed.

hada freeblade. you already have blademaster so another cheap ally should pair well.
sideboards are very important.
what are your answers for vampires? how do you handle jund? is there anything in your meta we should know about?
