Jun 3, 2009Machine Messiah posted a message on (massive spoilers!!!) Thoughts on A Storm of Swords by George MartinI hear you. I wasn't going to start AFFC after hearing similar warnings, but I've decided to do it anyway. I think A Dance With Dragons will be George Martin's last A Song of Ice and Fire book.Posted in: Machine Messiah Blog

Mar 12, 2009Machine Messiah posted a message on (Spoilers) Thoughts on Neil Gaiman's Anansi BoysYep, Daisy! I didn't mention her because I couldn't think of anything clever to say. Her placement in the stories of the other characters was interesting but, like Rosie, she is a very "reactive" character.Posted in: Machine Messiah Blog
Mauve's character was pretty good too...she was the stereotypical "widow of a celebrity" in that she wasn't very world-wise. I thought the ending of her storyline was very sweet.
Also -- the penguin candles! Loved it! -

Yeah, I have been a big fan of Terry Pratchett for several years now, but I still haven't read all the discworld novels. I do want to pick up Good Omens as soon as I'm able to.
I like your description of your surroundings while reading Neverwhere. Interesting environment, it sounds like... - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
I got all 5 on release day at Target. I actually got lucky; there were none on the shelf, but there was a cart filled with nondescript cardboard boxes a few feet away. I checked them, and one was a sealed case of all five precons -- the last they had left.
Naya was surprisingly good 1v1. There's a lot of synergy with that deck, with the beast tribal and "5 power" mechanics.
The esper deck is decent out of the box, but it has like, NO removal. I think I counted four or five spells that could target and kill creatures, or kill creatures en-masse. Definitely not good enough, especially against the Bant deck, when they have Rubinia Soulsinger out...
Totally agree, by the way. My friend and I were able to get four different ones the day of release. Eventually, all five were available at Walmart/Target after a few weeks. But I live in a big city.
I don't know how to answer those questions.
My apologies if this is the wrong forum, or if a thread already exists for these types of questions.
EDIT: Zac Hill going crazy over scrylands again
BDM on the scrylands in this deck: "So the ONLY reason it's in there is for Scry."
Jaklovsky: "Yes. And to mystify opponents, I guess."
Hah, that's awesome. I wish I knew more people that are just so calm and friendly with each other in tournaments like that.
I couldn't hear, what did they say to each other?
And I still want one of those Theros tables Maybe I can make my own somehow.
Me too. It's a little disheartening because that's my deck...
I love RB, BW, and RBW. So many options...so hard to deal with...
EDIT: How can I go about buying one of those Theros tables? Haha.
